Haha where are the Ronaldo fanboys/girls ? I dont know how you all goes to pick Portugal to win this match and not Uruguay. Didn't you people watched all the matches of Portugal and all the matches of Uruguay and see who's better? Its clearly Uruguay is better while Portugal struggled alot. Ronaldo, who?????

People only picked Portugal because of Ronaldo and not because of the whole team because if team is the question, Uruguay takes this.

Could scored three goals but Rodriguez has his soul taken out for a seconds, he missed a clear chance to kill Portugal for good.

I agree, Uruguay have a much better side and played a solid group stage compared to Portugal. Wouldn't be surprised if they go all the way and clinch the title.

...Uruguay is by far the weirdest team on the WC. They really look and act like a bunch of hoodlums, they play in a highly unorthodox manner you can't say is appealing to watch, but somehow they perfected that to the uttermost limits. To see them play is both depressing as hilarious.
Thats how you win titles, get a goal and wait for counter, keeping moronic possesion and pushing forward like argentina did vs france even when they are ahead is a sure way to crash out,

Belgium can learn a thing or two from uruguay.

We want to watch "team" and not "person". France is a team, Croatia is a team, Uruguay is a team, Brazil is a team, Belgium is a team, England is a team and Spain is a team.

Not really, that has been proven many times. Counter-football isn't unique and I wasn't even talking about that as that's by no means something Uruguay invented nor has a monopoly on nor was it the only team that tried that this WC.

I was talking about their overall demeanor, attitude and way of playing, which is not something you can just replicate nor even something you want to replicate. It's even completely contradictory what you say as you can't have two teams aiming for the counter. The inherent flaw of that has already been exposed this tournament in regards to Uruguay. Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia and Egypt were horrible, Uruguay barely managed to scrape two 1-0 victories and many other teams screwed themselves over by thinking scoring once is enough and then get hammered.

To win a tournament this way you need a ridiculous amount of luck, even more so than normal. Argentina isn't a good example for anything as their teams was falling apart on all sides by multitude of factors.

And there is nothing Belgium has to learn from Uruguay. The only thing Belgium can be envious about, are some of their defenders, but that has more to do with individual skill and the fact that several of them even play together outside the national team for Atletico, which is a team know for its defensive play, and not for the way Uruguay plays as whole.

It's really weird how you're perceiving this as you're essentially saying teams have to become worse than they are.

Caliburn is right. Actually in my eyes Uruguay played with no system of certain style. It just take-and-try and hope it goes the right way. They still have weaknesses to solve. If Uruguay plays without Cavani and Suarez or either of the two, I'm afraid they couldn't do much. And if this situation happened against France, Uruguay just can hope and pray for miracle comes meet them. Their defense is good but in offensive they lack an idea. Only individual brilliance from Suarez and Cavani could help them. They still stronger than Portugal as a team. Their playing style is good enough for against team like Portugal but not against team like France. Maybe Portugal is their limit but who knows. For sure, they need to step up their game play and plan when they meet with France.

Of course it doesn't always work, but so far most team that win big tourney like WC and Euro since 2008 has been using that strategy at some point during their campaign, even the Germans in 2014,

Thing is with Uruguay they have all the tools to pull that off, they have good defense and their attack is more than capable to get a goal or 2, their demeanor or attitude wont matter as it is irrelevant as long as they get the result fair and square,
and no... both team cant go for counter ofc... that's is strictly limited to when you are a goal up, once the opponent equalize then they will have to get up front and get a goal as soon as possible,

What am trying to say is a team that can win WC/Euro, is that one team that know how to approach the game depending on the situation, am not necessarily pointing out at Uruguay alone in my earlier post, its just that having a good defense win you titles,

Argentina is a good example, as we can see how they didn't change they way they approach the game after going ahead, they keep on pushing forward despite knowing the fact that France is capable to organize a lighting fast counter and hit them where it hurts,

And yes Belgium can learn from Uruguay.. after all Belgium dont know when to stop, in 2014 and 2016, especially in 2016 Belgium show us they know how to score but suck at keeping their lead, Bulgaria could have knock them out if it wasn't for Courtois and Wales show them the way,

Its not necessarily become worse its about knowing when to stop, only that in Tournament like this, especially on KO stage.... Attacking needlessly can cost you the game.

Both of them will still meet at World Cup but at the airport lololololol, so happy Argentina lost, their people and Maradona are very disrespectful and they deserve this lost.

Neymar is next, Ive said before and I will say it again, a new champion will Reign supreme.
