Orochimaru has the advantage in this fight as Gaara is only limited to Sand techniques only Physcal Attack & Physical Defense. Orochimaru on the other hand knows a lot of information & techniques too plus he is a lot smarter than Gaara. Orochimaru would most likely realized Gaaras' sand weakness is water & he can easily find a way to nulify it remember he deafeted Gaaras' father seemingly easily from a flash back.
Gaara also has sealing techniques and wind techniques o-o
Why do you say that Gaara isn't smart (above posts). If Gaara wasn't smart, he probably would have died a few manga chapters ago against the Mizukage and Tsuchikage :|

I didn't say Gaara is not smart but rather Orochimaru is a lot smarter than him & knows a lot of information.

This would really be a close match because both are strong , the match will be epic if Oro is healthy , anyway i cant decide who will win , Oro is smarter than Gaara though im not saying that Gaara isnt smart but Oro is such a badass but Gaara 's new techs are strong so i doubt that Oro will handle them , and so my decision will be Gaara with difficulty

OH YH one tail...sorry for tht...n yh..edo tensei is really a leveled jutsu and gaara might face difficulty handling it...and i agree with almost all the statement tht it will be a great fight...but the question is...orochi is way to strong thn gaara...so dontu think oro has it in his hand..tht gaara will exhaust the most..??..or oes orochimaru even needs to use edo tensei??...i'd lyk the answer to ttht...

Its not fair, Gaara doesn't have enough control with the sand with his bijuu, he actually got stronger now.
Gaara today wud beat Oro because he is too long distance and he can just bury him with his overwhelming attacks oh and Oro won't be able to hit him there isn't one attack he cud use.
Gaara with his bijuu wud probably lose because his sand seems slower and he is not as strong as he gets after fighting his dad and gold release etc. Oro cud win this because that Gaara's sand probably wasn't that fast (probably wasn't fast enough to block ama)
Now Gaara with juubi wud straight up rape Orochimaru.

Listen Gaara today wud beat Oro, depending on what edos he wud summon. With edo Orochi wud still lose because Gaara cud just target him, now if Oro was hiding then it wud be different, once again it all depends on who the edos are.
without edo Oro wud win against the Gaara before the war.
Now Oro only has some chances with edo tensei, without it tell me how hes gonna hit Gaara.
