I think Amaterasu is the strongest Jutsu.

it can be sealed, you can use armour, you can use bunshin. amaterasu is a very powerful jutsu, but first of all pretty much everyone knows it's coming- sasuke was able to prevent itachi from doing it and even bee would have if nagato didn't prevent it. and secondly it's slow burning. sasuke's ability to spam it incessantly does make him extremely powerful true, but it's nowhere near an invincible jutsu, it has plenty of weaknesses.

Dear god, so many misconceptions. First of all, let me clear up few things about Amaterasu through this post:

- Black Flames will burn on the point wherever the eye is focused - Which means it isn't a projectile.

The only reason the flame hit the Samurai, is because it went beyond the point-of-focus. As Amatersau works on line of sight, then the Flame automatically hit the next target in Sasuke’s field of vision. This can be proven through this link: Amatersu goes wherever the eye goes:

- This is the main reason why flames you following Sasuke during his fight with Itachi, as the flames after 'focus' is complete, follow wherever the user directs his eyes.

Amatersau penetrated the defenses of a tailed beast that are nothing but living Manifestations of Chakra. It even eats through flames which are basically made out of chakra.

Amaterasu is not easily dodged as it took A a fully charged body armour:

Not to mention Danzo saw it coming – see above scans – along with A:

Obito also used Izanagi to escape the Jutsu, otherwise his clothes would have been effected. Shinra Tensai isn't a counter for Amaterasu, as it blows the flames off whilst they are still burning. In fact, Nagato never saw it coming, nor did he react to it:

- and only regenerated because he was an Edo. Just look at his body's condition. If this is avoidance, then I laugh at anyone who says that Shinra Tensai is somehow a solution.

Gaara did not block Amaterasu. This can be proven through these links:

- Sasuke guarding himself with an Enton against Gaara.

Sasuke never attacked Gaara in the first place, and hence only created a projectile out of the present flames over his Susano'o - easily visible in the second link - to guard himself. No 'eye focus' took place here at all.

The fact remains, that Amaterasu is nearly impossible to avid, and once it hits, the opponent is done for, especially if he/she takes a focused Amaterasu as I proved. It was implied by Sasuke that his Kirin can be aligned with Amaterasu as far as speed is concerned:

Although I don't believe this, as Kirin seems a lot faster, but Amaterasu is no push over either. People should pay more attention to the manga.

Like Itachi said, "Every jutsu has a counter".

I ALMOST agree with that statement. He was 99.99% correct.

The strongest jutsu's that we've seen had counters:

Chibaku Tensei- Destroying the core of the gravitational pull entirely, stops this jutsu. Though, you do need an extremely strong attack to destroy the core.

Shinra Tensei- As strong as it was, a 6 Tailed Naruto was able to completely withstand it, and turn it's force on Pain instead.

Here's the thing with Amaterasu and why I consider it the strongest jutsu, it cannot be countered.

When it comes to Amaterasu, you can:

A) Dodge

B) Permanently lose an arm or a leg, or any other limb that gets engulfed in the black flame.(Reason why Ei was...."disarmed".

C) Use an extremely powerful Substitution jutsu.

D) Izanagi


You see, the reason why I consider Amaterasu as the strongest jutsu, is because you cannot do anything besides avoid it. You can only run or lose your own arms and legs to avoid dying from it.

And there isn't anything in existence that Amaterasu cannot burn. Everything must burn, and be annihilated.

This is why I think Sasuke is much too powerful now, and the strongest Uchiha by far. He controls Amaterasu like a part of his own body.

Gaara easily avoided being hit by it, without even moving.

The strongest ninjutsu is Chibaku Tensei because it was used to create the moon and it has trapped the Ten-tails jinjurinki. That's hard to say. Amaterasu is the strongest Fire Style jutsu, Rasenshuriken is the strongest Wind Style jutsu, Water Dragon is the strongest Water Style jutsu, Kirin is the strongest Lightning Style jutsu, C0 (Ultimate Art) is the strongest Earth Style jutsu, Tsukiyomi is the strongest Genjutsu, and Gentle Fist is the strongest Taijutsu. Also, the strongest Bunshinjutsu is Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu, the strongest Fuinjustu is Reaper Death Seal, the strongest Juinjutsu are Heaven's Curse Mark and Earth's Curse Mark, the strongest Senjutsu is Ultra Giant Rasengan, and the strongest Tensei Ninjutsu is Samsara of Heavenly Life. The strongest Dojutsu is Rinnegan and the strongest Kekkei Genkai (that's NOT a Dojutsu) is Wood Style (in my opinion). There are several extremely powerful jutsu that can't be put into catergories.

The Naruto world has a kind of rock papers scissors thing when it comes to elemental jutsus, so even though Amaterasu is classified as the strongest fire ninjutsu, it could presumably be matched by a water jutsu. There is no definitive "strongest jutsu", especially when you could measure it in different ways. For instance, is it a supporting jutsu? Is it a Genjutsu? Is it a taijutsu? They are all different.

The point of this thread was to show that nothing and no one can counter Amaterasu, only avoid it.

In almost all of your examples, everyone is using an avoidance or an escape tactic instead of Nagato. And Nagato would burn, he can only deflect an attack if he sees it coming, but Amaterasu engulfs the target at the point of focus of the eye. Example: Manga! Itachi burns Nagato. He only survives due to being an Edo, no living human could survive the wounds that had already been inflicted on him.

ok then in almost all, but not all examples. suigetsu and orochimaru can still counter it, no dodging. meaning they get hit and respond to it by turning into water or shedding bodies.

IMO - It can be repelled with Shinra Tensei.

When Nagato was totally under control of Kabuto, He repelled it although he was burnt a lot and regeenrated fast. But Nagato is a high sensor ninja and he could sense when amaterasu was coming which means he can sense it and counter it with shinra tensei instanteneousely. This could be the one way.

Another possible way is to counter it using sand or rock defense as Gaara did.

Both ways are shown in manga in different scenarios. Which proves Itachi's statement right "every jutsu has weekness"

I would like to see Shinra Tensei and Meteor Pull and Perfect Susano'o as storngest jutsus. We are yet to see more about Hashi's Sage Mode 10K Buddha Hands Jutsu.

As shinra tensei can not be repelled even by a high level shinobii until a perfect kuramajinchuriki with minimum 6-tails or Juubi. I don't see any other jinchuriki doing this.
