Great theory.

As for Itachi being an Edo, I don't think it has anything to do with him healing, but more to the fact that by being an Edo, he has given Kabuto the choice/ability to end the loop any time he wants; by releasing the Edo. Which plays into the angle of Kabuto being the one to decide his fate. It also means Itachi could hold the technique indefinitely, since he won't die, doesn't sleep, etc.

Basically, if Itachi was not an Edo, Kabuto would have no guarantee that Itachi would end Izanami, if Kabuto ends Impure World Ressurection.

So, in fact, Itachi could stand beside Kabuto defendless and Kabuto can do nothing until he decides by is own to stop the edo?

nice I agree because it's like kabuto can choose his destiny but only if itachi like approves and do you think he can do this with someone near death like make them do it over again choose the right which will make them survive xd

Edit: Thanks everyone - made my day ^_^

Basically it works by trapping the foe in an infinite loop

If the foe decided the wrong path, he starts the loop all over again at the beginning

Itachi is basically forcing Kabuto to release the edo tensei. That is the destiny Itachi set for Kabuto - he must choose to accept it

Notice Itachi says 'you are the one who will decide it', he is literally saying to Kabuto ''accept releasing the edo tensei as your destiny and end the loop''

You must be registered for see images

I came to the Same Conclusion, I think you got it right, you get to decide someone's destiny but destiny is decided by the choices a person makes in other words Izanami traps you in an infinite loop until the experience and realization that your trapped makes you change the choice you've made, in Kabuto's case he chose to never end the edo tensei but Itachi put him in the loop in other words a Time-Out that lasts forever until you change your destiny and make a different decision giving you infinite time to consider your options... Change or wait until your body ages to death

izanami + izanagi = creation of all things

I still think it's no mere coincidence that Itachi's left eye[/] went out when he cast izanami... But then again, izanami might have that larger than life effect.

Considering that Tobi was able to determine Nagato's body location through an unnamed genjutsu, which is likely to also be Tsukuyomi, I'll still go with the impromptu conditions theory.

this theory is the best ive seen so faar. i guess the side effect of using this technique is that the user gets stuck in the genjutsu too.. n his fate is also sealed with the decision made by his opponent. so if kabuto doesnt make the right decision itachi will also be kept in the loop with him. i guess thats why its a forbidden technique

the last page has me thinking that only kabuto is inside the loop? Kabuto is standing still, Itachi and Sasuke aren't inside Izanami though so they can attack Kabuto while he's 'fighting' inside the loop...

thats wot i thought, its probably similar yo how the time elapses in tsukuyomi

No. Rather I think Only Kabuto is trapped in a limbo state of Mind. Last page of Manga shows Itachi's hand on Kabuto's head which isnt part of the Loop.
If this is the case then Itachi and Sasuke can talk while Kabuto goes bat crazy deciding whether he will end it or not:D

there is no genjutsu, itachi has turned genjutsu into reality

it's a complete opposite of izanagi which changes reality into genjutsu

edit: thanx bro

Didn't Itachi tell Kabuto he fell under his genjutsu?
