Honestly who cares who was stronger. I'd say they're both even. It just a shame we really haven't seen anything about hiruzen in his prime.

But back on subject. Hiruzen - strongstr hokage ever, strongest kage of his generation, god of shinobi.

Hashirama - his strength was like a fairy tail.

Their hype is faily even, hiruzen probably has a slight edge. We just dont have any feats to back it up with.

Theres also that whole 'the new generation surpasses the previous generation' thing and hiruzen was hashirama's student.

Also, remember kabuto did say that no one ALIVE is close to being as strong to hashirama...

The evidence is everywhere kiddo, you better look for answers yourself. You will never grow if you will just sit and wait for someone to feed you information. By the looks of it, you have more questions than answers.

First of all, we are comparing Hiruzen and Hashirama .. nothing more and nothing less. Your logic is relatively dull, if you keep believing in your half baked theories that Hashirama is more powerful because he can control bijuus or even took out Madara single handedly.

The same thing applies with a "Tank", it's a powerful weapon, but not an effective weapon to kill a fly. Fundamentals will tell you that everything has a advantage and disadvantage. Hashirama can control the Bijuu, but this doesn't mean that his invincible.

Yet again, the proof of Hiruzen's vast knowledge of Jutsu is his library. Hiruzen is noted to have known 1000 jutsu, if not, all Konoha's jutsu including the forbidden ones. Hiruzen was able to diffuse the EDO summoning of the 4th Hokage..meaning he knew about the technique.

Knowing and even materering 1000 jutsu is a testament of how good and powerful a shinobi had become. Hiruzen isn't a fool, he for sure had mastered a healing jutsu obviously.

When Hiruzen came into power as Hokage, no one dared to attack Konoha. Considering there were 2 shinobi world wars during his reign. Even Danzo and his ANBU root obeyed the 3rd Hokage without a single question.

Before you make your reply, please see the difference of what is Old and what is Young.

Tell me the difference between strong and weak. If Hiruzen knew 1000 jutsu's, why didnt he use all 1000 of them on Kurama or Orochimaru? Even at old age he was considered strong right? We've never seen his "1000 jutsu's" in play

Hashirama controlling bijuu's doesnt mean he's invisible but it means he has a sh1t load of power that Hiruzen cant do. Hashriama being invisible is his healing powers he has that matches if not greater than tsunade, who's healing is the best so far in this manga.

The greatest enemies admire Hashirama. None has ever talked about Hiruzen as great as they do to Hashirama. That means something coming from the enemy side and not to mention the good stuff being said from the good side.

Hiruzen's only been in one fight as far as we know and he died in that fight. This professor of 1000 jutsu should have been able to defeat Orochimaru without a problem. If he caant even kill orochimaru then he cant defeat Hashirama without a doubt. Hash is a legend.

It's stated that in the previous manga chapters that the 5 kages are nowhere in near the power of both hashirama and madara. Don't you think that you overrating him too much? The manga itself said it.

We didn't say that hashirama was invincible bec of the bijuu and the bijuu was too much for hiruzen too handle alone.

It doesn't matter that he knows a ton of jutsu but do you think that he can use that all at hashirama? Probably all hokages after the invention of edo tensei knows how to disable it.

Founding konoha and defeating madara + controlling several bijuu's is also enough to say how strong and great shinobi hashirama is also right?

if you read what the anbu people said, you would know that his chakra levels declined greatly since his prime and he couldn't use any high level jutsu

Sarutobi when saw Kurama told everyone to wait for Minato... If he was such a strong old man as you say then he would be useful helping Minato handling Kurama and maybe, just maybe Naruto would have his parents alive...

God, people don't understand yet that in naruto there are ONLY a few people who can do ANYTHING to kyuubi

defeating kyuubi in a fight 1v1 is impossible, even nagato tried and failed.. and that was HALF kyuubi...

no ninja can defeat kyuubi in a fight without the use of seals, moukuton(to supress chakra) or sharingan (to gain control, or amaterasu)

The only people in the village who was fitted for fighting a tailed beast was minato because he was taught uzumaki seals...
it's simple as that..

does that say minato is stronger than tobirama? NO , he was just more fitted for sealing kyuubi because he was skilled in fuinjutsu..

i have to disagree with you about the control of the tailed beast but hear me out. It wasnt that hashirama could make the tailed beast his bitches or even that he could beat them, BUTT he could SUPRESS there chakra so that they were controllable.. if he didnt have that power to supress then he would have a way harder time dealing with them.. and hiruzen did push nine tails out of village.

That's the point! He had the mokuton and this gave him the upperhand so why take it away from him if he already has it? Don't say if he didn't have this, he didn't have that he will be a weakling it's been done so stop changing it.
