Why did it crack if it wasn't broken by Lee? Also, can't remember if he was praying or was in pain, but he closed his eyes and that's why he lost. The final blow didn't consist of the gates, but the Lotus.
And I already told you that Guy with his speed is faster than the sand. Any move of the sand can be dodged by Guy's speed.
being cracked is not the same as being broken,it was still on his body and was active,the crack just shows that it was damaged to a degree,and that was due to 5 gated attacks by lee for a continous period. Lee hadnt used gates when gaara did that bushin feint,he only closed his eyes for a second because of the pain. After that he went gates and then used the reverse lotus,he DID give gaara the final blow,but gaara's sand armour held,and he turned his gourd to sand,further softening the blow,while lee became weakened from using the gates,back then gaara hadnt even started using extra sand or even a sand sphere. Now he has both.
Yes,gated guy probably can dodge his sand attacks,but it wont matter,guy wont stay long in gates,so he is still at a huge disadvantage against gaara,and if gaara turns the battlefield to a desert,then speed becomes useless as the very ground he is on is controlled by gaara. Just a little amount of sand saved gaara from 5 v3 susanoos. Guy wont be able to breach his sand defence before his time runs out,and gaara could fool him with a clone too.
