"there can't be two roosters in the hen house"

This is an old quote I've heard throughout my life and it has been shown to hold true.

The modern media promotion of bucking traditional gender roles is having an adverse affect on the modern American family. When you have kids someone has to take a step back in their career or you need to make enough money to find a nanny(something most families can't afford).

More and more women are being told that it isn't necessarily their job to take care of the kids, and while I kinda agree, it is destroying the American family. This notion started taking place in the 1970's( if you look, divorce rates also started to jump in the 70's)

the results are clear

The average income for single mothers is $26,000 a year. The average income for a married couple is $84,000.

this is another example of people with good intentions harming the people they intend to help. Women are hurting themselves and their children by trying to be men, which is causing more government dependence and helps foster un-balanced children.

In all honesty I don't think there is anything wrong in what u have stated. It displays a perfectly rational point of view, but most of all I want to see if this thread starts any fireworks.

Yep this right here. People need to accept change so we can evolve as a species. All this close mindedness will only lead to more conflicts from both sides. It's time for a revolution. There's a new coalition of people :gays, minorities, women etc their voices are started to be heard eventually people will understand these backward ideals is what's causing all these problems.

What??? The stats don't lie. It creates more poverty, which creates more crime and government dependence. FACT.

GTFO with that shit. Provide some logic for your argument please.

Lets look at the most poor people in America blacks and hispanics

blacks are 67% single parents, compared to the 24% of whites, 40% of hispanics compared to 16 percent for asians,. DO you not see a correlation?

Stay ignorant then

EVOLVE?

you know they had Female Empresses and Leaders of great Nation in the Past, and also had Gay Couples in Ancient Greece and Rome (that was accepted) until......

We humans are Going back not Forward.

Is this a Good thing or Bad thing in the modern world is yet to be seen .

If the father's income isn't enough to support the family then yeah she must get a job. If however his income is sufficient then she should stay home and nurture the their children

All I know is I was raised by single mother and I'm doing fine
Well then you are the exception, not the rule. And unless your father was abusive and had no income, how can you deny your life would be better with him?
Shout out to the thug life.

Is this implying you could take advantage of my " youth and inexperience" on this topic? If so I say bring it, i've got all the empirical evidence on my side

don't really see a problem with a women getting the job and the guy staying at home, vice versa. i just don't see why the man being the source of income is pushed so much.

I don't think it's hurting really, I mean families have always had issues. Based on the time period and economy.

Prior to the 70's divorce was shameful, that's a big part why it happened less. Also women didn't have as good of rights in the work place. It makes more sense to have your wife work at home with the family instead of being sexually harassed and not payed well at work.

I do believe there are natural gender roles that take place and should. But society telling you to act a certain way because your were born a certain way is silly.

"prior to the 1970's divorce was shameful". No prior to the 1970's divorce wasn't feasible for women. Enter LBJ and his "great society". All of a sudden, it became "feasible" for women to divorce their man and have welfare to fall back on.

I'll let Thomas Sowell explain the effects of welfare

Mighty coincidence that the bra burning 70's coincided with the largest jump in divorces
