I think both are important and while we can't be perfect in attaining either of them, we should continue to strive towards them.
How is it subjective? If everyone has equal opportunity and starts out on equal footing, that's equality right there. Not to say there aren't problems with that view, but there are problems with 100% freedom as well.Because equality is an absolute freedom is subjective
So is freedom though. At least, I'd not like to live in a land where murder and rape is allowed.
Ooh, I thought of a better analogy:
I'm sure a caged bird would rather be outside with all those dangerous animals than locked safe in a cage.
How does that sound?
Hmm, this is a harder question than I thought. True freedom means not being oppressed. If nobody is being oppressed doesn't that mean that's equality?
I guess in worst case scenarios, equality can mean being treated like cattle while the worst thing with freedom is not having enough power which would just mean you're oppressed anyways. They're essentially the same thing.
But with complete freedom you have the ability to oppress a group of people and force their failure.Difference being the cattle will be caged forever, where as those who choose freedom have noone but themselves to blame for their own failure

This is why you're the cunning linguist and I'm not, lol.Better to die free as a starved wolf than live in a cage
Yeah but we're humans so we'll just go like f*ck Darwinism and team up for our own benefits.Darwinism is a fact of life. In the reaching for equality the power ends up corrupting those imposing it anyway
I would Choose equality depending on how and what people consider it to be. There is alot of things wrong with some people's concept of it.

The equality part of the image is my reference
"โA society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.โ
OP, I take it that you know of this saying and believe it?

@Slim, why limit freedom to one specific political groups vision of freedom, but not limit equality to another groups vision of equality? Why not adopt the black panthers vision of equality :lol?
