Is naruto or shikamaru a better hokage

Ok in my opinion this goes to Naruto because:
1.He is the son of the 4th hokage, he was trained by Kakashi (who was trained by Minato and who is also Kage material) and by Jyraia (one of the 3 Sannins, also Kage material, and the trainer of Minato) so from this point of view he is a candidate.
2.He has connections with other hidden villages and other Kages (Gaara and recently even A) and he is also more famous than Shikamaru.
3.The will of fire is strong in this one (if not actually the strongest)
4.He has the desire to protect his village, and unlike Shikamaru he also has the power to do that.
5.He might get too emotionally involved in things but remember "Those that break the rules and regulations are scum. But those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum!"
6.He is not that dumb anymore... he might not be a genius but still all his fighting experience would come in handy.
The only thing Shikamaru has is his brain... yea that is great but the very first attribute of the Hokage is to protect the village, something Shikamaru is not capable of.
And if Naruto does become Hokage he will indeed be nothing like those before him... i just can't imagine him doing paperwork and handling this kind of duties... he would be even lazier than Tsunade lol xd... he would just go and eat free ramen all day long and just sit on the roof of his office and watch the clouds.
So i guess it would be Naruto as Hokage and Shikamaru as his tactician.

to further ur 2nd point..he also made a promise to konan to make the hidden rain village a peacefull place when he becomes the hokage

..his characters alredi going around making these promises like his alredi hokage... take the hint people

in-terms of power, determination and the will to protect the village no matter what its naruto.

in-terms of the politics and critical thinking part of it its shikamaru.

but naruto would be a better kage being he has a strong back bone, shika would be an awesome advisor though.

Ok well the show is called "Naruto" so obviously Naruto will be hokage, his character is specifically designed for it I think. However, if he wasn't destined to become hokage and if being hokage was less dependant on how powerful the person was, Shikamaru would be better. Anyway I think Shika will be Naruto's advisor cuz Naruto is not good enough at some things like serious critical thinking.

shikamaru , honestly i dont even think naruto would even make a good hokage.. being hokage is about knowin whats best for your ENITRE village.. naruto would only do whats best for him.. look at sasukes situation.. sasuke is a world wide criminal thats needs to be dealt with.. but naruto is willing to fight his own comrads such as kakashi or hold them back jus to get what HE wants.. thats not hokage material at all.. and honestly i dont think naruto would ever deserve the title HOKAGE!

shikamru is patient, strategic, far sighted and more say diplomatic and naruto is impulsive, impatient but friendly and has a determination to succeed right now it would be shikamaru because naruto still has a lot to learn and becoming hokage now it would restrict him training to get stronger and make new ties and friendship which would help him when he is hokage later.

this has proably already been said but sikamaru is way to lazzy to be hokage, plaus the ability to make friends etc is a big part of being a leader so naruto would be way better ?

Honestly, I don't think you have to be "popular" to qualify as a hokage. As we all know, It would take work & patience as one, due to the large amounts of paper work, etc. Obviously, Shikamaru is the greatest choice to become a hokage... But, Naruto has leadership quality's, and shows promise to protecting the village.. TBH, I've never seen Naruto becoming the hokage, I've always thought of him dying as a hero of the village.
This is a hard question, but I think It would be a tie!

I think Naruto would be a good hokage because he is a people person but it would be wise to have shikamaru as either a second in command or something like that to help guide Naruto

This is a more logical answer,shika is intellegient but lacks heart,when making tough decisions even when its wrong,on the otherhand naruto will help others who are on the wrong path find the light once again with the exception of pure evil persona's a.k.a madara uchiha,

So naruto as hokage and shika as adviser just as tsunade is hokage and shika's dad as adviser.already been proven it works

to me A is smart he just didnt give a sh!t about losing an arm.
