Is naruto or shikamaru a better hokage

Shikamaru is smart but lets be honest his title of hokage is short lived he couldn't stop kakazu on his own, his teacher, and pein, oro, or Madara would thrash him the hokage MUST be strong not JUST smart. Naruto is smart his will of fire is strong and he was train by Kage level and Kage trained people. Kage's nor just smarts its power unless your strong forget it Naruto is strong for the village, he's a stronger younger version of the Raikage right now.

I think Naruto would choose to be hokage were as Shikamaru is more like Jariya in that if he is called upon to take over the reigns as hokage he would try to seek out another to do the job. Being Hokage is just too troublesome....

Naruto because this has been his dream ever since he was very young...He would have the passion for it.

Shikamaru is one of the brightest minds, but this work seems too troublesome for him.. He would probably not enjoy it and would not have the passion for this line of work.

I base this on passion....Passion for a job is almost everything. You want to hire the guy that loves going to his work everyday or the guy that has talent but dreads it?

to me A is smart he just didnt give a sh!t about losing an arm.

A is not a genius like shikaku or shikamaru so why can't naruto be a hokage, cause he is decently intelligent, cares for his ppl, has good relations with other leaders like gaara, is powerful and liked and thought of as a hero in his village. Shikamaru does not have many of the qualities stated above

Don't get me wrong, I think Shikamaru is smart and cool and all that. I just would prefer Naruto, because it's his dream to become the hokage. I would think Shikamaru wouldn't want to be the hokage, because he isn't that "type" of guy. Just like Kakashi, he said he wasn't that type of guy to be a hokage, he liked being a jonin. Being the hokage also means you have the most power in the land, not JUST the smarts. Naruto is almost the strongest character in the manga next to Madara and Sasuke, and he's pretty smart also, if you saw when he tricked Kakuzu (a person who is over 90 years old with much more experience than Naruto), with shadow clones. Remember, just because somethings simple doesn't mean it's not useful.

Okay guys, understan what the title Hokage is.

Hokage is the title given to the strongest Shinobi in the village, which of course right now is Naruto. Shikamaru isn't close to as strong. Note this doesn't mean who would be better, but who would be Hokage, Naruto. The better, in my opinion is Naruto.

Even if my answer surprises you, shikamaru will be an excellent hokage, much better than naruto. He is calm, and brilliant, he would know how to build up great strategies, and know how to run the village.. Naruto on the other hand is the fighting type, not the organizing type that runs things, by no means necessary
