So Manchester United win the community shield, well first of all congratulations to them and moyes, but against a championship side this is hardly a feat as united were expected to win, and to no one surprise rooney who hasn't played a single pre season game did not take part in the game and also might not take part it Manchester united game against swansea next week. Now moving one i would like to get you guys fellow opinion on who you think its more of a quality defender and would fit easier into the barca style, is it vertonghen, david luiz or daniel agger?

But if Liverpool made a deal with Suarez, of letting him leave if they didn't qualify to champions, plus arsenal offered the release clause value, why are they being stubborn and selfish???

But good good, would be rooney going arsenal... revenge... but if he leaves i guess he'll go chelsea, or abroad maybe

the one who would fit the most is David Luiz, best out of them is Agger, but Agger would fit the least into Barca, i think David is better at defending than Vertongan tbh

if they paid release clause value, than Liverpool cannot say anything about it, if someone pays release clause, than the team has nothing to say to it, it's just like Gotze, Dortmund couldn't do anything about it

Ronaldo has been great this pre-season! Can't wait to see what he'll do this season. Ancelloti doesn't look like a bad manager too!
But Messi pretending that he's humble, got the 4 Ballon D'our -.-' The first/second time he won, Sneijder should of got it, last year Ronaldo should of got it, from the 4 Messi has, he only deserves 2 of them at max

the one who would fit the most is David Luiz, best out of them is Agger, but Agger would fit the least into Barca, i think David is better at defending than Vertongan tbh

they have man, apparently arsenal paid so... and liverpool said it only means they have to notice the player about it, and not release hi... apparently ofc, because you never know if the news are true, but they don't really want him to leave

RM as team looks really good, not only Ronaldo. And obviously, Ancelotti is very good menager, its not something that wasnt known before. Im really excited about the next classico.

if has been discussed here or not, i don't knowe because i only joined this thread not too long ago.

edit: I know who's he know, he's on the previous page... he talks about 5-0 on his status, probably its the Bayern 5-0 Barcelona

FC Metalist Kharkiv (Ukraine) have been banned from all European competitions for the 2013/14 season.
They had been drawn against Schalke 04 in the CHL play-off draws. An announcement is expected from UEFA later on Wednesday to clarify consequences the decision may have on the competition.

The team that lost against FC Metalist in the Third-Qualifying-Round of the CHL (PAOK FC), is decided to replace Metalist in the play-offs

So we have: Schalke 04 vs PAOK FC

So the premier league along with laliga both kick off on Saturday after a long awaited return, the main talking points in terms of club management would be how moyes fairs in his first season and if mourinho can bring back the glory days of his first reign, then there’s city who right now are looking like a very formidable side although with some defensive problems dude to nastatic injury but still good enough to reclaim their trophy which they lost last season, then last but not the least, you can say always the “fourth” is arsenal who right now don’t look like they have any chance in fighting for the title and even their highly valued champions league spot doesn’t seem all that sure anymore given that It took them a single point to qualify for the competition after narrowly edging out tottenham, and with the current tottenham side of soldado and paulinho along with gareth bale[if he stays] this side look very convincing in their race to qualify for the champions league. Now heading off from England to spain where both of the Spanish giants Barcelona and real Madrid who finished the league in 1st and 2nd respectively have had a managerial change so it would be good to see how the new side under the manager especially Madrid after all does dressing room problems and issues players had with mourinho the past manager it would be interesting to see how ancelotti holds his ground, that with the possible addition of gareth bale to a team who has already acquired isco, illaramendi and a ronaldo that’s look as sharp as a razor blade in front of goal, theres no telling what real Madrid could achieve and maybe even their champions league title which they have been wanting to win for over a decade now, then theres barca who just signed neymar one of the most promising and talented upcoming footballers and changed to gerado martino nicknamed “tata” with no European experience what so ever it would be interesting to see how he manages the stress of the job and which players he does bring if he does bring anyone and how they adapt to Barcelona also if he would make any major overhaul in the barca system or just minor tweaks here and there. Anyway lets see what happens.

i am no expert on Chelsea, but can anyone tell me who is main RB?
Ivanovic, followed by Azpilicueta.

Anyways, feel great to have football season running again. Plus, United won - so back to good feels and my weekly thrills xD

I'll make a review on big BPL teams performances after the 1st day matches are all played. That is, after Spurs/Chelsea/City have played, and I'll obviously analyze United/Arsenal/Liverpool too.

So the premier league took off today with liverpool vs stoke being the seasons opener fixture and it was a thrilling encounter which showed the brilliance of the two opposing teams goal keepers, all in all it was a deserved win for liverpool who i taught earned the 3 points, however on this post i will mostly be talking on arsenal and their opening day match. The match was against aston villa and it took place at arsenal home soil, in the emirates. Arsenal opened the scoring charts in less than 10 minutes with a good goal from giroud, however, villa did not lose thier ground and due to the individual brilliance Gabriel Agbonlahor got a penalty awarded from a rash challenge on him by Wojciech Szczęsny and though benteke the spot kick taker failed to capitalize at first he made up for his errors and headed it into the net on the rebound, then yet another reckless challenge from Koscielny brought agbonlahor down in the penalty box and this time benteke didnt fail as he slotted the ball in the back of the next, giving villa the lead, and yet another challenge from koscielny was the straw that broke the camel back, and that camel was none other than referee A. Taylor‎ who drew out his red card and gave koscielny his marching orders off the field. Now arsenal were a goal down and a man down too the least they could do was to try and look for an equalizer to salvage a point at-least, but this never happened as minutes later luna finished off szczesny and gave villa a 3-1 cushion lead, which ended arsenal hopes of getting any meaningful result from the game. This is arsenal 9th seasons since they won a trophy and the supporters and the pubic are growing tired with the team and the manager wenger who has claimed that arsenal are not scared to spend big and have such money to do so, but has not made any top signing, with their latest recent target ex bayern munich man luis gustavo snubbing them and choosing to play for wolfsburg and with liverpool insistence that suarez is not for sale and with the same thing being said about wayne rooney it seems wenger has a limited group of players with top quality to choose from, this arsenal squad looks like they might have a problem merely getting thier "fourth place ucl position" yet alone compete for the epl title but however its only the first date and the tranfer window does not end until September so lets wait and see what the window has to offer.

Also, United started off the season with an away win over Swansea at Liberty Stadium; Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck getting 2 goals each and Wilfred Bony getting a consolation and his debut goal for the Swans:bouncy:

Great way to kick off a season if you ask me. GGMU:happy:

oh,...Ivanovic, i don't like him lol, Azpilicueta is imo better RB as he is more of an offensive type + i don't like Ivanovic ;) and from that little i have seen by Azpilicueta he is pretty good, this is how i see Starting 11 of Chelsea (how i would do it, but most likely Ivanovic is gonna be in instead of Azpi :( and i feel Terry isn't good)

---------------Čech
-----Azpi--Cahill---David Luiz---Cole
-----Ramires----------Lampard
Hazard---------Mata-----------Schurle
--------------Torres
