They were already doing that even before Luffy crash-landed in Marineford. He's not stronger than most VA's before the Time Skip. It's only the lack of feats against them that suggest that they're weaker than Luffy, yet we see that they're Rokushiki AND Haki users, same thing that Luffy is. Momonga takes it even one step further and uses a sword. Doberman has a Dalmatian Zoan.

Unless Luffy lolstomps Big Mam or something like that, he's not reaching Akainu and Kizaru's level.

DO not forgot luffy was continuously fighting in Impel down ,all he had was 3 to hours rest to marineford .Ivan had to use the emergency hormone on him twice ,that was his condition .He was already exhausted from his continuous fighting . Do you really think that dalmation guy was more exhausted than luffy .how many guys that the dalmation guy fight ? but there is ample evidence to support that luffy took down several vice admirals even while he was not in his full strength and over exhausted.

You know how the strongest characters in one piece have some conneciton to each other, whitebeard even once talked about him, garp and sengoku getting old and was thinking of "those times" although they´re enemies and are the leaders of opposite sides.

I think if the gorosei were really that strong then they would be refered to by whitebeard and garp atleast once like all the other big shots.

Why would they be reffered by Whitebeard if he never met them and why would someone mention them if they always sit on their asses in their office? They were the same Gorosei 20+ years ago when Garp was hunting Roger, Sengoku was admiral and Kong was Fleet-Admiral. So I doubt anyone would have seen them in action.

Some people believe they aren't even from this century. With the "Bonney" hint dropped on us and the fact that they haven't aged at all in 20+ years (unlike any other character in manga; Edit : except Shakky ><).

Side note : World Nobles are ****ed up even beyond pirate standarts. I know they are descendants of the creators of WG but they are worse than any criminals or the lowest of scum. Shouldn't some decent marines like Garp or Sengoku already dealt with them? But, no, they put their job and names to shame by closing eyes on the doings of these evil bastards. There has to be a reason why they do that and it's not just following the code because they are already breaking it by not doing anything about this matter.

^ Imagine situation where Garp and Sengoku are walking down the street. They come a cross a World Noble. Child accidentaly bumps into him. He pulls his gun and shoots the child without the hesitation, then shoots the panicking mother and few other people just because he's pissed. Why in the world would Garp and Sengoku put up with this? They are not even their superiors. They should put them all against the wall or in jails. If the WG have any problems with it, they should arrest them too and put better people in their place. Why are they putting up with corrupted government? Shouldn't they have took care of it?

remember that zoro back then is nowhere near mihawk skill, but if it shanks i doubt mihawk will use that kitchen knife otherwise he will get raped

The only 2 Vice Admirals there was the Dalmatian guy and the guy with the Mohawk. And Luffy lost to both of them.

Giants are only VA's because of their strength and nothing more. The more human-like VA's are overall more skilled than the giants.

Don't mix up the Giant squad with real vice admirals.

As far as I know only Ronse (whitebeard beat him with one hand)
John Giant (Whitebeard beat him later on with a huge earthquake)
Lacroix (Beaten by Oars) were Vice admirals.

The giant Luffy beat with gear 3rd was just a regular giant, part of the giant squad:
