For all of Sasuke's supposed genius, why was he so old and still in the Academy?

Itachi minato and kakashi are three of the most prodigious characters in manga. Sasuke pales in comparison and the clear evidence is that minato planned battle against madara when kakashi was around and kakashi planned battle against kaguya when sasuke was around. And about seniority being a factor, sasuke wasn't even giving a damn about kakashi and they couldn't come up with a plan till kakashi gave them one. Plus kakashi wasn't showing much insight when he was with minato and was asking him what to do. Now obviously minato was the sensei so that played a part but kakashi could have easily inputted something beneficial but it was all minato there.

Minato's best feat is beaten by Sakura. That is where Minato lies. Kakashi's best feat is the last one and that's it.

It was Tobirama who was dictating the flow. Naruto came up with the strategy to teleport all of them away. Don't hand over others feats to Minato.

if my memory of that occasion serves me correct, Kakashi had MS and Sasuke still only had a 3T Sharingan. That would mean Kakashi did in fact have a better Sharingan.

minato dictating what? it was tobirama was the one who was mostly doing the directing, not minato(analyzing obitos omyoudon/senjutsu combo with naruto). all minato did was constantly hype himself to create an opening with his jutsu which failed. his best feat is the madaras tsb analysis and leading the team there but that is matched by sasukes debunking limbo and coming up with a plan to defeat it.

Lightning Blade, Lightning Clone, Lightning Beast, Lightning transmission, and continuous channel of lightning through a blade even after it's discarded from the user--all of those are feats from Kakashi.

No. He is able to increase and decrease the potency through the use of fewer fingers and has shown the ability to use it without the Sharingan as well. He has more varients than him too.

I was talking about intelligence . Sasuke isnt smart Sakura was smartest member of team 7 and in Kishi databook Sasuke only has 3.5 and having more power doesnt make you smarter no matter what.

It was also said that Kakashi and Itachi are both smarter than Sasuke.

Minato knew he was obito the moment obito came back from kamui dimension. Are you referring to the 1st fight between minato and obito? If so minato's deduction skills were awesome in that fight heck obito showed intangibility to MS sasuke and sasuke could do nothing about it and decided to be side kick of obito. At least obito was more wary of itachi compared to sasuke. And against madara he lead them all to a successful attack even though gai was the aggressor, minato was the planner. Just like how kakashi was the one against kaguya even though narusasu were the aggressors.
