Gaara's sand ability is of the magnet release.

If translated correctly then Naruto has gained the magnet release through Shukaku's chakra. Shukaku must use the magnet release to control regular sand.

We already know Jinjuriki's gain the power of their Bijuu's as seen from Roshi who gained the lava release from Son goku. If we know that then Gaara must have a magnet release not just for gold sand like his father but regular sand as well which he should have gained from Shukaku.

Magnet release:

In my opinion the magnet release combines the natures of Wind and Earth. All the metals used with the magnet release are minerals of earth like iron, metals used to make kunai, gold sand. The wind creates the ability to move these things freely. So regular sand is also a mineral of the earth so that should allow it to be manipulated using the magnet release.

Magnet release, magnets attract and repel which is what Gaara does with his sand.

I think it's been in the cards for Gaara along time now. I called it the moment we saw his father use it. My theory is that Gaara's Jiton is always on due to this mother's dying will to protect him. I also think Shukaku having it is just coincidental and that Gaara inherited his Jiton from his father.

There's so a strong possibility Jiton requires at least wind release seeing as it's common in Wind Country.

I actually made a thread aaaages ago about this after gaaras dad displayed the same eye rings as gaara. There is two types of magnetism:

1) paramagnetism: is a form of magnetism whereby something is attracted to a source via a magnetic field. This is most similar to toroi's magnetic shuriken.

2) diamagnetism: type of magnetism which repels objects with a magnetic force. Quartz the main component of sand is diamagnetic and hence why gaara can manipulate it and make it fly through the air. He is essentially manipulating the magnetic forces that repel the sand off the ground.

Given this info it's most likely a combination of lightning and earth release in that the minerals in the ground or sand are magnetised to form the repulsion field.

When Shukaku used his sealing techs, he used regular sand and Naruto is trying use a seal so he is using regular sand.
