[Discussion] I really agreed with Sasuke this chapter

I had always thought before that Itachi's words to Naruto would always confirm him to be the Hokage because they were very true. After this chapter, you kinda have to agree with Sasuke; the people would never have wanted it to be true, but Itachi was somebody that deserved to be Hokage and I think everybody can agree to that.

OT: I agree Sasuke really wants peace, but I'm still struggling with how he really intends on achieving it. I still believe that the two need to work together to really achieve peace.

Itachi is Konoha Itachi. Sasuke is not Konoha Sasuke. Itachi limited himself to the hidden leaf village. Sasuke is taking it to the next level by including all villages and nations. He think he will succeed where itachi fail because he got way more power now.

No, itachi thought he did the wrong thing, but to sasuke, he did the right thing

Naruto is a person...regardless. Kaguya was as good as Naruto. Yet no one knows what made her what she is.

However, the naruto thing is just a really quick theory, but its not impossible.
There's no detail on who or what brings true "peace" to the NU.

If it was stated to be Naruto, then it'll change because like you said..he wants to be friends, and sasuke is his friend. He's also the only other person to compare or better Naruto.

How is he contradicting? All he was saying is Itachi did everything (good,bad)for the sake of the village etc and he was hated and branded a traitor cause of it but he didn't care and still did everything for the leaf regardless of what was said and thought of him be it good or bad.

Its actually the opposite, sasuke understands him completely. Itachi new that sasuke would follow his path if he new the truth. That was a reason why he kept lying to sasuke up until their final meeting. It was then that itachi realized that no matter what; sasuke was going to take this route of darkness. Thats why he told sasuke no matter what you do i will always love you. Sasuke is a realist and is thinking about the people and himself, he is sacrificing himself for the greater good of the people and the entire world.

Yeah I feel like a lot of people are hating on Sasukes idea, but I can see why he reached that conclusion. And the part about bearing everyone's hatred is rather brilliant IMO, and shows he does care. It might not be pretty, but I think his plan would be pretty successful, as far as unifying the villages at least. He'd never get credit due to their hatred, but he sees how itachi was content to be hated while protecting the people in his own way, and I guess he's prepared for the same.

Sasuke's plan is more realistic than Naruto's.
However, even if it does work by some luck, my only question is what happens 90 years into the future when Sasuke dies of old age? He'd have to find someone else to bear everyone's hatred. No one would take up that burden and not complain. Sasuke probably can't do it himself, though he wishes to attempt to. The system will fail. Kishimoto will most likely just strike a balance between Sasuke's and Naruto's ideals towards the end of the fight.

He's contradicting him by handling things on his own. Itachi told Sasuke that he failed because he tried to handle everything on his own, and now Sasuke is trying to handle everything on his own, except on a more extreme scale

As others have said, Sasuke is talking about how he wants to follow Itachi's ways, yet his plan invovles doing what caused Itachi to fail. Sasuke's plan isn't any way more realistic than Naruto's at all, both plans ****ing suck, though Naruto's is clearly the lesser of two evils.

Sasuke clearly hasn't grown a single bit in regards to his character. He's still the same angsty emo whiny kid he was from the beginning of the series, at least Naruto's grown a little bit

However, I do agree with him on the idea that Itachi could've been a great hokage.

that's not obsessing over power. there are many times naruto felt helpless that he couldn't save or help his friend, even during neji's death
but naruto with his friends always overcome that feeling and they head back into the fight.

obsessing over power is obito trying to become the 10tail jinchuuriki and taking nagato eyes
sasuke leaving the village to get stronger with orochimaru, taking his brother eyes etc
madara was the definition of obsessed with power so I don't need to say anyhting there

all naruto wanted to do was protect his friends, which is his answer.
