Is it weird that I talk differently than I write?

I've been wondering this for some time and never really spoken about it.

When I write I have a more solid thought process because I can take my time to fully flesh out what I'm trying to say.

I also never try to curse or use slang when I write(unless if I'm joking around.)

When I talk in person, I do use "big words" but not always. I usually just try to convey what I'm trying to say in the briefest way, which sometimes might be considered inelegant(at least in my eyes).

I curse, but not intentionally, it sort of just comes out.

There are also words and phrases I can't force myself to say out loud because I think it sounds dumb. However, I am able to write them, and reading it sounds so much more natural than when I would say it.

For example, the word "beautiful". I can write it just fine, but I never say it because it sounds dumb to me out loud.

I'm not sure of the point I'm trying to make, I was just sharing a thought and wanted to get an opinion on the matter.

Not at all, I talk differently than I type or write. It's mainly for the reason that I think faster than I can speak and sometimes I stumble over my words or people can't understand what I'm saying.

I understand what you mean. It feels more comfortable being eloquent when writing rather than speaking.

I think it's a social vs. academic thing. When you're speaking you have to be straight to the point because listening is more difficult than reading, and it makes you look pretentious.

No not really, I have been told that I talk way better then I write since I often have: typos, missing words, or badly conveyed meanings when writing but I'm a more head first type of guy who doesn't think about these type of things regardless.

I'm usually the same, though I swear in text and talk equally, unless I mess something up IRL. I also tend to type more because a wall of text is slightly more acceptable than a "riveting" speech in my opinion.

Not really an interesting subject if everyone has the same stance as you.
Well if that's the true, then the underlying conversation which could evolve would be about the nature of speech.

Why is it that we can think hundreds of thoughts at once while also understanding them perfectly, but we can't even correlate one properly?

Well some of it comes from stereotypes in society as well as who you are talking too. While in your mind it's flowing and sounding right because it's your thought. When that thought leaves you and others hear it, it's no longer just your thought.

So it's adjusted for the listener.

I think it's natural to have differences in writing and speaking, and especially to be a bit more formal or conservative in writing. Swearing in conversation blows off steam or expresses emphasis. It loses that in print.

Because thought is something less affected by external influences? You tell me xD. I'm no scientist.

Huh, that's actually really an interesting way to look at it.

I haven't really researched the nature of speech, but I've mostly just thought about it.

What is speech? It is sharing an idea or an emotion? Perhaps both?

Art and music are both a form of speech. Sometimes they can provide a more clear emotion than talking, but they lack detail in order to convey an idea properly. In that sense it is abstract.

It would be amazing if could just share our thoughts. I remember talking with someone about this subject(what would God's voice be like?)

Without going into a religious territory, if such a being exists, I imagine his voice not being a voice at all. It would be music, beautiful, but also clear. We would understand the thought perfectly with only intuition. When one sings notes to an original song, it is mostly intuition.

So I wonder if humans might evolve or develop a technology that would let us do that. I guess that's the point I was thinking about all along haha
