I honestly couldnt care less if he was white black or orange he will always still be jesus the only people who would care are racists on ether side of that arguement

You are really stupid. This is my African History being whitewashed, looking over ALL those lead roles you just kindly presented and picking white people to play egyption roles

Its a movie not history channel factual history and entertainment dont mix its common sense

I noticed that people were mentioning that all of the gods were white and not nonwhite. Where are the black and brown people? This movie is suppose to be about Ancient Egyptians. I've never seen a movie about Greeks and Greek Gods played by an all black cast. I don't Hollywood would ever make such a movie. Oh god and that guy's accent who talks to the girl.

Why?? I know it's not hard for Hollywood to find black people for movies. They did a good job with Blood Diamond, 12 years a slave, and other movies that depict black people as poor, inferior sub-species, and such. But with a movie about gods and royalty it's impossible for Hollywood. Think about all the children going to go see this movie. This is an awful way to teach kids about Ancient Egypt. That movie exodus was bad, why are the doing this Christian Bale and Gerard Butler?

Hollywood is amazing :sdo:

Note: I use African and Black interchangeably. Anyone of African/Black descent is black to me and I mean those other cultures like the Israelites and Latin Americans and such.

why are people surprised? they think jesus is white with blue eyes and brown straight hair. lol

They look like Greek Gods tbh. They could at least soray tanned but then that'd be tacky.
There are lots of Egyptian actors dunno what they were thinking lol

I can see where they're coming from though, tbh. The white anthropologists and historians during the colonial era mendaciously rewrote history and gave birth to the racialist notion of history where blacks are at the bottom and whites at the top. After all, they aver, how can blacks be civilized if they've never had a history? The one civilization however that completely defied those racialist canards was Ancient Egypt, which is why the racist nexus of movie makers, historians and anthropologists got busy writing Egypt as a purely white land, for how can blacks create a civilization as sophisticated as Egypt? Even though the racialist era of history is a bygone era, several vestiges still linger, such as Hollywood's racism towards all minorities and deification of whites. The fact that Hollywood can't resist peddling stereotypes of minorities and glorifying whites is seen by many is intransigent racism.

It is just a movie to many, but to the minorities who've had their entire history rewritten and civilizations omitted and even plagiarized by some, this innocuous movie seems to evoke the ethos of a nefarious era in world history that many people want to forget but hollywood's perpetuation of racialist legacies doesn't help
I don't get it so the whites would say the Egyptians were white cuz they were a big empire but then when it came down to the Ghana, Mali, etc empires they decided to not care and let them be black?

this movie is retarded but I don't see how that makes sense

Racists are those who dont identify with other ethnicities views and are insensitive to the history and struggles they've gone through, to the point that they are just downright disrespectful to other races.

You are a Racist, and you dont know it. Sorry 2 tell you. Representation matters. And you shouldnt be so outspoken over something you clearly can even understand. All you understand is how to disrespect others while imposing your views.

That's not the point, representation still matters. You probably wouldn't understand the importance of needing to be represented because you never have to worry about that. Another example of white privilege

This is done in history and in movies, just check history channel's depictions of ancient egypt. And they do mix, songs relating to history are taught to kindergarten children so they can remember, the music also serves as entertainment.

I see you're one of those people, Colorblindness does not exist. Stop using the word racist wrong. You underestimate the effect such things have on children and society.

Someone should make a movie about the Atlantic Slave Trade or Civil War, but have all the Europeans and white people be played by Mexicans.

Authors and literary writers have asserted multiple times that the lack of representation can be detrimental to African American children. Look up articles like "Reading in Color." People severely underestimate the effect art, and representation in art, have on others.

There is plenty of blacks in good guy roles and music and sports are predominently black

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I hardly have seen a single black person irl throughout my entire life, so it's only natural that I wouldn't feel empathy on this matter. But I see your point.

Thank you I understand. Its really diverse gere in Miami so no problems there.

Lool no but yes your right a little. Before they had golden but darker skin thats true.

My uncle has that golden tan-ish white skin you're talking about. I still consider him black I wil do the same with modern Egyptians. There's some percent of negroid in them. But now it's slowly fading away.

Sure but they more like mixed. Not fully negroid, so its fine to have white actors play them,

Afterall we're all humans not matter what our colors are

These people are found all over africa, are you saying with all its resources hollywood can't find people that look like the above? :lol

Black people don't all look the same, just go to Africa and you would find very different looking people. The only thing they share would be their dark skin. Ancient Egyptians were never gold colored neither did they ever look like modern Egyptians. Modern Egyptians are closer to the modern turkik Arabs of the middle east.

The first Egyptians were White. Pharaos were also White, but they mostly race mixed.

If we talk about the first Egyptians, then it's right that they're shown White. Later ofc, not so much.

Your forgetting that the country next to egypt was sudan and basically it was one country. Before egypt and sudan were one. So the people that were drawn/on the pic are obviously from the south. They're were some phaorahs that had the same skins as a black person because of the mate.

They're were golden-tan'd people (north of egypt) and the black ones (from the south of egypt) which is sudan now
