Is Nagato as smart as Itachi and Minato?

Itachi and Minato are superior in that aspect though.

Kishimoto hyped the hell out of him to almost sickening levels. But I never remember him saying he had an over 200 IQ or anything like Shikamaru. He hyped his power and abilities way more than his intelligence and tactics. Kakashi and Shikamaru were the ones who always had their intelligence hyped.

Hes close but my op is that the other 2 are smarter. Give him credit, He came up his Six Paths of Pain technique, defeated Salamander and took over Hidden Rain. The guy was smart.

Minato got 1 better written test which doesnt stack up to finishing whole chuunin exam solo and obtained jounin faster and dominated his pupil(kakashi) in mission accolades shown by gunning for anbu squad cpt of his own division at a younger age.

It really depends on how you define "smart". Itachi is a philosophically intelligent man, which carries into how calm he is and his aids in his analytical abilities. Sasuke went on to carry most of this aspect and even in his teens was credited by Madara for his thorough thinking. I can't remember Minato being praised or having any moments of superior mentality. I'd say Nagato would be well leveled with him, but Itachi surpasses the both of them.

I don't recall anything that would suggest that Nagato's intelligence or analytical skills match up with Itachi or Minato.

He wasn't dumb by any means - he was portrayed as the leader of Akatsuki for a reason. But Itachi or Minato's level? Nay.
