English or Japanese voices?

When I first heard the One Piece English Dub, I dropped the anime as a whole and stuck to the manga U_U. That shit was literally so annoying.

I feel you , but there's some good dubs like the Death Note team & Black Lagoon (who are the same people who did Death Note) I watched & prefer those in English than Japs . .....it has to be done right .

Japanese.


The English ones don't have any Dynamic to their acting. Every voice sounds literally the same. FLAT. it seriously sounds like someone is bored reading the script and has zero acting experience. Anyone who "Hates" reading subs is just a poor reader in general. I literally don't even see the text anymore and sometimes I forget they are speaking Japanese.

American male voice actors always try to sound "tough" by adding a Grr sound to the bottom of every dudes voice. Seriously is everyone in the anime a Lone wolf tough boy with a pretty face? So why do they all try to sound the same?
Watch the Bee vs Sasuke fight, they literally almost all sound exactly the same. Gurren Lagaan and FMA are dubbed WAY better than naruto.

And Dear god Naruto has the WORST voice I ever heard in a anime. He seriously sounds like a boy breaking puberty who is screaming EVERY min of the day. Even when he is just talking at room level he STILL sounds like he is screaming. It's just god awful. I'm honestly embarrassed to say I'm a fan of that show whenever it's the english dubs on tv.

And one of the worst Parts is how so many things just don't fit. Does every english voice actor have to over pronounce every single Japanese word they read in the script? Sasunoo shouldn't be pronounced like it has 5 commas in it. Every word just sticks out. English english english english JA , PA , NESE , WORD english english.

Look at Kingdom hearts 1. Ansem's voice actor Billy Zane was it? AMAZING. then watch the intro to KH2 when they had a flash back and they replaced his actor. HORRIBLE. Who makes these choices? But then again the American population gladly supports bad acting every chance they get whenever a famous celeb who can't act is forced into every single role and makes the box office.

English has the potential to be just as good or better than Japanese. But instead they choose voice actors who just dont make the characters sound and talk like a real person. The voice actors typically cant convey the emotion their character is feeling either.

So english is worse by 2 qualities
1. Bad at conveying the emotion of the moment. Voices sound like they are forced and constipated instead of just like someone talking/yelling/whatever.

2. Voices dont match very well.

This is a generalization. Some voice actors are great some are not.

Oh don't get me wrong, I like English dub for some animes like Yu Yu Hakusho or Dragonball. It's just that when it comes to Naruto, they don't as well assigning voice actors to portray the character's emotions and actions well with their voice, that's all.

Dub all the way. I ain't gonna claim Japanese > English, if i can't even understand that shit. rofl. Especially since sometimes they be soundin like they having *** in middle of the match. English sounds more masculine and fits them more. But i think they really need to add more variety of voices to the characters.

Both are good in their own right. It all just comes down to personal preference. I started with dub so I'm a bit more biased towards that, plus English dub is more convenient for me because I don't like looking at subtitles all the time.

Japanese...I used to like both but now I realize the english dub voices sucked most of the time.

Honestly I really dont mind any. If an anime is dubbed, then I'll watch it over the subbed. However if the voices are annoying I will then switch to the subbed. And the same goes for the subbed. If I'm too lazy to read subs I'll go to the dubbed. It really isn't a big deal.
