Come on, be serious. Naruto at times can be a fighting genius and his ingenuity, resourcefulness and unpredictability are almost second to none. And when it comes to fighting skill he is amazing, his chakra control is one of the best now, his taijutsu/frog kata requires huge skill. And let's not forget the time Naruto caught Karui's sword with his bare hands in base against trained swordsman.

He is an idiot no doubt but, especially outside battle but deep down he's really clever.

Naruto's like Goku. He's a very good fighter and very smart in battle, but outside of battle he's incredibly stupid.
