This is the only thing that I have always felt doubtful about, I don't understand why the writer has intended this...:sy:

Is Naruto the Manga really being aimed at children by Kishimoto?!

WHY IS THAT?

No one without a certain level of maturity and understanding of our world can truly interpret this story. Someone who has never felt any sort of hardship and pain in his life can never relate to, or understand the characters, and I don't mean that your parents yelled at you or grounded you.

The only things that have ever interested the majority of veiwers are the various fight scenes and the powers. Things that don't really exist. Like jutsu, or Sharingan or tailed beasts.....

But the things that do exist and happen in our real world everyday hold very little to no importance to anyone except maybe a handful of people in the entire world. Which are undoubtedly the true objects of expression of the writer.

For example:

Losing your parents and everyone you know and care about, to war or someone else's peace.

Murdering your own kin for power.

Growing up an orphan without knowing love or warmth and always being shunned away and hated.

Living in a world full of nothing but lies and dishonesty which is slowly heading towards its own destruction.

Being used like objects for someone else's personal gain and then being discarded like trash.

Those^ are just a few examples of the factual truths about our world, these things happen everyday, are happening, right now!

How can children who have never missed a Christmas present and are ignorant to the daily workings of our world ever understand something like that?

No one ever tries to look beyond their own entertainment.....

Naruto is a fictional universe which doesn't have to relate to our World in anyway. If that's what you asked >_>
I just gave you 5 examples of how it does, want more? Why is there so much ignorance on a website about a story that awakens you to these happenings in our world?

Children who arent on this forum and are currently going through those things are.....can't say the same for the rest....

People can't understand those things until it happens to them or someone close to them...it's just how human nature works.
What this guy said. The whole world works with people taking instead of giving. It revolves around conflict of negative thoughts with positive ones. Those feelings and behavior are built in our nature. The Shonen Jump means a protagonist who wears light and usually is a light-hearted character. That does not guarantee that it will only be for children.

BTW, Shippuden follows a trope called "Darker and Edgier" "iSpeak the Truth", so it makes sense.

so all your saying is in order to enjoy naruto you need to know what suffering is and if that is what you are saying then thats just dumb this is a manga for entertainment people will take what they want from naruto if naruto has given you anew light on life good for you if you just want to be entertained fine thats great to like for me naruto has changed the way i think about other people and how pain inflicts everyone but that is what i took from it but im not going to judge somebody for reading it for there own reasons. this manga is aimed at 10 and up and im pretty sure kishi isnt writing this for the people who have suffered.

Human nature has deteriorated significantly, we are close to the end of our reign on this planet unless something drastic changes that course.
@OP: Amazing I totally agree with you! :D
thanks.......I guess.....
I'm pretty sure it just relates to those who like manga. nothing more, nothing less
Well that part is hilariously obvious, a manga relating to manga readers. I am talking about the story....

It's a shonen manga, not a seinen manga. I'm pretty sure someone told this before. Shonen is aimed at boys, while seinen is aimed at adult men.
So yes, Kishimoto-sensei aims at a young public with his manga. Look at the label of the manga - that was already an answer to your question.

Also a lot of manga and even books deal with things that most people don't experience. Does that mean that the message (if the manga/book contains such a thing) can't be brought over if the reader hasn't shared the same experience?
No, most people can clearly imagine how such experiences would feel like in real life. That's called having an imagination. If everyone had to experience the same things as the main characters in books/manga, then damn, everyone would be pretty miserable.

And yes, some people won't understand the character's action/motive to do something if they don't understand how an experience changed that character's personality. However a lot of people can to a degree understand what the characters are going through.

Does this mean we have to act all philosophical about a shonen manga that is classified in the genre action? No. The manga was created with the aim to draw readers in the shinobi world and to let the readers enjoy the story.
I'm pretty certain Kishimoto-sensei is already happy if people enjoy his story - he doesn't require people to analyze the story; they just need to enjoy it and if people can imagine how certain characters feel in certain scenes, then it's a bonus for him, because all authors want to make sure the emotions and thoughts of the characters are brought over well.

This story, among a lot of other things, has significantly raised my awareness to pain as well. You can enjoy or hate anything without knowing anything at all, but in order to know joy, you must know a certain level of disdain. I am saying, in order to truly understand someone or even attempt it, you must know the same pain or something that is relatively close.

Imagination is usable for kindergarteners during play time. You can maybe experience with your imagination, what it feels like for a moment, not every minute of everyday of your life.

If you pass off this story as just another form of entertainment, then I have never seen such waste.

dude this entire manga is based on one guys imagination some parts may be close to how kishi grew up but he has never suffered the way that the characters in this series have and yes it is another form of entertainment kishi wants people to enjoy naruto and be entertained. most people will read naruto for entertainment not to be preached at about how the world is and how they should think.
