"You'll never be a real ninja!" Shouts the random passerby.
Y U DO THIS D:

Dean makes his way to the training grounds, where he finds a young student who he had to teach in the art of Genjutsu. Lately, it had been Elijah who would handle the Genjutsu sessions, but Dean felt like it was time for him to teach someone again. Nonetheless, he wore his usual attire, which consisted of a blue jean, a black shirt and dark shoes. This was all covered by his Nekura cloak. He also wore a small bag on his back, which contained several scrolls.

"Hello there, I am Dean Winchester of the Nekura clan. I will be teaching you the art of Genjutsu. Tell me what you know about Genjutsu? Anything relevant about Genjutsu that you know."

Dean waits his student's answer.

Well genjutsu is an art of the shinobi that you typically don't see as much as Taijutsu or Genjutsu. But that doesn't mean it isn't as effective. Genjutsu can be used in many ways to confuse, paralyze or even put the opponent to sleep.

Chriss waits for his sensei to respond

Dean listens to his student, who had very little knowledge on Genjutsu. This was almost the case every time, and Dean luckily had a large amount of knowledge on the subject at hand.

"You still didn't tell me exactly what Genjutsu is. Yes, its an art performed by shinobi, but how exactly does it work? How do you confuse, paralyze or put your opponent to sleep, like you said? Do you have any prior knowledge on this?"

Dean asked, before he would help out his student.

Let me give you a hint for future trainings, put in some effort to how your character would respond, even if you don't know anything. Unlike myself, some sensei only reply after several days, and when they only see one sentence, they might feel a bit discouraged, yeah?

Like for example, I could say the same thing as you did, with more effort, for example;

Chriss heard his sensei ask him about Genjutsu. He didn't have a large knowledge on the subject at hand, and was a bit embarassed that he couldn't impress his sensei. Nonetheless, Chriss would let out a large sigh, as he would then state;

"Sorry sensei, all I know about Genjustu induction is that one has to inject one's chakra into the opponent's mind. From there on, I am not too sure.."

Chriss says, with his face now a bit red due to not knowing that much.
Something like that, yeah?

Dean heard his student reply, and even though he wasn't that impressed with it, he could give the student the knowledge he attained over the times.

"Its something like that, yes. Once an illusion is cast on an opponent through the use of chakra, the illusion will cause the opponent's chakra flow to be disturbed or unbalanced and thus, cause false images, sensations etc which affect the five senses. To explain it a bit better, a normal person's chakra, when not affected by an illusion, is balanced and stable. A perfect balance between spiritual and physical energies.

Now, when an illusion is induced on an opponent, their balance, is then affected and the flow is unbalanced, or scrambled. This allows the user of the illusion to mess with the opponent's five senses, like hearing, tasting, smelling, touch and sight. Do you understand the concept, or should I break it down a bit more?"

Dean asks, knowing that Genjutsu can be a bit complex sometimes.

Chriss listens intently.
I think that's a well enough explanation sensei. I have to say, Genjutsu wasn't my strong suit in the academy. But I do have a question. Can D or even C rank genjutsu stall my opponent enough for me to deliver a Kunai strike to their heart? I'm talking about S-Jounin and Jounin ranks ninjas by the way.

Chriss listens eagerly hoping his sensei will say yes

That's better!

Dean hears Chriss ask a question about Genjutsu. He wasn't surprised, and this wouldn't be the first time, since Genjutsu was known to be extremely complex.

"It all depends on the Genjutsu that is used, some are easy to realize and break, and others require a bit more time. It also depends on the range, are close to the opponent when you use it, but we'll cover that when we get to the techniques. Genjutsu requires quite a bit of knowledge before we get into it, since you will require this knowledge in order to perform Genjutsu correctly. Genjutsu is a bit more complex than elemental techniques.

Anyway, Genjutsu usualy requires some form of a trigger to be done. This trigger can be in the form of hand seals, light, sound, eye contact etc. Remember this. Nonetheless, how would you detect that you are in a Genjutsu? How would you be able to know if I placed you in a Genjutsu right now?"

Dean asks, trying to move the training forward.

Chriss smiles and says, Well considering Genjutsu disrupts the flow of the opponents chakra, I would probably be able to tell by my chakra or by using common sense. Like if my opponent used a genjutsu to make me believe there was water rushing at me even though there is no water source present. Either they have an extremely good mastery of Suiton or it is a genjutsu. Basically I can tell by checking my chakra flow to see if it is disrupted. If it is I can spike my chakra to break out of the genjutsu.

Chriss waits for his sensei to add a few details he most likely missed.

Dean listens intently, and decides to quickly test his student, before moving on to the next part of the training.

"Very good, one can always make an educated guess based on what you are seeing, hearing etc. That's why one should be calm in battle. You mentioned checking your chakra flow, how would you do this?"

Dean asks, his face a bit more welcoming than when the training started.

Well sensei, chakra flows through out your body so my guess is that I would just be able to feel the difference in chakra if that makes any sense. But other than that I can't honestly say I know how other than having sensing abilities or a dojutsu. Genjutsu the only thing in the academy that I wasn't number one in if you couldn't tell. says Chriss as he grabs the back of his head and laughs as if he is embarrassed

"One can't "feel" the difference without some form of help. Only Doujutsu and Sensors can see and feel the imbalance in the chakra flow. We without it, have to handle with making an educated guess, through using what you can perceive as support for your conclusion. Anyway, now that we have covered how one can perceive that one is in a Genjutsu. Now I say I have now induced an illusion on you, how would you break it?"

Dean asks, now moving the training a step forward.

By stopping my chakra from flowing and then spiking it to it's max. In most cases that should break genjutsu

Chriss says kind of embarrassed on his lack of knowledge on genjutsu

Well i'd assume I would stop it by focusing on my central chakra spot (stomach) and stopping it from sending chakra around my body. And then releasing a lot of it at once. I can't remember what the name of the scroll was that I read it in.

Chriss says trying to remember who said it

"No, let me try and break it up for ya. There are three ways to break Genjutsu. We'll start with the first way:

1. Using Pain to break the Genjutsu. Remember the balance I spoke of, physical and spiritual balance? Well, pain is physical, and let's the physical energy fluctuate when your body experiences pain. This fluctuation spikes the balance of the chakra flow, and brings the flow back to normal. This breaks the Genjutsu.

Now you might be wondering, "How would I know how pain is needed to break a specific Genjutsu?"

Aha, there is a guide."

D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping a Finger (like one does as he bites to draw blood for a Summoning Jutsu)
C Rank Genjutsu: Low level Physical Attacks, Bitting a chunk of your Cheek
B Rank Genjutsu: Low ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
A Rank Genjutsu: High ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing Yourself in minor muscle, Cutting yourself, Breaking Smaller bones, Low level Burning/Voltage, Painful Cold
S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage level Taijutsu, Breaking Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts, Medium Voltage/Burning, Extreme Painful Cold, Bitting your tongue off
"The more the pain, the higher the rank Genjutsu the pain can break. If you understand, we'll move on to the second way of breaking Genjutsu."

"There are actually three ways, so we've covered one now, and that was pain, next we got..a powerful surge of energy/chakra. This would spike the "spiritual" aspect, of the flow, and reset it back to its normal flow. Whereas Pain spiked the physical, the surge of chakra spikes the spiritual. After the reset, the Genjutsu is broken.

Now, you might be wondering, "what is a surge of chakra, and how do I do it?"

There are two ways. There is the Kai technique which I will be teaching you, where you form a hand seal and you forcefully spike your chakra to break the Genjutsu, and then there is a technique (any of the basic 5) which releases a large amount of chakra from many or all of your Tenketsu. These are techniques like Chidori Nagashi, Earth Hardening Technique etc. Any technique where a lot of chakra is released spontaneously from all your Tenketsu. This would break the illusion set on you.

"What rank of chakra surge would break what rank of Genjutsu?". Well, basically, a chakra surge has to be one rank higher than the Genjutsu it is trying to break. An S rank elemental surge would break a Genjutsu of A rank, and a surge of B rank would break C rank Genjutsu etc.

Any questions before we go to the last one?"

Dean asks, knowing that all this information might seem a bit unnecessary, but will be crucial to know when facing another Genjutsu user.
