. It isn't too far fetched to assume Gaara's normal sand can be pushed by Kimimaro's bones. The finger bullets happened earlier on in the fight, and I'd think Gaara didn't start gathering too many minerals at that point yet.

Kimi also hardened his bones to the max too, it wasn't just Gaara who maxed out his powers.
Gaara's regular sand > Kimi's weaker bones.
Kimi's normal bones CM2 > Gaara's regular sand.
Gaara's hardened sand > Kimi's CM2 hardest bone.

Nobody said otherwise. I was just expressing the fact that I disagree with your previous post which states that the extrusions on Gaara's sand were there to "look cool." I am of the opinion that those extrusions indicate that Kimimaro's bullets pushed Gaara's sand to its defensive limit, nearly piercing it but falling short. Yes, Gaara's sand was able to withstand them, but only by a small margin.

Since i saw it in the anime it always seemed to be that he was pushing the bones out of the sand.
Like to show how in control he was of the situation.
