I've been wondering this for some time and never really spoken about it.
When I write I have a more solid thought process because I can take my time to fully flesh out what I'm trying to say.
I also never try to curse or use slang when I write(unless if I'm joking around.)
When I talk in person, I do use "big words" but not always. I usually just try to convey what I'm trying to say in the briefest way, which sometimes might be considered inelegant(at least in my eyes).
I curse, but not intentionally, it sort of just comes out.
There are also words and phrases I can't force myself to say out loud because I think it sounds dumb. However, I am able to write them, and reading it sounds so much more natural than when I would say it.
For example, the word "beautiful". I can write it just fine, but I never say it because it sounds dumb to me out loud.
I'm not sure of the point I'm trying to make, I was just sharing a thought and wanted to get an opinion on the matter.
