Wow this has gone way to far lemme tell you guys something..Sites like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter won't be affected much at all. Most of the things you guys have listed is actually in fact fictional, Granted the bill does exist. Sites like this will not be taking down. They are referring to sites that promote piracy, hence all those sites you can download movies that are only still in theaters, Illegal downloads, sites that claim to sell fake medications under a real company's name, there are such things as counterfeit medical websites. Youtube music videos are in fact put up by the artist corporations, but the ads and things can be taken in a bad light with this bill. It's obvious to me that people started to jump to conclusions about a bunch of things that you obviously have not that much of an idea about.. The few problems with it right now is how It's going to determine what is deemed bad about the websites, Google will now have to depend on the DMCA, It does not trust them to remove content that is currently blocked by Google filtering like child P*rn. Is this bill gonna be passed? Probably not anytime soon. Is this bill unfinished? Yes, It still has to be fixed and bugs taken out. Can this Bill be a bad thing? Yes it can, It can turn out very bad. Is it unfair? Yes very much so, but It's not like you guys actually own websites and shit.

As for the " Free Beiber" campaign that was launched on October 19th, 2011 was a satire website. Not real at all. Most of the things on it are Satire..making fun of it for those who don't know what that means

Filling out these little petitions is not gonna do anything major, sure they will get what you are trying say, Even if It is backed by Yahoo, Google, Facebook I have high doubts that such a bill will be approved. Not to be offensive but if you don't live in the USA then you really have no right to complain about it, not like your country is gonna be affected. I seriously hope next time you take the time to post this most informative thread, you do just a tad bit more research. Oh make sure someone that that works with the NSA and is in the Us Navy don't see this. -.-. Wanna know more about the actual bill? Wanna see the actual bill that is being presented

Lol. i was told by Tsu that if you or scorps or anybody i encountered that day say stupid shit like your saying now. report them and they will get infracted and in my case hopefully banned. so i wont insult you. just let you off with a warning bro. go back to school. do some homework. cause your response to me technically trying to *FLAME* me is a epic fail. so i suggest this be the LAST time you comment on anything i do bro. real talk. have a nice day
yea your right
i just hope the He-She loses her cable
and her laptop falls in water
and her acess to any nearby cpu acess is limited to now
:)

i wont get banned cause i reported the mtfif they infract me then best believe ima go off

I told you to report if anyone harrasses you. Staff will take action as it sees fitting. It applies for every user at the site.

That doesn't mean that if you particiapte in the flame game no action could be taken against you as well. Just letting you know.

Everything which is related to copyright.
For example; No more Youtube videos that are copyrighted. (Every single Song you know for example)

Not sure if stupid are just, well yeah, stupid.
You don't even know what you're talking about. They are going to censor EVERYTHING from things like this Website, which means; no more weekly Naruto for you to every single song on Youtube you know. I don't even know why I am arguing with people like you who.
Damn, how stupid can one be?
Mercy you started the flame here. You could have been disagreed politely. Calling someone stupid because they don't agree with you is an insult.

Not everyone is going to agree with the outcry and oppose the bill. They are entitled to their POV. If you have any worthwhile argument to reply why they shouldn't come up with it instead of flames. Can you claim that you have read the bill and understand it completely?

Are you Serious? All you just typed is completely false. Google, Yahoo, Facebook, etc are not backing the bill, they are OPPOSED to it, because it would destory their companies. Learn some common sense.

Can I bet a BAH from you my little sheep?

I try, I just hope I didn't offend anyone. I just don't like to see people come on this site promote things that they may not understand completely, and get the whole site riled up over it. I hope that people will read the bill and try to understand it. But ya Welcome :)

Please just stop. Not only are you flaming but you clearly did not understand at all. I ment that the people opposed to it hence the people who who made the petition are backed by those companies. Please re read

dude seriously , it will not be passed. the election is going on right now, they do not have time to deal with such a crucial decision, there are bigger problems rising. something like that could selfdestruct the country. obamo has already vetoed the bill about .xxx , their are only 8000 folks within 6 months that has actually wanted to do this. like i said previously it needs to be milllions of folks wanting to pass this law.

Oh and please refrain from calling me names I'm not a sheep. I know what I'm talking about. I refuse to argue with a child. You clearly didn't read since I said the people that are doing the petitions are backed by Google, Yahoo and Facebook. Nice try to sound like a BA. But It don't work for you sweetheart.

But Felicia, that is incorrect. Sites like Google and Facebook strongly oppose this bill.

They don't want it because it makes a ton of more work for them to do because the blacklisted sites have to be taken off of search engines or else they would be though of "Permitting" the website in question. Also, they have to be careful what they host as well. Sites that they have, like Youtube, could be shut down entirely for one video. Take this scenario, there is a video of someone playing an original piano song. A popular song is very faint in the background. That would be considered illegal. And if it were to be posted, the songs publishers could take legal action against both Youtube and the publisher of the original video. Even though it was not the poster's intent. And it would shut down the entirety of youtube for one video. It is like, in NB terms, if one person did something bad in a thread, they ban the whole thread. Instead of taking that specific video down, they would blacklist youtube.

This is what I said read it. I'm saying the petitions are backed by them. Thank you so much for proving your ignorance

I take it you didn't read the bill it's self did you? IF you didn't read the whole thing then you really have no rights to comment about it, since clearly not a one of you fully understands

Wow. No need to get mad, I misconstrued what you were trying to say. Just because you didn't make yourself clear enough does not prove my ignorance on the topic. I though you were saying that they support the bill.

Be civil. And read carefully before you jump upon anyone. Nowhere she said that they are backng the bill but she said "even if they backed..".

Okay. You are obviously didn't read the whole bill either. I like how you are trying to be a BA, coming into the thread acting like you are the God of knowledge pertaining to the bill.

Any site that contains any type of copyright infringement is in threat of being shut down because of this bill.

Do you see that Naruto picture up in the right hand corner of the NB site, do the owners of the website have rights to that?
Do they have rights to house all the pirated manga and anime they contain on the site?
Do they have rights to the logos and information pertaining to Naruto that is on this site?

I am exactly sure that the answer to all of those questions would end in a big, NO.

So YES, this site could and most likely WOULD be shut down if the bill passed.

There is no way this bill can be passed; there's too many who oppose it. But if it does somehow manage to be signed into law; there will be so much uproar that the courts will make it unconstitutional, as was said earlier.
and to Teno, if you are in college and a pyschology major; how come you don't see the importance in politics? i won't touch on the grammer topic because everyone else has already done so; but what i will say is that a REAL pyschologist understands the importance of politics and how it effects us financially, mentally(etc. lack of money gives way for depression) physically(medicare, etc) and countless of other ways. what happens in our government determines ultimately determines what happens to us. for someone who is suppose to be in college, you apparently don't have the mental capacity to understand that. it is obvious that you have been angered, and are lashing out by threatening the other members with an infraction. you are clearly out numbered and you don't like it. The next time you want to act like something your not; how about you send me a message; because i'm a REAL pyschology major

If we Riot (which we shouldnt) we WILL lose. trust me on that
not only that. if we RIOT im pretty sure most countrys will see that as a time to strike.

Mostly porn sites i think
Nobody is going to strike at america lol. What are they gonna do steal our debt. I mean they rioted in canada and nobody attacked them, because all they'd get from canada is some maple syrup. Before making stupid claims perhaps you should learn what your arguing about do some research. You sound like a guy during our revolution that woulda been like nahhhh lets just keep letting the british tax us, Men and Women are dying to protect your freedoms every day! So at least make some use of them!
