Is Nagato as smart as Itachi and Minato?

He aint on their level, though as others said, he is above average, his lines are those of an intelligent wise man but still below them two, itachi is a lil bit above minato IMO though

Itachi the man controlled/brainwashed by Obito and Senju to kill his clan and let his brother alone is smart?
Minato the man seal kyubi inside his own child, let the kid through all hard pain, left little poor kid alone and go die happy with wife?

this two man claim by fans to be smart is the ridiculous claim i heard so far. period.

Madara/Itachi are the smartest.
Madara , despite getting rekt by Black Zetsu in the end , was extremely smart, just look at how much planning and preparing he did in order to make the Moon's eye plan a thing.
Itachi is Itachi, his intellect has been referenced by many characters, Kaguya's will confirms his intellect is way above Sasuke's .

Nagato is nothing but a powerhouse with huge chakra reserves. he's been outsmarted by jiraiya, itachi, naruto, and even kakashi. if not for the pain that revives the other paths (forgot it's name), his 6paths wouldve been defeated alot sooner.

i've checked the outdated databook 3, there doesn't seem to be a stat chart for him. but i highly doubt it'd be a 5 like itachi or minato. probably 3.5 or 4.0 at best.
