Zeref is in his kingdom so obviously acnologia lost to him.
They wont have reached to some agreement of settlement or for some alliance. Now c'mon acnologia is dead, he would had obviously lost to zeref. As zeref is a final villian.:scorps:

Its extremely unlikely that Acnologia is dead because he has a big role in the series and a major point is that Natsu wants to kill him, not much point to making him a important character and having him kill Igneel if he is going to be killed off screen.
Obviously what? You highly subjectively assume that they did not reach an agreement and likewise highly subjectively assume that that lead to a fight where one of them died. You also then subjectively assume that Zeref is the final villain and whether he is or not, is not even relevant at this point as the series isn't going to end soon, meaning there is enough time to throw Acnologia in the mix. The fact that Zeref returned can as easily be interpreted as that he did reach an agreement.Zeref is in his kingdom so obviously acnologia lost to him.

Just using common sense it's extremely unlikely (in fact pretty much impossible) that Acnologia is gone.

Everything makes sense and then everything doesn't.
On one hand it makes sense as to why they Lumen Histoire and how they know about it as well. Mavis must be the one that can beat Zeref in a sense. Also Zeref being King balances out the power levels meaning what everyone said about Zeref nerfing Alvare was true.
On the other hand it doesn't make sense that he was able to build an empire like this unless he originated in Alvarez and came to Ishgar in the future.

Like Mashima already foreshadowed her magic was shrunk. That is some god tier foreshadowing mashima...sen..sei!!.
Just read this chapter. Zeref being the emperor of the Albareth explains how they knew about LH and why they tried to invaded 10 years back. And this also raises few questions about how and when Zeref did all of this. Gotta wait I think.
Continuing from where it left off from the last week's chapter, this chapter ended with a huge blast!. Usual FT rescuing and providing shelter to all the inhabitants/visitors of the Caracol island after Brandish disappeared from the island. I this chapter Juvia Lockser's covr art was featured with her being training. Okay like it was already foreshadowed by Mashima sensei in the last week's chapter, it is confirmed that Brandish magic was related to 'mass manipulation', a highest degree of Transformation magic by Erza along those lines. Looks like that kid was safe with his father and searching for the 'girls with cats' to thank them for saving his son. Good to see mashima showing the whole deal about that 'kid and his father' rather leaving it off completely.
Mest transported all of the crew to the 'real' spy. The place where 'spy' is hiding is really well played out. Sorano as the spy came out of the surprise. And here I am thinking how Brandish can be the spy?!. This is really well written so far. Sorano's attitude hasn't changed much this past year. She is the very same Sorano we knew. She evened the remote place where she is currently living as 'Olympia'. I wonder did she found out who her sister was?. This is some interesting development.
Mest's reply to why Sorano is the spy but 'Erik' wasn't? seems fitting. Yes Erik hears everything lol. Natsu and Wendy seems all down-spirited in under water. Natsu reply to wendy's question about where we are headed now is hilarious and justifiable for their current condition. So Vistarion is the capital city of Albareth empire. Makarov's appearance is fine and is with a beard. Xd. "His majesty has a tendency to wander" is a hint given in this chapter about who the possible emperor be and it is revealed at the end of last page of this chapter. Typical hinting from Mashima sensei.
Also when Makarov and that Old man playing the cards game.....I observed there are some roman numbers like II, IV, III..,, etc., on the each pictured single cards. Do they any relevance or are they just some random illustrations?. And also the illustration of 'King' card when Yajeel is saying "A king must show his power at times" is just damn brilliant Mashima. The card game Makarov and Yajeel are playing is "Legenka", an Albareth card game.

This chapter ended with the emperor,Zeref,the spriggan returning to his Capital after one year break. Zeref being the emperor makes sense regarding LH part but a question arises of how Albareth Empire tried to invade Ishgar for LH when Zeref might be possibly wandering around the world 10 years ago?. I guess Mashima will point out this in next week's chapter. There is a lot I want to post about the revelation of Zeref as the emperor but Mashima planned this chapter in a such a way that the last chapter of FT Zera have to release prior to the FT Manga release. I heard there is an overview of timeline in the last chapter of that spin off. I will speak more about Zeref in next chapter if there is any..huehue.
Making Zeref wander around the world and his 400 years timeskip and FT 7 year timeskip created a lot of new possibilities for his manga.
Next chapter was titled..."grotesque fairy..." wonder what was that?.
