The clone entered into the Graveyard of Sin, surveying the area looking out over the massive land. Kushasogen may have been the first land the Golden Sabbath took in, but this one was the one Sado himself felt the most attachment to for whatever reason. The name and its barren empty landscape made him feel like it held an almost limitless potential to it. Moreso than Kushasogen which just felt like the standard land. Surprisingly it was nearly untouched due to it's inhospitable and almost dangerous terrain. The wide-open desert area, and the numerous cliff-faces and caverns made for a hard terrain to survive in.
However, the clone had a plan for that as he stood in silence reading through a set of scrolls that seemed more like a manual than a scroll that told a story. As he read through the old forgotten knowledge from the scrolls he had obtained long ago, he realized that the Great Roads of the Gulf was an interesting read. The Freehold may have ended in a corrupt mess of bribes, debt, and death but they damn sure understood bureaucracy. It explained how to settle a land and how to begin building up trade supplies such as food, livestock and other commodities and how to promote trade between neighboring lands and more than that how to build proper roads for trade and commerce between the current settlement, their immediate neighbors, and their distant foreign ones.
The clone rolled the scroll back up as he cracked his knuckles lightly before popping the bones in his shoulders and neck. First, the sand which was the base of the land as a whole, it had to be replaced with fertile and nutrient rich ground. From the information, he had gathered crops needed dense, moist, soil. There were no homes to worry about yet, so what came next was the dumb idea he had thought up earlier. He had a technique one used to destroy, one he had even used to sink and kill numerous enemies. However, compounding that technique with another technique maybe it could be something more. Maybe it could be the basis for a new land a whole new settlement, a farming and trading settlement for the people he had brought in from Qindong. One hand seal, that he held for a long time swiftly shifted into another hand seal as he slammed his hands down onto the ground. This was his last chance to think about it but after this moment it was done.
A massive amount of the ground shifted in-consistency from its coarse rough sand-like texture as it was infused with rich earthen chakra it became like mud. A thick, dense and sticky landscape as far as the eye could see. It was deep like a trench of mud and liquid as the old sand-like ground gave way to liquid-rich swamp water converting even portions of the cliffs and caverns to mud sinking a few of them as they too turned to dense nutrient-rich mud. It was a heavy and exuberant substance which extended out for nearly the entire landmark and being more than fifty meters deep. To anyone watching this action they might think he was stupid or dense for doing this.

This was a technique used to destabilize opponents and sink them till they drown how could it ever be used to give life to something else. Without a pause, the clone slapped his right hand down upon the mud causing a rippling effect that sloshed along the top of the swamp-like land. What followed it was a pulse of earthen chakra carrying outward throughout the entire swamp as the massive gelatinous mass swayed and jiggled it slowly began to shift again.
This time the moisture being concentrated into the ground as the excess moisture as pulled from the ground creating a soft, and loamy, finely packed, soil similar to moisture-rich dirt-clods that slowly broke apart creating a layer of rich soil for miles. The clone stood back up looking out across the field taking in his first small deed. It was a start. He thought to himself in silence as he pulled out the small vial of blood from his creator for use in an emergency to summon Salazzle to have her reverse summon Sado.

The irony of this action was that nearly all the way across the Land of Fire in another part of the world in a small land named
The caverns he thought, they were maze-like in nature and hardly anyone knew of them and their nature. A while back he had created a mental map of them when he first entered these lands using a Pressure Sensing technique to know of their innate structure and how to traverse them. Everyone in the adjacent lands knew that so very few people traversed through them and that those who tried to map them out usually died in pursuit of a fool's errand. They were out of the way and the public's eye and they connected with most of the surrounding lands through subterranean tunnels that created hidden ways to traverse the lands. Entering into the caves the clone slowly mapped them out in his mind as he closed off tunnels that lead to nothing sending trace amount of chakra throughout the area to map the pressure of the caverns and earth once more.
He cleared out the numerous dead ends by using his earthen chakra to collapse several tunnels that lead to nothingness causing debris and rubble to collapse inward shunting off pointless or irrelevant junctions. The empty tunnels became sealed and segregated away from the rest as he fused the rubble together to create walls using the same technique he had earlier to shift the structure of the soft portions of the rubble and dust into a mass of solid rock. He left three remaining tunnels that converged in the center of the massive cavern.
One of these tunnels would lead directly northward toward Takinomori to an opening near the massive land. The second lead southward directly to Kushasogen and finally the last tunnel would lead directly into the heart of the Graveyard of Sin creating an evacuation route between these three landmarks. As well as a hidden trade route should it even be needed where food, objects, items, currency or any other thing could be subtlely and stealthily traded among the Golden Sabbath and the White Lotus.
By dislodging all of the weak-points he made it so that it would be nearly impossible for a cavern in to happen and thus these caverns were incredibly structurally sound. Additionally, by using the pressure sensing technique he was able to make sure there were no points where there was excess pressure or force making the caverns incredibly resilient and defensive.

As the clone exited the caverns he walked toward the center of the land once again looking out through the area. It was now much different the sand-dunes and nearly inhospitable land had given way to fertile grounds with the dense, moist, dirt he knew it needed. He quickly used the vial of blood he had left over from his creator to summon forth several salamanders all of varying heights roughly ten in total. Some were as small as five meters tall with some all the way up to nearly thirty meters in height. He explained what he needed them to do and how they could do it. The four larger ones were to create irrigation tunnels through the newly crafted dirt by burrowing through the lands and mapping out the underground areas crafting parallel tunnels throughout the land. The rest everything fifteen meters and smaller were to use their bodies and their tales to craft farmlands by tilling the ground turning the top-layer of soil while in unison creating recesses in the ground. The six smaller ones did as instructed some rolling around on the ground to lift and raise the soil while others drug their tails along the ground creating small trenches in the soft soil. Before they did this the clone unsealed a large amount of the supplies from earlier as he fitted the salamander with large bags of seeds and produce which they used their tails to shift into the large soil-lined trenches burring the seeds and sprouts. First, the clone had them create two large patches of farmland for the numerous vegetables creating a few acres of farmland to the south of the Graveyard of Sin adjacent to Kushasogen. Next, he directed them to move northward as they traveled upward toward Takinomori creating another few fields where the grains were planted. Finally at the top of the landmass nearest to Takinomori Sado had the salamander plant numerous apple tree. This would work a whole lot better if he had a way to make them grow over-night but he didn't so it would take time and effort. As the final amount of farmland was built a lot of the salamander dispersed the ones from underground rising to the surface after they had created numerous irrigation tunnels throughout the land. The last thing he had to do was build the actual roads. He remembered back to something Korra had done and would ask her to do it here when she had a chance. He remembered she could build numerous homes rather easily with a summoning creature she had.

The clone now nearly completely done began to walk throughout the land raising sections of the ground to craft numerous roads primarily connecting Kushasogen, the Graveyard of Sin and Takinomori. However adjacent strips of earth were raised a few inches to craft adjacent roads connecting all of the other lands surrounding the Graveyard of Sin with it. The roads seemed stronger than the normal ground surrounding them being infused with earthen chakra. He rose numerous sections of the ground a mere inch or two so that the roads themselves were even and well built allowing easy travel by foot, by cart or even by animal. The roads were well paved and rather pristine as he used the information obtained from the guide to gain an intuitive understanding on how to place these roads.
One large massive road was crafted connecting Kushasogen, to Takinomori as the road traveled north to south. Another smaller road was created to run perpendicular to that one creating a massive cross throughout the lands. This partitioned the land into four large sections with farmlands in each section. The clone continued by crafting sprawling smaller roads connecting the numerous farmlands so that food could be traded quickly when needed. There seemed to be one central point in the entire land where all the roads met in a sort of roundabout.
This seemed to be where the clone imagined a trade-based city to be placed. However, it was weird seeing a land with no buildings the clone would need to discuss that with Korra soon. Completely finished with everything he thought he could do he began to move southward toward Takinomori yawning excessively as if nearly exhausted by his actions. As he prepared to leave he created numerous pockets of fresh water underground almost forgetting about the irrigation tunnels. These could sustain the land for months until actual farmers could be moved into the lands to work them.

While this clone was using it to build and help that other clone who had taken to calling himself Smith was using Swamp of the Underworld to sink and kill dozens if not hundreds of shinobi to defend a far away land. One large massive road was crafted connecting Kushasogen, to Takinomori as the road traveled north to south. Another smaller road was created to run perpendicular to that one creating a massive cross throughout the lands. This partitioned the land into four large sections with farmlands in each section. The clone continued by crafting sprawling smaller roads connecting the numerous farmlands so that food could be traded quickly when needed. There seemed to be one central point in the entire land where all the roads met in a sort of roundabout.
This seemed to be where the clone imagined a trade-based city to be placed. However, it was weird seeing a land with no buildings the clone would need to discuss that with Korra soon. Completely finished with everything he thought he could do he began to move southward toward Takinomori yawning excessively as if nearly exhausted by his actions. As he prepared to leave he created numerous pockets of fresh water underground almost forgetting about the irrigation tunnels. These could sustain the land for months until actual farmers could be moved into the lands to work them.

Other than being moved below ground relative to the surrounding surface the terrain is not altered, plant life and people retaining their same positions.

They don't form too deep in the ground, but about a meter or two beneath the surface. They can be used only as a source for other water techniques.
