What you smoking?

(i saw what you did there tho)

Marijuana. Though, if you don't believe me. Here you go:

Please, computer wasnt even made back then, and if that were true nothing would be organic

Sorry, but this is the dumbest thing I've ever read and shows your lack of understanding. When, people become more educated, older generations die off, we'll actually be able to move forward as society instead of being blockaded by religion.

where does the bible contradict itself?? please show me. And that consciousness stuff is bull. it doesnt even make sense

Thou shalt not murder.

"But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die.'(Deuteronomy 18:20-22 NLT)"

"Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)"

No he didn't. Please give me actual evidence, because you can't just claim stuff and people to believe it as fact. Though, you being religious you might expect this because this is what you've been taught to do.

I mean, "I'm actually beyonce. But, I don't need to prove it cause you should just believe me?"

Religion isnt taught, you either believe it or not and here's the proof:

The theory is that something, or someone programmed our universe. Though to be honest, it resonates with the idea of there being a god, kinda...

Just not the god depicted in religious texts. More like an extremely advanced civilization. It goes a bit deeper by even suggesting that our simulators may be a simulation. Another concept is that the universe is the simulator.

Religion isnt taught, you either believe it or not and here's the proof:

"The question of whether Charles Darwin accepted Christianity and rejected evolution is an emotional and intense one. To many Christians, Darwin is a villain who articulated a godless creation. To others, he is a brilliant hero who led the way to an enlightened view of where we came from. There are researchers and authors who have worked hard to prove and disprove any notion that he converted to Christianity and TruthOrFiction.com's conclusion is that when all is said and done, there is not enough good evidence that the story is true. We stop short of declaring it fiction, but regard it as not sufficiently proven. The report about Darwin's change of heart comes from one person, Lady Hope, an energetic Nineteenth Century Christian, while many members of Darwin's family denied it and there is nothing from Darwin's friends, colleagues, his own statements or writings to substantiate it. If Darwin did experience something so dramatic as a conversion to Jesus Christ and a complete revision of the theory of evolution that characterized his life and work, there isn't a shred of evidence of it outside of the claims of Lady Hope."

Quoted from that website.

Religion is taught in schools. In homes. In church. Your confusing the belief in God, with religion.

Next.

If you read earlier posts you'll see why god (in the bible) is the reason satan (in the bible) exists and more.

The bible condones things like human sacrice etc. :

At the LORD's command, a man of God from Judah went to Bethel, and he arrived there just as Jeroboam was approaching the altar to offer a sacrifice. Then at the LORD's command, he shouted, "O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you." (1 Kings 13:1-2 NLT)

Rape, sexual slavery and murder:

They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.

Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves. (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)

Considering that god is a god of 'mercy and kindness', do you not find such commandments contradictory to the famous 10 commandments. There are many more examples but I don't have time to waste. Just do the research and compare with an actual bible.

As for my statements about consciousness and reality; if you don't understand then you can educate yourself as well on quantum superposition and experiments like Shroedingers cat.

Wow, you're so ignorant that I don't even want to respond. I've given you a credible link to Supersymmertry, it's not my job to baby you to understanding. Learn for yourself, don't left people force it down your throat.

But, he isn't the one doing the killing. We are... which breaks the commandments. Or, are you doing to argue that because God said you could kill, it's alright?

next it is then :
it says he warmed up to christainity and his wife was a close friend to a strong christain so there you have it

Wow, did you even read that website?

"Those with him at the time insist there was no evident changing of mind. Indeed, in his autobiography written late in his life, Darwin fully supported evolution. He admitted the concept was distasteful to him and had brought him much dismay, but he still held it."

"Lady Hope was real, the wife of Lord Hope. She was a fervent Christian and friend of Darwin's wife, also a strong Christian who prayed for and witnessed to him all their married life, to no avail according to him. Nevertheless, many have researched the story, and all have concluded it is an 'urban myth.'"

If you respond like this again, I'll neg rep you.

I did read it, and yes it might be a myth, but it might also be true so you cant be mad. I wish you would just think for once deeply about life and not be so shallow

Seriously how is this thread still open 0__o

Anyways for one last lawl, suppose that Adam and we were the same race since eve was created from Adams rib. For arguements sake suppose they were white, how then did Asian, African, inuat, abororiginal and Indian people come to be? Basically what's the Christian version of how all the races on earth came to be?

Definition of "myth" - a widely held but false belief or idea

If you think I'm mad... you must not partake in discussions very often?

All I do is think about life, humanity and the universe. It's what happens when you're terminally ill, and have too much time on your hands.

Maybe if you believed in God you wouldnt be in that situation who knows, I'm still young and you probably have more life experience than me so i cant convince, but dont worry i'll pray that one day you'll understand the truth

I don't believe in a personal god (as in mainstream religions—Islam for instance), but it's entirely possible god exists. I think organised religion is nonsense, and that religion is used largely to subjugate the population. However, a lot of things would be easier to elucidate if god did exist. For instance, when perusing certain mathematical formulae and equations, it's difficult to deny its pulchritude. For example, a plenitude of laws that pertain to physics are inverse square laws (i.e., have a term in the denominator that is being multiplied by itself), which is remarkable. It is entirely possible that the universe was actively created by a certain being (perhaps god is the unification of the four fundamental forces before they separated?). Furthermore, I am of the opinion that asking these kinds of questions is largely futile—as is debate regarding the existence of such beings—if god is that which you seek, in addition to truth, then look towards mathematics/physics/science, but equally look towards yourself/the cosmos/spirituality.

A lot of geniuses believed in god, such as Newton. Newton was unequivocally a genius, even one of his many discoveries bearing genius (the binomial theorem, the (differential) calculus, optics, gravitation, the three laws of motion, etc), and he believed in god, as did geniuses such as Srinivasa Ramanujan. Therefore, in my opinion it is conceited to assert your views as absolute truth, when far more qualified/capable people (Newton was a theologian, albeit an amateur one), have contrary views.

Furthermore, people such as Leibniz believed in god, and logical arguments can be provided for his existence (in particular, if you're interested and are reasonably well read into logic, you should inspect Gödel's ontological proof), as did other mathematicians.

Thus, it follows that if such great minds were convinced, it is entirely possible that god exists (I'm not concordant with their views solely because they were geniuses, but because they provided substantiated arguments).

But, again, I don't concern myself too much with this topic.

It's not about them being geniuses. It's about critical thinking, and the scientific method. Under this method, we seek to gain conformation of our theory's by trying to discredit and disprove them. If you can't disprove a theory, it's likely that it contains facets of truth, or is the truth. Being that we can't disprove the existence of God, we can't deny the possibility of him being real. Thus, Agnostics are born. This view is held by most scientist, because it's logical.

Though, Newton was a Christian, it's because during his time Christianity was the norm (and being that he couldn't disprove the existence of God), he decided to follow it, because it was logical thing to do. (Newton being a logical man.)

The likelihood of such a being, being the same as depicted in the bible is very low. Because the bible was created by man, to control the masses.
