the WII is Awesome xP !!!from that the thing I got is that the PS3 IS THE BEST (after wii!) lol
My argument on which you reply this statement has yet to involve the Wii, and has never mentioned anything about the success, merely the price:hardware comparison. You say my first paragraph does not relate to the subject at all...how doesn't it?You were referring to how the PS3 is ''superior'' because of its capabilities.I was stating that the most inferior console-the wii sells better than the PS3 so it really makes no difference. So why you tried to pick that apart I really don't know![]()
The PS3 may have had it's errors (I hear it for the first time actually, I know quite some people with consoles and have yet to hear one having this error). So I take they weren't nearly as common as the XBox's RROD.Also the problems that the consoles had (key word there 'had') doesn't really come into context now.I was merely referring to what you had previously put in your statement to rag about the PS3 not having any faults.Had you read what I put after you would have seen that I also said that both consoles had sorted out their problems,as the elite doesn't really have this problem anymore and well sony released the 60gb etc...
With 'quality over quantity' I rather meant: Having 1 PS3 sounds a lot more appealing than having an XBox 360, it's newer generation, and the generation after that. You say 'quality over quantity' yet the xbox still sells better internationally and as the market is like sheep they will flock to the stores when xbox natal is released to buy it.And will keep buying whatever is brought out due to the advancement in technology
It's an extra feature, for this you will need to either install it, or buy the most expensive version (hence the availability of WLAN on your XBox). The PS3 however, has it on all editions (except the 20 GB).You mention wireless connection capable of streaming media....I have this for my xbox elite, they have the option to connect it if you have the wireless capability for your console (wireless usb) this is done via windows media.I mention gamer hardware* (bad mistype first time round) ''associated'' with sony, I wasn't implying that sony developed the games I was referring to the companies who make the games for the console aren't diverse enough.
That's unnecessary, we're the ones discussing here and if anybody feels the urge to join in, the level of intellect required for our discussion should not be lowered in order to keep the discussion going in the regular direction. If we let other people not capable of discussing join in, it'll turn this thread into a big rant, causing the moderators to close a topic again. As you referred to my marketing awareness,I was giving a simplified example for those not familiar with business terms on nb.Me personally I studied business for 2 years at A level so yes I do know what i'm talking about but decided to give business example to which people could relate to.
Hence the successful investment. As for blue-ray,yes they have invested in it but the only reason PS3 blue-ray does so well is that no one wants to fork out money to buy a blue-ray dvd player (note the prices that they are not exactly cheap) so people would rather go for the 2 in 1 with the PS3 as it works out cheaper and more effective in the long run.
Microsoft has proven to be way more out for money than Sony and Nintendo combined. Examples are Windows Vista, which is a patched up Alpha version of Windows 7.You keep mentioning 'future proof', so what they don't want to make profit now? They are a business out to make money and due to the way people react when a new console comes out microsoft will keep making money on them.
No, it actually sums up how big of an audience it can cover. Till the day of today, PS2 games are still actively developed. It indicates that they care more for their clients than Microsoft, which is again proven by their paid service. Microsoft needs you to pay for everything.Backward capability-i'll sum it up-it's not that good,by going on about how great it is your just agreeing with my arguement about PS3 not having good enough games that they have to go back to PS2-PS1 games?!
That doesn't rule out the fact that it would require a very high resolution camera, which are expensive. And NATAL won't be as expensive as you thinkthe technology is already available they just have upgraded it and put a patent on it as IBM have been working together with them on it.They have already said the camera will come standard with the console and they won't want to lose profit with their customers so the price of the console won't become extortionate.
I don't like to involve the word biased here. It seems we both have experiences with multiple consoles, so it wouldn't be entirely applicable here. People that argue in a biased manner wouldn't get a long answer from me, or entirely none. They're not worth discussing with.We could debate this all day,but when it comes down to it its a matter of opinion.Whether it be biased or not.Its all about personal gaming experience and the needs and wants of the gamer. This,as mentioned earlier is where the target market comes into place. But it depends upon who they are aiming it at.I mean I know people who still find playing on the N64 and Gamecube more enjoyable than playing Xbox 360 & PS3 weirdly enough. Its good to see someone who has the intellectual ability to hold a debate rather than it turn into a arguement for once.As I work in I.T. and have had several consoles since I was a kid in america and then moving to the UK, I have been able to notice the difference between consoles and their developments for e.g. america having sega cd,whereas UK having sega megadrive, america having sega gamegear whereas it wasn't that popular in the UK.Advancement in technology will always be something that catches my eye but and be of interest.I do enjoy a good debate but as I say this will keep going on and on because of our differs in opinion neither of us will be swayed by eithers arguementitive case.So we shall have to agree to disagree i'm afraid.
if the xbox sells more and the ps3 is better than its quality over quantity since the ps3 is our main topic the first adjective "quality" is the one its being modified by thus quantiy for 360/natal/elite w.e.
You say 'quality over quantity' yet the xbox still sells better internationally and as the market is like sheep they will flock to the stores when xbox natal is released to buy it.And will keep buying whatever is brought out due to the advancement in technology
You keep mentioning 'future proof', so what they don't want to make profit now? They are a business out to make money and due to the way people react when a new console comes out microsoft will keep making money on them
this is a package deal for people who dont want to play just ps3 games just like we know, sony knows that thier developers are not on par with microsoft and its only a feature on some of the consoles (i cant say which ones at the moment as that is not a feature on mine)Backward capability-i'll sum it up-it's not that good,by going on about how great it is your just agreeing with my arguement about PS3 not having good enough games that they have to go back to PS2-PS1 games?!
the price being extortionate is not the problem the marketing stategy is whats extortionate selling defective models in mass, making slow improvements, these are way more extortionate than the price will beAnd NATAL won't be as expensive as you thinkthe technology is already available they just have upgraded it and put a patent on it as IBM have been working together with them on it.They have already said the camera will come standard with the console and they won't want to lose profit with their customers so the price of the console won't become extortionate.Unlike the stupidly expensive price that the PS3 came out as.
well said,T_T people ignored my original post...
XD
anyways...If the PS3 had a better variety of good games and was 50-100 dollars cheaper then it is now I would probably have both a 360 Elite and a PS3. But untill that happens, which I don't think will happen any time soon, I'll stick with my Elite, especially considering the majority of the games and game series i play, Forza Motorsports, Halo, Left4Dead and Rainbow Six: Vegas, just to name a few, are on the 360.
And as for the online portion of the battle, since i don't have any experience with the Playsation Network I can't really pass a judgement on it. I will say when I'm at home or my house at school, the lag issue isn't horrible(unless someone is downloading and forgot to mention it XD). as for paying for Xbox Live Gold, I really don't mind paying for the service especially.
For me, Blu-Ray isn't a big deal with me because that means I have to spend more money to get a movie. Now if Sony would lower the price of the PS3 or i could find a barely used on on the cheap side I would think about investing in Blu-Ray DVD, especially Iron Man and The Dark Knight XD...
Now I saw someone had mention the Nintendo Wii, while it is a fun system to play with friends, I have the some of the same problems with the Wii that I have with the PS3....mainly the lack of good 3rd party games. and thats all i'll say on the Wii.
As for Project Natal, I don't think we will see a marketable version of Natal for a couple more years considering there are a lot of issues that they need to work on. the first is going to be the price, like Chavez mentioned. The combination of the software and hardware needed to make the system work properly is going to be high. During E3, they mentioned that the system would have facial and vocal recognition abilities. which means its gonna need a decent camera, a decent microphone and the software to run those system. Its also going to need the software to recognize what the gamer is doing and translate it into the actions and movements on screen. While I do find the concept interesting and would like to experience it, i still think i'll prefer the standard controller for my games.
Lets see, what else do I have to say about this...*thinks to myself*I mention ed the cost and games issues, online community, bluray, wii, project natal...is there anything else......*in a Jeremy Clarkson voice* why yes there is XD
oh yeah...I agree with Chavez that the PS3 has the ability to last up to 20 years on the market without needing too many upgrades. thats one of the reason where I look at the 400-500 dollar price tag and say to myself..yeah i could see not having to upgrade the console as often and only if they had more games I was interested in. And when Chavez quoted the specs of the PS3(which i honestly have never looked at before reading this thread and the debate he had with devlin) I can say that the PS3 has A LOT more potential then the Xbox 360.
and now i think i'll move onto my final thought on this discussion, and that is asthetics. for the Xbox 360, i think the matte black of the Elite is a much better look then the Glossy Black/Silver of the PS3. I also feel that the shape and design of the 360 is a lot more appealing because you can stand the system up if space is an issue or lay it flat. where as I don't think you can do that with the PS3, but I could be wrong. I like the subtle arcs on the sides of the 360 more then the arc of the PS3. As with the aesthetics of the console, i like the feel and look of the 360's controller, especially how the thumb sticks are laid out, which makes the controller much better for the FPS, which requires quick thumbs and trigger fingers. I also feel that its better for the racing games because of the "triggers". I believe that the thinner "trigger" allows me to better control the throttle of the cars which allows me to better control the cars in the games. As for the looks of the controller, the 360 feels more comfortable in my hand and looks like an evolution of the original S controller where the PS3 controller just looks like a PS2 controller with more features in it. I am glad that sony didn't go with the original concept for the controller because i would have died of laughter if they did that. I also like the fact that you can get the controllers in more then just one color. I have the black controller that came with the elite, the blue controller(which is my favorite) and the red controller. all three have custom LED mods (blue and black controllers have blue leds and the red controller has red leds..can put pictures up if you want to see them).
and finally i think i'm done XD wow i can't believe i wrote that much at 130 in the morning...
I like how nobody responded to my argument.Graphics aren't everything.
Xbox is better than the PS3 for gaming.
Sure, PS3 has better hardware, but there hasn't been any games good enough to push that hardware to use.
Yes, PSN is free, but it's terrible compared to Xbox Live. And it's only 50$ for an entire year.
We've got more exclusives, we've got a cheaper console, we've got less system issues, we don't have to install games to our hard drive to play them, face it, Xbox owns.
And don't even try the RROD argument, you can fix those yourself VERY easily for around 10 bucks.
(I've fixed mine before.)
Which argument? This is your first post in this thread.I like how nobody responded to my argument.![]()
Oh damn lol he got told!Which argument? This is your first post in this thread.
