As for how you construct the techniques; it's a matter of gathering your chakra to into the point of release, no matter where it may be and then releasing that fixed amount of chakra in the forms of bolts or whatever the shape may be.

I'm sure you're familiar with the concept of Shape manipulation; forming your chakra into a desired shape or form? Most projectile based elemental techniques hold some form of shape manipulation be it a ball, a bolt of lightning, or in the shape of some animal, etc, etc.

Now then, are you familiar with the division of power in a technique? What I mean by this is: dividing the power of a technique into equal parts, similar to how one divides their chakra equally with shadow clones." Gabriel asked.

Well yes i am familliar with shape manipulation when i learnt Fuuton and Katon. I've also learnt Rasengan which is a very important moment to demonstrate one's knowledge of shape manipulation.


I can peform cloning techniques but i find it difficult to calculate a divded offenses power. Say you use an S-ranked raiton jutsu which is contains five projectiles. Is the S-rank then divded into five because of the fact there are five projectiles?

"If the technique allows for you to create multiple projectiles the sum of the parts is equivalent to the rank of the technique making each individual projectile weaker.

Think of it as you would think of a normal Shadow clone. In the Shadow Clone technique, you create a solid clone and divide your chakra evenly amongst the parts in 1:1 ratios. If you create one clone you have 50:50 chakra divided amongst the clone and yourself, the original body. If you create 2 clones you have 33.3:33.3:33.3 or 1/3 between the three parts of the two clones and yourself. And so on and so forth going to 1/4 for 3 clones and 1/5 for four clones.

The same concept applies to projectiles. If you have one solitary projectile it holds all the power for that rank. If you divide it into two, the two parts sum the whole and five parts sum up the whole as well. Therefore in the case of an S-ranked projectile, two parts becomes 2 A-ranked projectiles and five parts becomes 5 B-ranked projectiles (roughly either B or C-ranks). Understand?"

I have a raiton+suiton related question i want to bring up though. Is the raiton power amplified when it strikes water or does it just travel through it when used in

"Water is a conductor like earth. It amplifies electricity in the sense that the concentration of the entire lightning technique is drawn to the conductor. It doesn't make the lightning than it ordinarily would be. If I create a suiton technique that creates a large wave and then release a concentrated lightning technique that holds a high degree of electricity...say a sphere, that energy from the sphere will disperse onto the water and and flow as the water flows. Does that answer your question?"

The latter is to prefer i suppose.

1. The user projects a wave of electricity out of his/hers palms. Right there you get the indication it's a lightning stream of waves.
2. As a small shock, meaning it's not self-sustained but still at the users palm. Stream yeah..

Yay, this will make up my previous mistake. I hope >_>.

Much like a regular chakra stream, water stream, fire stream. The lightning stream is projected from the user, but never takes a self-sustaining form. The user would gather up their chakra and project it(with nature transformation, depending what element to project) towards their opponent. Or in this case, a rock formation that would make walls of stone fall down from the side on the opponent. Etc. The user must continuously gather chakra in order for the stream not to end, thus making these kind of jutsus slightly more chakra effective.
A big risk with streams is that for this instance, lightning, the user could electrode themselves should they use the electric stream in contact with water. (I would atleast think so..) But the user also have way more control over a stream of lightning than a projectile of lightning, afterall. The user projects the lightning where he/she wants and could easily turn the stream around, should the opponent move or go underground for instance. Unlike a projectile that just flies in one direction.

These techniques are best used after you've released other cover or a primary attack and you use this as a follow up. That's the major disadvantage to all stream based techniques, keep that in mind...

Now to move onto the melee techniques. These are all essentially the Chidori and Raikiri techniques and their variants. The advantages and disadvantages are all dependent to the technique however most of the advantages to such techniques would be the close combat centralization of these techniques. Like Chidori/Raikiri, senbon, stream. They're made for close combat/taijutsu oriented combat. Use these for more taijutsu-esque combat. This would also serve to be their disadvantage since they aren't very ranged or suited for wider style of combat.

Ah right, i recognized that disadvantage from my water training hm.

"Now, since I already told you what kinds of techniques are in the third method, and the 'other' method merely consists of unique techniques we can move onto the actual technique training. Since you've already given me an example of a stream technique (you explained to me why it was in the second method as opposed to the first). We won't need to cover that much....now then, how far did you get in this element again?"

I should be well on my way in the B-ranks.

"Hmmm, you've pretty much been through the entire first set of jutsu then. Most projectiles in this element are of a lower grade. There is still one technique however, so we'll just start with that one. I want to start off by gathering a large amount of raiton chakra into both your hands. Don't worry about controlling the shape or confining the chakra, just let it spill out in a general discharge of chakra." Gabriel holds out his right hand and demonstrates how he wants you to follow in his technique. A crackling wave of lightning forms around his hand "Start off like this with one hand and then do the same with the other hand. Maintain them for about 60 seconds collectively alright?"

Yeah, quite so.

*As instructed and shown, Alucard raised both his hands with his palms straight up towards the sky as he began to focus his chakra for the upcoming task. As the chakra started to mould within the core of Alucards body, he started channeling it through his right arm. By the energy of the raw chakra and lightning nature transformation, Alucard had now formed a "fountain" of sparks and lightning in his right hand. The lightning itself wasn't very controllable, but Alucard continued by channeling the raw chakra to his left hand aswell as transforming it into pure lightning. This was to be uphold for 60 seconds as instructed by his sensei. Alucard didn't waste much chakra when he channeled it since he cut back the moulded chakra to save it, thus making the technique weaker but easier to maintain. As 60 quick seconds passed, Alucard dispelled the lighting and exhaled.*

"Alright now that you've fueled your chakra we're going to apply some advanced shape manipulation to it." Gabriel did the same thing as before but almost immediately after releasing the lightning chakra the frantic discharged stopped and formed a flat rounded disk of lightning. The edges from each side were completely smooth and there was absolute minimal discharge every now and again. He did this in both hands. "With this you're going to imagine the shape of a disk, focus your chakra and tightly wind it and compress it into this thin disk. Rounding it so thinly there will barely be any discharge what this creates..." Gabriel launched both disks rapidly towards a tree mid-ranged and they cut through it cleanly without any problem before dispersing. The tree fell with the cleanest cuts in the areas where they were hit. "I think you get the point. For this technique, however, you're going to need to use the: Monkey, Ox, Boar, and Tiger seals. Since you're not adept enough in the skill you can't reduce the number of seals or increase your speed in performing them yet. So before you try to mold your chakra like I did, use those seals, it'll make the process easier."

Alright sensei, Alucard said.

By spilling no unnecessary time, Alucard began by performing four hand seals, as instructed:

Monkey→Ox→Boar→Tiger

He then started to mould a rather large amount of chakra from the core of his body that he'd then channel through his chest, shoulders, arms and ultimately palms. From there he recreated the raw chakra into raiton chakra, making his palms glow white-blue-ish. He then started imagine two perfectly rounded discs with minim discharge. By using advanced shape manipulation, Alucard began by forming some sparks in both of his palms with minimal discharge. He then compressed the chakra, creating two thin discs of pure lightning chakra that floated over his two opened palms. As he concentrated even further to minimize the amount of discharge it seemed that the discs also began to smooth out in the corners as a side-result. Alucard then made sure that the other small electrical sparks form his palms disappeared as he launched both discs towards a nearby tree. The tree was cut in half and the cuts themselves where very clean and smooth.
