The interview is bogus. People conducting interviews don't use the question "how come." Especially if yhey are working for viz. there is no way someone with that grammar would be sent over seas by viz.

HUGE SPOILERS. Saw this floating around and decided to share. Not sure if this has been posted yet, or if it's even legit but apparently one of his assistants leaked Tobi's identity and interviewees questioned Kishimoto about it. Please remove this thread if it's breaking any rules.

While visiting Japan for business,me(Victor Sleever) and Mike Birnton, from Viz Media, decided to spare some of our time and go to Comic Market 78, the biggest manga festival in Japan, something that happens only twice a year. The festival lasts for 3 days, from 23 august to 25 august.

After some time wandering around the Tokyo Big Sight convention center, we met Masashi Kishimoto, me and Mike are big fans of Naruto, so it was a really pleasant surprise to be able to talk with him.
He didn't have much time to talk because he was holding a conference in about 30 minutes since we met, we asked if he could reveal some of the things he will talk about at the conference, and surprisingly he said yes.

Mike asked all the questions while I wrote them.
Q:So, what exactly is the conference about?
A:After the identity of Tobi was revealed by one of my assistants, I realized that the next few chapters will leave the fans confused. I had to clear up some misunderstandings, thus, Comic Market was the best place to do it.

Q:Then the rumors are true? Is Toby really Izuna? I thought he died in battle after Madara took his eyes, is that a lie?
A:Well, the truth about his survival is much different, I can't tell you how he survived, you will have to read the next chapters to find out, but yes, Izuna is Tobi.

Q:How come he has eyes now? I thought he was blind.
A:He will reveal that together with his identity, let's just say that the Uchiha clan is much larger than you know.

Q:In an earlier interview you talked about Madara not having any weaknesses, what about Tobi? Is he going to be killed by Naruto after his identity is revealed?
A:Not really, after the way he survived is revealed and what he tries to truly achieve, everyone will change, the truth will hurt a lot of them, it will actually change the history that they know.

Q:What do you mean by that? How will it hurt them?
A:The truth is dark and bloody. Madara is related to why Tobi was supposed to die, you could say that what he wants is revenge, but his brother isn't the only who wanted to kill Tobi, one of the Hokage played a big part in the attempt on his life.

Q:What else?What is going to happen in this fight?
A:You know, Tobi always had this forbidden technique prepared, I wanted him to use it only after his identity is revealed. If you thought that Kabuto's technique for reincarnating people is dangerous, you should see what Tobi prepared.

Q:Why did Izuna hide his identity?
A:Because some of the Akatsuki already know what Madara did to Izuna, they know because someone told them, and they wouldn't be willing to help Izuna. I'm afraid I can't answer any more of your questions, but I'm hoping you will be patient, in the next weeks everything will be revealed.

A short interview that revealed a huge amount of spoilers, what is the truth behind Izuna's past? I guess we are going to find out in the next chapters.

What do you think? Bogus or not? Remember these guys are from Viz Media, so it's not as if Kishi is spilling the beans to a random person on the street.

EDIT: Apparently someone got in contact with JUMP, this interview was meant to be released on September 19th because it contains spoilers up to chapter 602. Their Hush-Hush attitude is giving the impression that it's real. This is what said user posted.

"Yesterday I sent a P.M. to one of the moderators at Naruto.Viz.com(his name was Vex), this morning he finally replied telling me that they were contacted by the one of the representatives of Shonen Jump, because of their contract with Shonen Jump Japan they had to respect the representative's request.
He told me that that the interview should have never been posted in the first place since it contained spoilers for up to Chapter 602. Until the next 4 chapters will be released the topic has been restricted from viewing(the release date of Chapter 602 is 19 September, I think).
I also asked if I could get a link to the restricted topic, but he denied my request, he said that only moderators are allowed to view the topic.
I don't know whether or not this interview is real, but the moderators from Naruto.Viz.com treat it as if it was."

Edit 2.0: Pheonix pointed out that the supposed contacts at Viz don't exist, making this interview more fake than real. Starting to lean towards fake but we'll see.

Keep in mind this is supposedly an informal interview; they apparently just bumped into him and asked him questions.

I wonder, if kishi prooves this interview to be fake then, could this mean that tobi cannot be izuna? And wouldn't that be the aim of the guys who invented the interview(if the interview is fake of course)?

I dunno, It might be far fetched and maybe I am saying something a little crazy since it's like 2 in the morning and I am tied but I dunno, It could be a possibility.

Anyways, if this happens to be real, I'm gonna be so pissed at myself for spoiling myself unknowingly

Regardless if this is real or not Izuna still is the only one that makes sense to me. The knowledge he has and most importantly the fact that he collects eyes. What would start an obsession like that? The fact that u were blind for a while. Feeling powerless. U would want the strongest power. The best eyes. Only part that doesnt make clear sense is how did he know obito's eye would be worth collecting and implanting it in his. Thats the only part that goes for obito. But everything else to me points to izuna. I could be wrong. If i a/am not im just goint to say "kishi, fine work my friend"

IMO Tobi is someome among Obito, Izuna and Kagami.

But, don't you think Tobi has to be someone who Kakashi or Guy will recognise after Tobi's face is revealed? Because...you know..if else it will turn into a LOL :| - not recognising who he is will be stupid. So how Izuna?
And is it possibe for Obito to live at the time of 3rd Mizukage? Yes, but he will be too young IMO.
Plus, I don't want Tobi to be Kagami.

I still have a gut feeling that Tobi is Kagami, but after the info you just shared with me, I'm a lot more open to other characters as well now.
