The biggest problem of our squad is CB. I am saying that since...I don't know, I guess from last two years. Yet, we never made a good attempt in fixing it. We need either Otamendi or probably Stones(if he comes, but I know it won't be easy to get him, considering that we have Chelsea and many other top clubs in the race). Our defence was weak against spurs, but I guess it is more than enough to hold up against Villa(at least on paper).
Bastian has just arrived at Manchester and considering the injury he had in Bayern, I guess Van Gaal wants to go easy on him, in the beginning. He also said today that he is recovered so hoping for him to start pretty soon though he will only make a cameo against Villa.
The biggest mistake we did against spurs was allowing Depay to play as number 10, behind Rooney, which was a really bad idea. He needs to swap with Mata and play down the wings, who in turn can play as number 10(he has a really good record as a number 10, mind you).
So I hope Van Gaal fixes this small things. I am expecting Herrera to start this time, alongside Scheinderlin, which will boost our midfield.

Rooney isn't a sharpshooter, I completely agree, but he isn't someone you should take lightly. He scored 14 goals last season and was United top scorer, even when we had Van Persie and Mata to contribute. Mata lacks pace, but can contribute really well in terms of assists and goals(he was second highest goal scorer last season alongside RVP), as a number 10(provided that he plays as number 10).
Micah Richards need to closely mark Mata if he plays as number 10.
Plus we have in form wing backs(Shaw and Darmian) which provide good runs on the flank. Young had a really good last season and can
be really dangerous on the flank.

Shaw defended really well last time around and so did Darmian, making runs down the wings is the toughest thing to do atm. To mark your forwards we have Smalling at the center of the park, who marked Kane really well against Spurs. If he can mark Kane, I don't really see a reason for him to not able to contain these players.

History says that United never lost a Permier League match against Aston Villa at Villa Park since 1995, so I don't think crowd matters much.
Yet, I am expecting a good match, but I would still like to give it to United by at least 1-0(might very well be 2-0).:p

I doubt you'd be getting in any more players by the time the match comes around, so I'm afraid you're stuck with Smalling and Blind :p but obviously, if you get someone of Otamendi's level in the squad, you definitely improved but ManUtd have had quite the history of chasing centre backs and not getting their man. I really don't see the need of signing someone like Schweinsteiger. Sure he's a good midfielder but he has no resale value and isn't that much of an improvement to what you have. I rate Ander Herrera much more highly and quite surprised he doesn't get more games than he does right now. Having a midfield three of Schneiderlin, Carrick and Herrera seems really good.

Rooney didn't look his best during the game against Spurs and I'm well aware of the damage he can do but I'm slightly optimistic that without the service, he might not be able to impact the game. He's not the kind of player to get the ball in the midfield and produce a mazy run to launch it into the back of the net. If the sources are shut down, then Rooney will have a quiet game. When he's frustrated by not getting any service, he tends to come deep to get into the game more but that also tends to affect his game. I'm really confused about LVG's persistence with Mata on the wing. Surely having Depay, Mata, Januzaj or Young, Mata, Depay as your attacking outlets would be better. Maybe he's just a placeholder until Pedro comes in to fill that slot. Villa are quite notorious for their counter-attacking style with the pace we're blessed with.

Shaw defended really well last time around and so did Darmian, making runs down the wings is the toughest thing to do atm. If Shaw and Darmian are given the space to bomb up the wing, we could damage them on the counter with the space they've left behind but that's just a theory. It only rarely comes off in actual games. Darmian probably had a more favourable match-up in the Spurs game since he was against Chadli who is not an explosive player (not sure what he's good at tbh) but against someone of the likes of Agbonlahor or Sinclair who is rapid, he might have a bit more trouble. Shaw on the other hand might have an easier night. The Villa team are lacking in a right-sided winger as of right now and the only one who can fill that role would be Bacuna who has been pushed back to RB. I don't expect much from that side of the field against United. Also, Harry Kane and Rudy Gestede are two different players, Gestede is 2 inches taller than Kane and poses much more of an aerial threat than Kane (whom is better with his feet than Gestede) I think he'd be a handful in the box and the only one who might have the chance of coping is Smalling but looking back on what Benteke did to Smalling a few seasons back, I wouldn't put all my eggs in the Smalling basket.

There is a lot of sense of belief in this team and the stadium will be sold out for the match. Having that much of support can most certainly turn a game on it's head.

Roma need another 1 or 2 centerback as a back up for Manolas and Castan also a couple of fullbacks, that way everything in defense is good to go now that they have a decent goalkeeper
their offense is now nothing like last season.. with Dzeko and Salah you can expect a speedy attack with Gervinho up front,

Having said that they need their midfield completely fit and free from injury... especially Strootman and Pjanic,

Oh and i heard they just land that Brazilian talent Gerson kid.

I can agree with this. Their full-backs are now seriously lacking with the sale of Holebas (who was getting old as it is) and as of right now, they're full-backs consist of Ashley Cole, Torosidis and Maicon who are all in their thirties but if they decide to omit playing with those players, they don't have enough squad depth to go a whole season with three CB's - Yanga M'biwa, Leandro Castan and Kostas Manolas. Though the most likely scenario is that they switch it up but regardless, it's still an issue.

Their midfield is actually really good and quite packed. Pjanic, De Rossi, Florenzi, Strootman, Nainggolan, Keita and Ucan with the option of bringing a few attacking options further down the pitch to bolster the midfield (namely wingers) the only concern is that they don't necessarily have a number 10 with most of their attacking players being wingers and strikers, they lack someone to sit in the hole between the opposition's defense and midfield. Totti can fill this role but for how much longer?

With the explosive pace of Gervinho, Ibarbo and Iturbe, it could really hurt any team in Europe but it's a shame they loaned Doumbia back to CSKA Moscow until January. The service towards Dzeko will certainly make or break Roma's season. I think with that signing, it really gives the Roma side another dimension that they've been lacking in recent seasons - a proper target man who can make use of the width of play from the side that the likes of Destro, Totti or Doumbia can't provide. If they can keep him fit and firing on all cylinders, they could really push for a good season but the likelihood of them overthrowing Juventus is a little bit too far out of reach just now but they're building to it. Though the loss of Vidal, Pirlo and Tevez might prove to be a kink in the old lady's armour.

Costa you magnificent man!!!!

On another note how good is Gerson I heard Juve, Barca, Atletico were trying to sign him and now he is in Roma.
Also Kenedy Chelsea have signed him he too was a wonderkid at Fluminense.

So we pulled it off against Villa, somehow. Kudos to Januzaj and Morgan.
Smalling looked good as well, we just need Otamendi to pair up with him, Blind was miserable again.
The two players disappointed me most, were Rooney and Depay. Rooney did nothing to prove that he is a good striker. Depay's free kicks were equally bad. I can say for sure now, Depay is overrated.

Yeah. I am supporting United since my childhood days.
My cousin introduced me to this beautiful game, who is hardcore Manchester United fan.
I became United fan, when I watched David Beckham playing. He was my favorite footballer back then. After that, I started gathering info about the club and started watching their earlier matches as well, which made me like the club even more.
One has to give credit to my school friends as well, who were all Chelsea and Liverpool fans. I remember one of my friend had a dream of playing alongside Steven Gerrard. Today he is Engineer and Steven Gerrard is no longer Liverpool player.xD

I'd give Bartra and Vermaelen for free to any team who has the balls to play them.
Add ter Stegen(AKA Neuer successor) to that list.

While I do agree Roma and the rest of the Serie A improved greatly, no team in the world boasts the defensive depth we have (Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Rugani and Caceres). Our attacking depth is actually amazing right now too. Dybala will be insane in a short amount of time, Mandzukic is a proven goal scorer, still have Morata AND Coman and more depth in Zaza. Full health midfield depth is still one of the best in the world -> Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira, Sturaro, Asamoah and Pereyra. All we need is a good signing like Gotze/Draxler and a left back (Heard we'll be signing Alex Sandro from Porto) and we're back to being a CL contender without that much trouble. Add in that we're getting Domenico Berardi back next season, a full season of development for Coman, Dybala and Rugani. We're set for years.

Agreed, Bravo has had such a wonderful performance in Copa America and in La Liga overall, the 8 goals we conceded during these 2 games came from like 10 shots on the goal overall, he makes no effort to even jump but on top of it makes stupid mistakes such as in the first goal but our coach is stuck with Ter Stegen, just play Bravo these matches.
