I'm pretty sure Kakashi could tank Kirin. Kirin barely defeated an injured Itachi by the end of the battle, and Itachi was already sick, not to mention Kakashi gone toe to toe with a weakened Itachi (even if he wasn't really going 100%). Itachi was still standing when he got hit, too. Kirin isn't as strong as it's made out to be, but it's fast, so dodging or warping is out of the question. Cutting it is too.

He already cut lightning before... Is Sasuke's lightning faster than normal lightning? Even though he's just controlling where it goes, not the speed or strength.

Sometimes the databook does say things that don't correlate with the manga, however this entry is supported by the manga. Which is why I believe it...

Hmmm that's a good question.

I'm gonna have to say no, Kirin is just too much. It's huge as hell and comes down extremely fast.

Though I would like to see a scenario like this.

I agree; it's likely just too big for Kakashi to control/cut.

No, hell no. He barley stopped Kakuzu's little lightning, and Sasuke has enveloped to "lighting blade" as well, he just calls it Chidori...

I figured this out because he cut through the Raikage's lightning armor:

Nope, Sasuke still uses Chidori. Raikiri has a slightly different stance and is more powerful. Sasuke's Chidori is just wayyy more versatile than Kakashi's Raikiri.

Kakashi is said to have tamed and cut lightning...

Raikiri can cut lightning:

More proof of such:

If Kakashi was actually able to cut a bolt of lightning, will Kakashi be able to cut Sasuke's kirin effectively ending the stream? Could Kakashi overpower kirin with his raikiri like he did with Kakuzu's raiton technique? You decide

Why cut it? Sasuke uses Chidori to control it so Kakashi just copies him and do the same thing or send the Kirin at Sasuke haha

The attack itself is fast, but the prep for it is not. Once Kakashi sees dark clouds and lighting start to build up with Sasuke holding his hand up, Im sure he could deduce what was to happen next.

Plus the jutsu Raikiri itself can only be used by someone extremely fast so that right there should tell you that Kakashi himself is pretty fast.

Of course Kakashi can cut natural lightings but the only explanation is that he controled lighting to direct it to him then cut it, because there is no way that he's fast enough to predict and cut it. The only explanation is that Kakashi can control lightings from clouds with his chakra in order to control the lighting bolts just like sasuke did,but he can only make it when it's naturaly there , he can't creat the condition since he don't have katon.

So Kakashi can probably cut kirin and even control it before it's too late with his chakra since both Sasuke and Kakashi would despute to control it.I don't think it would works against Kakashi.

Someone gets it! The fact that he cut a bolt of lightning in the first place is a reaction feat in itself.
It's not impressive at all... When it's just hype... (OP)Bartholowmew Kuma said he can repel things at the speed of light with that much velocity he could send entire island coming at you... That is clearly a hyperbole...

OT- Kakashi could barley react to a Susanoo arrow let alone Kirin...

Nahhh. Kirin is too large for it to be compared to Gian, and the Gai reference was likely simply foreshadowing to the event in which Raikir cut Gian.

No it was a reference to a time (Get this lol) when kakashi cut a bolt of lightning.

And that is just regular Raikiri

The lightning chain is two raikiri attached together (Him showcasing his mastery of shape manipulation)

That is enough to cut kirin in two drastically cutting down its power.

I also agree that i wouldn't work on kakashi since he we have proof that he can already perform such a feat.
And kirin takes some major prep time and forces him to stand still.
Any ninja would foresee this coming and one with a sharingan would definitely see it.

Kirin is a last ditch effort move.

kakashi was distracted with sakura and sasuke took the initiative to get a quick attack in ......and he still got it........................so nice try.

You trying to make him seem slow only proved a point and it wasn't yours.

Do you not know the difference between hype and fact ?

It wasn't said he "could" insinuating that it did not happen but, most likely would IT actually happened.

Chidori is not more versatile.

Raikiri is the advanced form of chidori.

It is better in every way.

What your talking about is sasukes' overall versatility with raiton and shape manipulation.

Sasuke has no need to use more chakra in his other chidori variant justu because the point of those other justu is not raw power nor is the extra piercing power.

Nagashi is to give himself a defense while at the same time act as an offense by numbing the opponent/catching them off guard/electrifying them.

Pretty much this.

The way Guy talks about it really makes it seem as though it really happened.
This is further backed by the databook.
And I even think in the anime it's either shown or referenced to in one of the filler episodes.
