Perform the technique: I gather chakra in my body and change the nature of the chakra to Earth, by focusing on the main aspects of Earth Release itself. Sturdiness, solidity, etc. I then channel this chakra into the ground beneath my feet. I lift my hand in front of me and snap my fingers, the moment I do, I use shape manipulation to create several stalagmite-like structures that would impale my target from all sides, killing them almost instantly.

Creative uses/strengths: The technique can be used on Earthen structure that exists, either naturally or by the user, that gives this technique a lot of creative opportunity. I'm unsure whether it would work on an opponents Earth technique, since their chakra will be present in the technique, but I can see many ways this Jutsu can be used tactically or creatively. For some reason I keep seeing myself throwing a Earth Release: Spears of Stone, then using this to create several smaller "spears" inside the enemy, increasing the fatality of the techniques and preventing the opponent from pulling it out. Then again, I think I've just been watching the Obito vs Mist Nin fight too much, since Obito does that with one technique.

Drawbacks/counters: The technique can reach up to Mid Range and while that's a decent distance for a technique that creates several impaling spears, it would just be so much better if it was Long Ranged. :/ Counters, since the opponent doesn't have to use any seals, it's a fast technique, especially for an earth Release technique, so discerning how the opponent is using it will be difficult. But to counter, all you have to do is create a wall of Lightning defending you from the direction the opponent is creating the spears from. I'll always have an Uchiha bio, so as a Doujutsu user, I can see that my opponent is channeling Doton chakra into the ground, so I can prepare a Raiton technique in advance.




Perform the technique: I gather chakra together in my body and change it's nature to Earth via the aforementioned method. From there I release this chakra into the ground beneath our feet. From there I use shape manipulation to make the ground shake, violently, but not in a dangerous way, like the tremors before a calamity.

Creative uses/strengths: The technique has basic rules, it can either be used to throw the target off balance, cause them to miss their technique or simply fall to the ground, but I'll assume not all 3 can be done. Beyond the fact it's quick cause it doesn't require seals or even movement, it gives the user a chance to open the opponent up, but like you said, it has no other practical uses.

Drawbacks/counters: I can't really think of any glaring faults. You're the one performing the technique, so you will expect the tremors and be prepared for them, but the target/ opponent won't, hence why it's used to make them miss or stumble. Countering it is simple, either escape into the air, or maybe release Lightning Chakra into the ground to negate the Earth Chakra. If the opponent is using this at the start of a fight, if you use something that's stronger than this and can reach your target, you will have both defended and attacked at the same time, giving the opponent little time to counter. Just an idea though, I have many more. :)

Also, it has more uses than simply practical uses. Imagine seeing someone roar aloud while the very ground beneath them shakes enough to throw them off balance. Sort of an intimidating image eh? It's an illusion using Ninjutsu to intimidate. xD

Description: The user spits a thick globule of mud at the target. If aimed correctly, it can blind the target's vision and choke them. It can also be used to create a sticky patch on the ground.

The opponent will gather doton chakra into their lungs and spit out a thick mud ball towards the opponent anywhere the user wants to aim, it has power to force an opponent back, when hit on the face their vision is hurt due to mud all over the place and they can choke. You can also aim on the ground to have a opponent trip over. Its also a projectile technique so you can quickly send another tech without hesitation.

Descripton: This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock. This can be especially useful if in a cave or a stone lodging. The technique can loosen the rocks and cause them to come raining down on whomever is trapped inside.

Okay this is best used in a cave then anywhere else. The opponent will control the nearby stone and rock and loosen them up making the whole cave very fragile. The cave will then begin to cave in on itself which can trap multiple opponents and kill them. You can use this to kill multiple opponents.

I don't know if this was more to do with Gozu's size and speed, but does this technique retain the same force that it did in the anime? Like, can this be used to change one's direction mid-air? I know there's a Wind Release technique that does just that, but it's best to know these things. :)

Perform the technique: I gather chakra in my lungs (That's kind of weird, shouldn't one not be able to breath if they create a mass of earth in their lungs? Oh well. It's Naruto I guess... xD) and change the nature of the chakra to Earth by focusing on the main aspects of Earth Release. Using that chakra I create a solid blob of soft earth that I then shoot from my mouth. If this hits someone in the face it will either blind them or suffocate them or both. The sticky nature of the technique somewhat mimics the Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field technique, as that is somewhat fluid while having a sticky form/ texture.

Creative uses/strengths: The technique is used to blind/ suffocate. It's pretty basic, but I think it has other uses. Say an opponent throws a shuriken and you counter with this. The opponent i faced with an incoming blob of Earth that will stick to them, and it has a tool that will simultaneously lobotomize them. xD I guess you could also use this to "bind" weapons to their hand, like a sword or an explosive tag, since the technique is somewhat sticky. The technique itself was shown to be pretty quick as Gozu used it in rapid succession to change his course mid air. The technique also doesn't require seals, so it can be used in conjunction with other techniques in rapid succession too. It also has a decent range, especially for a debilitating glob of stick dirt. Also, it's shot from the mouth, that's (so far) rare to see in a Earth Release technique, so it's a little bit weird.

Drawbacks/counters: Despite what was shown in the anime, I'm guessing only one may be used at a time. It can easily be countered with a C-Rank offensive Jutsu. Besides that I can't see any glaring flaws in this technique, it's balanced and can be countered if given the chance.




Perform the technique: I gather chakra in my hands as I weave the seals Tiger → Rat → Snake. Those seals help me prepare my chakra and change it' nature by concentrating on the properties of Doton Chakra. I then slam my hands into the ground, this causes an imbalance in the rocks above our heads. (I know were in a training field, but for the sake of the Jutsu, lets pretend we're in a cave. It's not that far to imagine since, at the start of this training, I slept in a damn golem. ;_;) This imbalance causes these rocks to fall uncontrollably, affecting a wide radius to collapse. If my opponent were under this radius, the falling boulders would crush them. Obito Uchiha's entire right side was crushed by a boulder from this technique, and it had to be completely replaced with Senju DNA for him to survive. This means that if the target gets hit by this technique they would likely die soon after. The only reason Obito lived as long as he did was because the rock only crushed half of his body.

Creative uses/strengths: As far as creative ideas go, I'm all out. The technique is limited to a particular area for it to be used properly, so creativeness is instantly thrown out the window. I guess there could be a few ideas one could throw together in the heat of a battle, but I can't for the life of me think of one. Other than that the technique has a decent range and doesn't take much to perform, 3 seals is only a second or two, and large boulders, once disturbed by the shockwave this creates, don't take long to fall to the ground.

Drawbacks/counters: The technique is very restricted, requiring you to either be in a cave or have a rock formation with segmented rock above your head. Even if you were in that field chances are your opponent will have the same idea. The technique isn't very accurate, the boulders aren't controlled by the user and fall erratically, but due to the area that they cover, they will hit the target so long as they are within it's range. It's a balanced technique that covers a wide area and doesn't take long to perform, so it can be useful in the correct environment.

The second technique has been updated to be far more useful. Buildings, mountains, and even C-rank and below Doton techniques can be collapsed by this (even if you're not under a mountain, being near a collapsing mountain can be dangerous. @_@). Personally, I'd use the Great Stone Golem, let him turn into a statue without chakra as he shields me from above, and then collapse that.

Descripton: The user will do one hand seal and cause nearby earth structures (either natural occurring ones on the field (such as cave ceilings, cliffs, etc), man made (buildings, etc) or jutsu made (up to C-Rank active structures)) to collapse and fall. This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock and dislodge any vulnerable or sensitive spots, causing the structure to collapse. This can be especially useful if in a cave or a stone lodging. The technique can loosen the rocks and cause them to come raining down on whomever is trapped inside. The damage depends on the size of the cavern or rock lodging above or nearby the target and not on the amount of chakra used which doesn't need to be high. A large cave with a thick ceiling can easily do the physical damage equivalent to an A-Rank technique but due to the damage not being focused or chakra fueled, its also easily defendable.

Description: When used with Earth Release: Earth Flow River, the user will then perform the Ram → Horse → Dragon they can create a dragon-like head to fire concentrated mud at an opponent. This can also be combined with a fire jutsu to shoot lava toward an opponent.

This is a very basic projectile based technique. The user perform 3 hand seals and spew out a dense, concentrated ball of mud. Medium size, not so big it will cover your vision when sending it. This jutsu can be in combos with two other jutsus, its also able to travel a long range. Its one of the really basic techs but being able to hit an opponent will hurt their vision as well as push them back. Simplicity is a good thing, by the way.

Description: After forming the needed hand seal Tiger, the user transforms the ground underneath their opponent into a river of mud that throws them off balance and away from the user. The mud created by this technique can also be used as a medium for the Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet technique.

With one hand seal you will create a river of mud under the opponent feet. Its throw them off balance as well as the mud carrying the opponent away. From their it becomes difficult for the opponent to stand straight on a moving mud river. You can send attacks while he is down from the mud. The river is made short range of you, and the overall mud length is 5 meters long when created. Right when it is created you can move on to an attack.

Perform the technique: I start by weaving the seals Ram → Horse → Dragon, gathering my chakra as I do. The seals help me change the nature of my chakra to Earth. I then channel this Chakra into the ground beneath my feet, making the hard earth at my feet bend to my will. It becomes less like solid earth and more like mud, so it's easier to mold it into the desired Shape. I use Shape Manipulation to create a Dragon head that fires concentrated mud at high speeds in a safe direction.

Creative uses/strengths: I think you covered everything. The Dragon Head fires concentrated globs of mud that can blind your target, that's good as it gives you more time to set up your next move. The actual Dragon head could probably withstand a low rank Jutsu if it's used as a shield, giving it a slight defensive use. I can easily see myself combining this with the S-Rank Fire Dragon Jutsu for a more effective Jutsu.

Drawbacks/counters: Those seals take time if you don't specialize in Doton. Besides that it's just a medium sized dragon head that fires masses of Earth at the opponent. There isn't very much good or bad about it on it's own.

I agree. Even the most complicated and complex Jutsu can be countered with a simple, yet smart, analysis and combination. :)




Perform the technique: Same as before, I gather Chakra in my body and perform the required seal, Tiger. This assists me in changing the nature of my chakra to Earth. I use the chakra in a similar manner as before, causing the Earth beneath my feet to soften. This time, instead of using Shape Manipulation to give the earth actual form, I simply use my chakra to force the earth back from me, sort of like a weak, Earth Style Almighty Push that only works in one direction.

Creative uses/strengths: It's good for Close Range engagements. You use this to push the opponent back if they are trying to get the upper hand. One would assume if this is like other "mud" Earth Variants, when it's heated with Fire Style it would harden, trapping your target up to their waist in solid dirt. it also mentions throwing the opponent off balance. This is used in a few techniques and is good for stopping your target from weaving signs or throwing tools, giving this jutsu some good supplementary and defensive uses. Plus it only requires one seal, so it's pretty quick to use. :)

Drawbacks/counters: It could be so much better if it had more range, but I guess it makes sense for it to only reach Short Range, given it's practical uses. Besides the range, I think it's a good technique. :)

(Doton: Ganchuro no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Rock Pillar Prison Technique

Description: After performing the required hand seals Rat → Horse → Dog → Snake and they then create a large amount of rock pillars to rise from under ground. They can then be controlled to surround their opponent and create a bamboo-like prison of rock.

The user will do 4 hand seals a have rock pillars around the opponent rise from the ground. They are controlled to surround the opponent leaving them trapped. Now the pillars move quick fast when rising, their purpose is simply to trap nothing more. The opponent if caught would take them some time to free themselves before you send an attack. You will have a window of attack. Simple ways if you are stuck in the prison is cutting it with a sword running lightning, or slicing them with wind. Its best cutting them off.

(Doton: Doroku Gaeshi) - Earth Release: Earth Shore Return

Description: After striking the ground with their hands, the user manipulates the ground in front of him to form a slab that tilts upwards, up to 90º, creating a wall of earth that can defend from incoming frontal attacks. In addition, the user can also create 2 slabs that will rise and tilt to the sides in front of him, as if "opening up" the ground. This can be done to create a clear path if anything hazardous is above the ground in that specific area.

An extremely basic defensive technique. The user will place their hands on the ground rising a large wall upfront of them to block frontal attacks. Note the user can not see through the wall. Its sturdy enough to stop most projectile based techniques. Now as said you can not see through the wall so you can be surprised by attacks from the sides, above or even underground so anticipate an attack from those areas.

Perform the technique: I start by weaving together the signs Rat → Horse → Dog → Snake. These assist me in gathering and Changing the Nature of my chakra. Once I have gathered enough Chakra, and it's nature has become Earth, I channel it through the ground. With my Chakra spread through the ground, I use Shape Manipulation to control several pillars of stone and have them rise from the ground. They quickly form a large "prison", made from the earth, allowing me, once my target is trapped, to momentarily take advantage of their circumstance and potentially finish them off.

Creative uses/strengths: Even though it requires 4 Seals, it's a pretty quick attack, with decent range, so it can be used with some room to change natures and use a more fatal attack. It's very easy to see that this has a few basic uses, like simply trapping your target or possibly defending from weaker attacks. But I can see myself using this to trap my target in Close proximity to ME. If they're trapped in close range with you, they won't be too quick to use attacks that cause major collateral damage, like Fireballs or other attacks that may backfire on them.

Drawbacks/counters: You're only creating a prison made from, when compared to other pillar type Earth Techniques, thin pillars that can easily be broken. This can easily be done with Lightning Release techniques, focused or channeled and can be broken down with unconventional means, like Taijutsu, since some Taijutsu attacks are the same rank as this Jutsu.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my hands, pooling it in my palms and fingers, and begin to change the nature of the Chakra to Earth. Once I've gathered the Chakra I drive my hands into the ground, spreading the chakra in my hands into the earth to form a hardened dense rectangular shape, that I then proceed to lift, using my hands. It creates a tall, thin defense for me to block basic incoming attacks and weak Elemental Ninjutsu. (That aren't Lightning Release. :rolleyes:)

Creative uses/strengths: It's a pretty basic defense, but it will provide great cover from basic attacks, since it can be done quickly. The other method is purely situational, using it to split heightened ledges does have advantages, like if the opponent is standing atop it, or if they are hiding behind it, splitting it will cause them to fall or remove their cover. Besides that there isn't much to note about this. It's a defense used to guard basic attacks.

Drawbacks/counters: Your line of sight with your opponent is broken which can lead to your opponent taking advantage of that. Attacks from the side, above and below would be pretty much expected. If I fight anyone using this, I'll just attack through it. Catch them off guard because they were to busy watching the sides. xD

Description: This technique lets the user summon a river of mud infront of them. This technique can have water added to it to speed up the flow and increase its power.

The opponent will create a river up front of them and send it towards the opponent, the river is made of mud and runs slow alone, so its best to add some water to speed it up and have a more impact power. If an opponent is caught they will have restricted movement due to the heaviness of the mud as well as be pushed back. The rver goes up to mid long range. After making the mud you cna go onto another tech making it combo friendly. I would personally heat up the mud and give it a higher attack potency. Its also quick to perform but the river is straightforward and easy to evade.

(Doton: Dochu Eigyo no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Underground Projection Fish Technique

Description: Using this jutsu, a person can hide underground until they're ready to attack an opponent by merging with the ground itself. By utilizing earth-chakra, the person can stealthily emerge from the ground without disrupting the ground around him. The disadvantage with this technique is that merging with the ground is rather slow and while perfomring the technique, the user is vulnerable to high ranked Earth techniques. The user isn't hidden from doujutsu or sensory ninjas and cannot travel beyond the 3 meter deep mark. Moving around in the ground is slow and the user cannot sense very well what is happening above.

This is mainly an evasion jutsu or set up jutsu. The user will slowly drop into the ground for either evading jutsus or escaping tough situations. Its very quick and simple to use. The other main way to use it, is that you can snick attack an opponent, a tough thing is you will be unable to sense anything down their so you must remember the opponents position. Also if an opponent figures out your underground your severely handicapped because you will be unable to perform any jutsu while underground. While rising from the ground though no opponent will be able to notice a disruption since its very silent. Its a great assassination type jutsu.

(Doton: Doryukatsu) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide

Description: The user will first perform the required hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and slamming the hands on the ground, the user can, by flowing concentrated chakra into the Dragon Veins flowing underground, tear the earth apart, creating large chasms by raising the earth in two oposite sides in the desired location and then splitting that piece of earth through the center. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are all up to the user. Manipulating the Dragon Veins requires fine chakra control, but if one has such skill, they can use this technique to divide the space between the enemy and their own team in two, destroy enemy camps or defences, and even to attack.
Note: This does not split the earth appart directly to cause opponents to fall in the fissure.

After doing the required hand seals and placing their hands on the ground they concentrate chakra into the dragon veins of the ground and split the ground apart. The user has full control how and where they want the earth to be torn, this is very efficient jutsu to change the terrain in your favor. For example splitting the ground between you and the opponent this can stop a fast opponent from getting in close as well as push them back. A problem with the jutsu is it takes some time to perform as well as execute, this can easily leave you open for attacks. If their is a dramatic terrain change you can use this to manipulate it in your favor. As shown in the anime the trees were filled with Amaterasu flames, Yamato split the earth apart where they flames where so they can bypass them unharmed. Depending on how much chakra you add the larger it will be.

Perform the technique: I gather chakra in my feet and change it's nature to Earth by using the aforementioned method of focusing on the key aspects of Earth, rigid, solid form etc. I then use this Chakra to create a mucky river of mud that slowly crawls across the ground.

Creative uses/strengths: If used with Water to increase it's speed, then with Fire, to harden it, it could be a very successful way to immobilize the opponent, as they would be up to their knees in solid earth. Since you would have used 3 Jutsu in this one combo' the best thing to do would free form the rest of the attack, like tossing a bunch of Kunai at the opponent or dashing at them and using a weapon to finish them. The Jutsu doesn't require seals, but the woman that uses it does some weird interpretive dance shit that could be a seal. >.>

Drawbacks/counters: Without Water to boost it's speed it's as slow as molasses in January. xD The technique isn't very good for anything other than immobilizing or throwing the opponent off balance. I don't really see myself using this unless I have a good enough opening tbh.




Perform the technique: I gather Earth Style Chakra throughout my entire body as I kneel down and touch the ground with my hand. I use the Earth Style Chakra spread throughout my body as a means for merging with the ground, similar to the Leech all Creation (or whatever it's called) Technique in Ninjutsu training. My body quickly merges with the ground, but I can't go (Incoming Inception joke in 3... 2... 1...) deeper than a few ft. I also feel more restricted than with other similar techniques, like the Hiding Like a Mole technique which allows you to use lower rank earth while you are submerged.

Creative uses/strengths: I can only see myself using this when I don't feel like looking up the Hiding like a Mole technique, as that does almost the same as this, but this one looks like it's a bit faster. Besides that, I don't see much point in this one tbh, it's almost identical to HLAM.

Drawbacks/counters: Since it's so much like HLAM, I'll assume it has the same weakness, if you use this and the opponent uses a Jutsu that disrupts the Earth, you will be buried alive. If it doesn't then, well, this technique just got a bit better.




Perform the technique: I perform the seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and release Earth style chakra into the ground, using it to affect great streams of Natural Energy below the surface of the Earth, known colloquially as Dragon Veins. This causes the ground to rise up out, due to the pressure being exerted by my Chakra on the Dragon Veins themselves. The ground rises, then splits in half creating a "V" shaped section of ground that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Creative uses/strengths: This can be used to defend incoming large attacks, or split you and your target up, perhaps causing confusion by catching them off guard. Besides that, it could possibly be used to get you out of harms way or to clear a path, like how Yamato showed the Jutsu being used, to avoid the Amaterasu that surrounded the Uchiha Hideout.

Drawbacks/counters: The seals and the process of rising the earth make it inefficient to use in the heat of a battle. Besides that, meh, it's okay. Still wish they would expand on the whole Dragon Vein thing in the description, that is so confusing if you haven't seen the Lost Tower Shippuden Movie, harder still when you don't remember the contents of the movie. :|

(Doton: Tsuchi Douyou no Hira) – Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.

A basic deception attack, after doing the hand seal and slamming their hand on the ground. The ground ahead of the user and up to mid-range begins to shake slightly, which will not hurt the balance but its what happens. Chunks of rocks will pop out very quickly. This is meant to shock or decieve the opponent in thinking its an attack where it really does not, so the opponent will react and go on the defensive or change their stance. You can quickly attack right after you slam your hand on the ground making it a nice jutsu for combo. You can also flee the area if needed in the NW.

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique.

Okay the user will send doton chakra through his arm encasing it with pure rock. With it the opponent is able to block techniques as well as deliver hard punches. Great for short range battle and simple to use, its purpose is simple as well. It has two hand seals. Your speed on the arm though is slowed down due to the extra weight. Also when you progress through doton you will be able to learn to specific techniques which can increase your weight and have a more destructive punch.

Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat →B ird is able to create a wide tunnel in the ground, this cannot travel through rock though or anything with a high density. The large tunnel that is created allows the user to transport others without detection.
Note: The initial entry of the technique is short range.

The user will perform 4 hand seals and create a hole on the ground which is a tunnel that can run long range. It can't though travel through high density rocks or material. So using it in mountain type terrains would be impossible. Using it on soil or a field is best. Now you can move through this tunnel but its not like hiding like a mole. You will not sense anything going on from above through a magnetic wave. You can though send the tunnel towards any area on the field. Its good to send clones or small summons through to set up a combo attack.

Perform the technique: I perform the Snake Seal and begin to gather Chakra in my hand. I change the nature of my Chakra to Earth by focusing on aspects of Earth Release, such as a rigid form and solid structure. Once I have gathered a sufficient amount of Chakra, I slam my fist into the ground and release the Earth Chakra I was gathering into the ground, up to mid range of me. I use this Chakra to affect the ground itself, causing it to shake slightly, not enough to elicit a stumble or anything like that, but a noticeable tremor affects the ground. Then, one by one, I use my Chakra to shoot small - medium sized boulders out of the ground, mainly for distraction, but can cause a small degree of physical damage. They provide excellent cover for hidden attacks, but also has decent offensive qualities on it's own.

Creative uses/strengths: using this to surround the opponent with upwards shooting boulders while a clone creates the Earth Release: Dropping Lid was one of the first ideas to pop into my head. If they can't move freely because of the boulders being shot from the ground, they'll be crushed. If they focus on the lid, they could miss some tools you toss at them through the debris, or maybe another attack you launch once you slam your hand on the ground. Diversionary tactics work best when you have at least 1 clone to assist in the attacks. The technique, as I just displayed, has great potential with other techniques, and doesn't require much to perform, one seal and one action for a technique that could help you crush the opponent isn't so bad.

Drawbacks/counters:On it's own it's pretty unimpressive. Best used with other actions like I said above. You can counter it with Lightning technique's that cover a wide area, like Nagashi, to destroy the rising rocks, while negating the effects of the ground around you. Of course this is if you use the omnidirectional, free flowing Nagashi. Other techniques that protect the user will do the same, preventing the rocks from doing damage to the user. Nagashi is the only example that comes to mind, but I'm sure there are more.




Perform the technique: I perform the Snake seal, then the seal of Confrontation (Half Tiger Seal) and gather Chakra in my entire arm. The seals I performed help me change the nature of my Chakra to Earth, I then take this Earth Style Chakra and release it from my entire arm. Then, using Shape manipulation, I create rock from the Chakra, encasing my arm in a hardened rock.

Creative uses/strengths: Nice for CQC, as free form Tai/ Ken attacks won't work on the rock. It's also god if you want to physically attack the opponent, but fear that they could have a trick up their sleeve, this would prevent, or at least, lessen any damage taken. Using it in tandem with Taijutsu would increase any damage a Taijutsu technique would do, as your fist is stronger than normal.

Drawbacks/counters: If it slows your arm down, it makes it easier for the opponent to hit it. Using Lightning based Jutsu on the arm would make the defense this technique provides null, as Earth is both weak to, and slower than, Lightning. Using an Earth technique that slows you down, and is weak to Lightning basically gives the opponent a Las Vegas style Neon sign that says "Hit Here".




Perform the technique: I perform the seals Ram → Dog → Rat →Bird and gather Chakra in my body. I use the aforementioned seals to change the nature of my Chakra to Earth, while I channel the Chakra into the ground beneath my feet. I use the Chakra to create a small, narrow tunnel through shape manipulation.

Creative uses/strengths: I can only really see myself using this in the way you described. Sending a clone or maybe a summon through the ground to set up for a collaboration. It's best to send clones or summons as trying to sneak yourself through the ground is more dangerous. If you are able to surround the opponent and use different elements, you gain the upper hand, as they can't perform multiple elements in multiple directions. (Unless they have something like Yin/ Yang).

Drawbacks/counters: Besides being used to take the opponent by surprise, by smuggling clones/ summons like you noted, it doesn't really have any proper battle applications. If the opponent has a Doujutsu or some kind of Sensory ability, they'll be able to see/ sense anyone/ anything traveling through the ground, so there won't be much of a surprise. Using most any Earth Technique that covers a wide area, and possibly affects the terrain, would cause the tunnel to collapse.

The user will summon two normal sized earth walls in each flank of the opponent which come together not to crush but trap them restricting their movement, then you can send a finishing attack. Rather basic, the walls move at a fast pace, and the user needs to do one hand seal. The opponent can still however counter it even if they are caught it restricts only movement nothing more. Very simple but nice to use in combos.

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra releasing it into the ground and with a wave of their arm or through the application of a weapon can cause a small wall of dust particles and sand to rise up from the ground and thrusting forwards. This technique creates a simple dust screen that will fade away after 3 turns.

A basic defense jutsu, the user will manipulate the debris on the ground to rise by a wave of the hand to create a dust wall. It is simple enough to protect the user from projectile techniques. If an opponent comes to close you can use it to force him back because if they get to close to the wall it has a type of property able to push someone back some meters. Lastly since its made of dust you can see through it. After summoning the dust screen it will remain for 3 turns before it fades away, it can block the vision from you and you're opponenet. This will be advantage because you can use a snick attack right after you summon the dust. Its a little larger then the opponent.

Description: The user manipulating their chakra will point their palm or fist at the opponent, creating a large rock on it which he then sends at the opponent. Alternatively, the user can "spit" the rock. In this case he will spit a large globule of mud which hardens mid way towards the opponent into a large rock.

Basic technique the user will simply use the earth to raise a huge rock and sends it at the opponent. This technique is projectile based and very easy to perform as well as quick. Its combo friendly as well as its able to go a very long range. Its easy to counter though and straightforward jutsu. If you have no earth source you can just spit out a large mud sphere which hardens to rock mid way pushing the opponent back.

Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my body as I perform the Snake Seal. This allows me to channel Earth Style Chakra for this particular Jutsu. I channel the Chakra into the ground and use Shape Manipulation to raise two sections of Ground that raise and fold in towards each other, but not entirely. It simply makes movement more restrictive.

Creative uses/strengths: Nice for keeping the opponent in one general spot for a small amount of time before they either escape using a Lightning Jutsu to destroy the rock, or something like raising themselves outside of the areas trapped by the rock, or like with hiding Like a Mole. Could be a nice way to funnel the Starch Syrup Capture Field and catch the opponent in a general area. It's pretty fast, since you only need one seal, and it can reach Mid Range, giving it diversity in ranges.

Drawbacks/counters: The opponent, while unable to move as freely as normal, will still have a clear line of sight on you, and a clear chance to take a shot. Best to use this when the opponent is distracted, to lessen the chance of being hit by something while you form the walls that compress them in. As for countering, most Lightning Jutsu can overwhelm it, while other techniques like the aforementioned HLAM allows you to escape, but the opponent will see you escaping, and will attack accordingly.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my body and change it's nature to Earth Style. I release it into the ground and use it to break down the surface of the ground, creating manipulable dust/ sand particles. I then flick my hand in the other direction and watch as a wall of Dust and Sand travels off in that direction.

Creative uses/strengths: Pretty good for breaking your line of sight with the opponent or even blinding them with particles of stuff. Use with caution though, if the opponent blows it back towards you, they can gain the upper hand. They can also use the cover same as you. Using something like Chidori True Spear to simply attack you through the wall of dust.

Drawbacks/counters: Like I said above, what goes for you is the same for the opponent. Breaking your line of sight is always dangerous, so it's best to use something like this with caution. Like I also mentioned before, using Chidori Spear to attack through the wall, or a powerful enough Wind Style Jutsu to blow it back at the opponent seem like good counters to me.




Perform the technique: I gather Earth Style Chakra in my mouth and use Shape Manipulation to create a small glob of Earth, similar to a few of the Jutsu found in earth Style. I then spit this out, and as it is shot out at high speeds, it solidifies and hardens to the point it becomes lethal. It travels a great distance before hitting the ground.

Creative uses/strengths: Looks like it can be used easily with Water/ Wind to increase its destructive power, using either to increase the overall force, or the speed of the bullet. Since no seals are used, it's pretty quick, very quick at the rate the Iwa Nin were firing them during the last episode. (Sannin Deadlock Flashback)

Drawbacks/counters: It's still pretty weak when you compare it to other techniques in other Elements of the same Rank. The size of the technique can't be any larger than the inside of your mouth, or you'd choke on it spitting it out. xD Compare that to a Fireball Jutsu, not much is it? Can be countered by almost any Lightning Projectile, and any Earth technique of the same rank or higher that's larger will be able to overwhelm it. Like you said, pretty basic, so counters for it are too.

A quick jutsu to use, the user will summon a huge rock from the ground to rise up, which he then begins to control and sends towards the opponent from above. He then sends the rock to crash down upon the opponent. Its a very good jutsu to use for attacks above but you must keep control of the rock. The rock is moves at a normal pace and the performance of the jutsu is quick. Its great to distract the opponent while using this technique, also to counter it best to try and attack the rock before it comes close to you. Huge downside to this jutsu is you can only move the rock up to short range and that is dangerous for a opponent who is strong with taijutsu can easily get to you qith quickness.

Very similar to the technique. The user claps their hands and unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on each side of the opponent that appears anywhere close to the opponent, it acts to try to attack the chin or any other area around them. The impact can cause the opponent to fly back in the air. As said before they are left vulnerable in the air, they rise quite quick and the opponent can sense the density happen in the ground before they officially rise so they can anticipate an attack. Difference is you can only use it up to mid-range the most.


( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

The user will stomp on the ground and make the ground shake and tear through small fractures through the ground which will then force the ground fragments rise all over the area where the tore went through. The fragments will appear also around the opponent rising to hit them into the air with some serious force. They will be dealt damage as well as be vulnerable in the air. Simple and very fast jutsu after you stomp on the ground you can move on to your next attack.

Perform the technique: I simply gather Chakra in my hands and place them on the ground, changing the nature of my Chakra to Earth as I do so. I use this Earth Style Chakra to control a large section of rock, lifting it into the air over my head effortlessly, before slamming it straight down to the ground, and like, as the name says, a hammer. The opponent would be, in this case, the nail.

Creative uses/strengths: It doesn't require any seals, and even though it can only be used in Short range, I feel that's where it works best. Oonoki uses this as his Down Combo in the Storm Games, and it does have a nice animation, so I know what to expect from this Jutsu. In a CQC battle it looks like a cool Jutsu to use if you have a chance, slamming the opponent into the ground with a large section of rock. It won't kill anyone, but it doesn't have to. This is less about killing the target and more about just breaking some bones.

Drawbacks/counters: Since the rock needs to be controlled, if the opponent can tell if this Jutsu is coming, there is little you can do to counter. Since you're focusing on the section of rock, you can't channel Chakra for anything else, but the opponent, if given enough of an opening, could try and use anything, even a Ninja tool, to hit a vital spot, and the user would be unable to respond without stopping channeling the Chakra for this Jutsu, and if you're mid-way through swinging the rock over your head, it'd drop on you if you stop focusing on it. As for countering it, almost any Lightning Jutsu could destroy the rock, as it's just a section of rock that you control via Chakra, nothing special.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my hands and change the nature of the Chakra to Earth. I then clasp my hands together, releasing the Chakra into the ground. I lift two sections of rock from the ground and have them shoot forward a couple of meters. If someone were in front of me, they would be knocked back through the sheer force of the sections of rock slamming into them.

Creative uses/strengths: Another one of Oonoki's combo's from the Storm series, this time it's the neutral combo. To be honest this one isn't very unique. You're basically taking pillars or sections of rock, and slamming them into the target. Basic stuff, like with the Earth Release technique, only less creative. Fair enough, it's Mid Range, but an increased Range than any similar techniques doesn't make it any better. Besides dealing physical damage and knocking the enemy back, there isn't much you can do with this Jutsu.

Drawbacks/counters: The technique is pretty basic, and it announces it's activation, so these will work against you when using them. As for how to counter it, basic Lightning style Jutsu will tear through it, while more creative counters will work too, like using the Earth Release technique to jump up out of the path of this Jutsu. Pretty basic drawbacks and counters for a basic Jutsu.




Perform the technique: I start by gathering Chakra in my feet, changing the nature of the Chakra to Earth as I do. Then I raise my foot and slam it into the ground, fracturing it as I do, then, I use the Earth Chakra in my feet to control the small fragments, raising them up. If someone were unfortunate enough to be standing on the ground as it's raised up, they would be knocked into the air, dealt decent blunt force damage in the process.

Creative uses/strengths: Besides setting you up for a nice Air Combo in the Storm series, and by association here, this Jutsu is unimpressive. You do mention that it's speed is good though, so it might be a nice way to set up a quick execution via Lightning Release. Since the target is in the air, dodging will prove difficult.

Drawbacks/counters: Since it's quick to perform and can be done from a safe distance, it leaves very little openings, but all you're doing is fracturing the ground and controlling small fragments to attack the opponent, which would be very weak when compared to something like a basic Lightning Jutsu, since the rocks are small, and therefore easy to break down.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

Okay after doing two hand seal and placing their hands on the ground the user will have the ground spiral in on itself, attempting to capture and crush the opponent. It can easily bury the opponent alive and the movement of the jutsu us actually quite fast. Its a great ground attack and great to use against a faster opponent on ground and since it spreads a long range its tough to evade. The user must keep their hands on the ground the duration the ground caves in. Its good to use with a partner or a clone.

Description: The user of this technique condenses the soil and rock in the area to sprout out in the form of four large spikes which attack the target from four separate directions to make it harder to evade. However, it can be easilty avoided by escaping upwards.

The user will condense the soil and rock around the area in 4 directions around the opponent and summon 4 spears out of the ground which travel towards the center to come together all 4, now of course the opponent is meant to be in the middle and the spears act to try and pierce the opponent from all over the body. They appear in four directions around the opponent making it hard to evade, but you can still evade above or below. The spears act to try and cage the opponent in. After the spears come together you can begin to the next jutsu, if you want to execute it properly.

Description: The user creates their clone out of stone that he spits from his mouth. Unlike other types of clones the rock clones don’t disappear after being defeated but rather crumble like rubble. These clones can also be used to create a clone of other people than themselves but do not take on the abilities of the copied person. They can use up to C-Rank Earth techniques and are very resistant to physical damage such as that from Taijutsu which they can endure up to B-Rank.

Okay the opponent will make an exact copy of themselves or another person who they have seen, made of rocks and earth chakra. It will look just like you though it will not have any abilities of yours or that opponent. Its very nice to use for deception and can be made fast. The most this clones/copies can do is move around but not fast. Note the clone is made short range of the user but can move around any range. When the clone is destroyed it will turn to rubble of regular rocks that can be used for jutsus in the future. Also the most it can use is up to C-Rank earth and can endure B-Rank taijutsu damage which can be used to distract the opponent in close range battle while you send attacks to finish the opponent off.

Perform the technique: I perform the seals Boar → Ox and gather Chakra in my hands. Once I have gathered my Chakra, and changed its nature I slam my hand into the ground, channeling the Chakra through the ground. A safe distance away from me, the ground starts to spiral inwards, like with Kamui, tearing the Earth itself apart and collapsing it in on itself. If a target was in the radius of the Jutsu, they would be compressed, crushed or squashed by the force of the ground collapsing in on itself.

Creative uses/strengths: This technique can be used to either kill a target that's standing on the ground, or to force them to another part of the field, perhaps one you have prepared with a trap or a partner/ clone in waiting. If this technique is fast it means if the opponents senses are disrupted for even a second, they'd be caught in the Jutsu, so a Genjutsu would be a nice way to start this technique off. Besides that, the low number of seals and the fact it works on all Ranges, but at close range you may be in the Jutsu's radius, makes this Jutsu pretty balanced.

Drawbacks/counters: If your hand requires constant contact with the ground then you can't use this with other Jutsu, so it means a partner/ clone is kinda required to pull off combo's with, at least until the opponent is buried anyway by this technique. You can counter this using any Jutsu to remove yourself from the area. The basic Earth Release could facilitate an escape I think, creating a small pillar from the ground that you can jump off. (Now that I think about it, this Jutsu could probably just break that pillar down, since it's stronger anyway...) Using a Lightning Style Jutsu to negate the Earth Style Chakra could also be a good counter, tearing through the Earth and negating the Earth Style Chakra. Other than that, I don't think there is any way to properly negate it, as once you are caught, you'd be pulled in, your legs and the rest of your body would be compressed by all the ground and rocks etc until your bones are broken and you'd die from suffocation, either from the Earth or from like your lung(s) being punctured by a broken rib or something. Not a nice way to go...




Perform the technique: I simply gather Chakra and convert its nature to Earth. Then, I channel this Chakra through my body, into the ground, hardening and solidifying the soft soil at my feet and turning it into spears of stone. They burst out of the ground from separate directions Mid Range away from me and connect in the middle. Anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in the middle of it would have few leaks, and also be dead...

Creative uses/strengths: Using this to impale the opponents, very quickly I might add since there are no seals, is the basic use of this technique, but there are other ways to use it. It can be used to force the opponent into the air or below the ground, as both are good places for you to catch them off guard. In the air, people are susceptible to quick attacks, like Lightning and below ground, one Dark Swamp Jutsu can trap them and suffocate them in a matter of seconds.

Drawbacks/counters: Just thinking about how I can dodge this has me thinking about how I can counter it if I try to. If it's almost impossible to dodge it by going to the sides, back or forwards, then up or down are best, but they both make you an even bigger target, as in the air, you have little control of how fast you'll go and how you move. In the ground, one simple Earth Technique to disrupt whatever is keeping you alive down there and you're dead. As for how you can counter the technique itself, using the free flowing, Short Range of Chidori Nagashi would work well, covering you from all angles and breaking the spears down to nothing.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my mouth and change it's nature to Earth Style. Inside my mouth, I create a small rock (Yuck...) which I continue to fill with Chakra, and as I do so, it expands. I spit it out and watch as it rapidly grows, molding itself into a physical copy of myself. As soon as I have completed this process, I stop channeling Chakra for the technique, and undo the Jutsu, the clone disassembles back down to rubble and rocks.

Creative uses/strengths: Even though it's a clone, this one is more suited for actual combat, and even able to withstand minor damage from tools and Taijutsu, requiring the highest level of non-specialized Taijutsu for it to have any effect. And since this Clone can use Earth up to C-Rank, it can also use the hiding like a Mole technique, which itself can do the same, allowing you to create a powerful clone that can act as a sort of distraction, creating Earth techniques from below the ground and distracting the opponent, while you yourself attack them above the ground.

Drawbacks/counters: Because it's a Clone Jutsu, it obviously abides by the same rules that governs them, but this one only allows you to create one at a time, meaning if it isn't used in the most efficient manner, you are wasting a Clone Jutsu usage. Besides that, it's a clone so there is no real immediate danger to you, and any drawbacks would be down to the scenario in which it's used.

Description: The user surrounds themselves with earth, taken from the immediate vicinity, in order to fabricate a formation of rock that is capable of protecting both the user and others in close proximity, if desired. Doing so, seemingly leaves the surrounding terrain unaltered, even when the quantity of earth used is enough to form a complete dome around multiple individuals as seen when Ittan used this technique. The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi.

This is a strict defensive based technique. The user will manipulate the ground around them to create a dome of their size to intercept attacks, great thing about it is you can protect other people who are in close range of you, so its a nice technique to use for tag team battles to help your ally or anything close to that like summons or clones. Its a basic technique and simple to perform. You can also manipulate it to create small holes to take looks of the outside to be prepared and know whats going on.

Description:The user slams his hands on the ground and creates a 1/4 dome of earth, which protects them from frontal external attacks. The domes shape is in a similar fashion to wood release: wood locking walls.

The user will manipulate the ground close to you to rise a arced shape dome of earth protecting you frontal area. Its half face dome basically, its not very large in height but is very much in width. It can withstand basic attacks and is created short range of the user. You as well as the opponent will not be able to see through the dome.

Description: This jutsu is basically a widespread version of the Mudshot Technique; allowing the user to fire at multiple targets.

This jutsu is very similar to its weaker C-Rank counter part. It has the same similar traits, it can force an opponent back, when hit on the face their vision is hurt due to mud all over the place and they can choke. You can also aim on the ground to have a opponent trip over. Its also a projectile technique so you can quickly send another tech without hesitation. This time you can send more then one, though note the more you send the weaker each get.

Perform the technique: I gather Chakra throughout my body and change it's nature to Earth by focusing on the main aspects of Earth Release, sturdy form and heavy weight. I then channel this Chakra into the ground at my feet, using it to alter existing earth, rock and debris. Through Shape manipulation of already existing materials, it is quicker than if it was created just with Chakra alone, and also appears more naturally, acting almost like natural camoflage as I surround myself with a natural earthen defense.

Creative uses/strengths: A pretty decent Earth Release defensive technique, allowing the user to defend B-Rank Jutsu, except for Lightning which would be C-Rank and Water which would be A-Rank. Since the user can alter it as they see fit, they not only can they use small openings to peek at the opponent and see what they are planning next, the Chakra that fills the structure and allows the user to alter it would make Doujutsu useless at seeing the actions of the user, but that reverse is also true for the user. If you have a Sharingan and use this Jutsu to defend, you're gonna have a bad time.

Drawbacks/counters: The Jutsu doesn't really have any flaws, it's defensive and as such would only be used to defend a move you should know it can block. To be used in any other way would be stupid. Countering is easy, B-Rank Lightning would tear through this and carry on as C-Rank, but if the user is creating a hole through which they are spying, you could try and drown them, filling the area with a lot of water, and perhaps use that to increase the effectiveness of a follow up Lightning Jutsu.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra again and change it';s Nature to earth via the aforementioned method. I then channel this Chakra into my hands, slamming them into the ground, and using Shape Manipulation to, once again, alter already existing materials, this time to create a half-dome in front of me.

Creative uses/strengths: Since you're only creating a half dome, for frontal attacks, this process is definitely going to be quicker than the last technique, simply because you aren't creating a large defensive wall. Can be used to stop basic frontal attacks, the ranks fo which are the same as the previous Jutsu's, only this one would be quicker in it's creation. I'm unsure if, like the last one, the Chakra in the wall would prevent the opponent or the user to see through it to some degree with Doujutsu, but I'll assume the Chakra remains for a few moments before disappearing.

Drawbacks/counters: Like the last one it's situational, and therefor it can't be said that this Jutsu has any glaring flaws, since you'll only use it to defend techniques that you know it will work against. Things it doesn't have that the last one does though is complete and total defense, this one only works on frontal attacks, since it's a half dome shape. As for counters, same as the last technique, Lightning attack will break through, especially of the same rank or higher, and the same is true for surrounding the target with Water, to increase the damage of a Lightning attack.




Perform the technique: I gather Chakra in my mouth, and change it's nature to Earth via the aforementioned method. I use Shape manipulation to give this Chakra physical form, in the form of mud that is very sticky/ adhesive. I then gather this mud at the front of my mouth and fire it in the form of a fast projectile that travel a great distance and hits a tree. I repeat this several times, hitting many far off targets, with each projectile reducing the power of the overall Jutsu.

Creative uses/strengths: The user is firing long range globs of sticky mud that can blind or suffocate a target, that can be handy if you are in trouble, and the removal of which can be dangerous to the target if they don't use the right Jutsu. Since it's a projectile attack, once it's fired you can switch to a different Jutsu, but if you want to fire multiple shots, they were shown to be fired one at a time by Gozu, so I assume they work the same way here. Would be good to use with Starch Syrup Capture Field to add to the restriction on the opponent, as well as make channeling for Lightning Jutsu dangerous.

Drawbacks/counters: They are pretty small, so they can easily be overpowered by large scale techniques. Other than that, I like this one, great range, it was shown to have great speed and force and has a special use. (Suffocating/ Blinding the target).

Description: The user after after using earth release: earth flow wave, will perform the snake hand seal and then will create a large needle out of it to impale the opponent.
Note: Must use Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave before hand

A rather basic technique. After you perform the earth flow wave under the opponent, the user will do one hand seal and have a large rock of needle out of the river to impale the opponent from under, its hard to notice the spike about to come because of the mud under you, its best to stop this to happen all together right when the river appears first. Overall its a basic technique which can only work up to short.

(Doton: Doro Ookami) - Earth Release: Mud Wolves

Description: A trap technique in which the user will place somewhere and is activated upon contact with the opponent's chakra. The user uses a scroll to lay the trap in which releases mud that forms into the shape of wolves that will attack the enemy target/s. Despite being damaged the wolves can reform which can keep the enemy occupied to allow the enemy make a getaway. (Can only create a maximum of 3 mud wolves)
Note: Takes one turn to set the trap up and wolves only last two turns

The user will place a scroll somewhere around the terrain with your chakra infused, after one turn the scroll will be released and summon wolves made of mud. The more scrolls you set the more wolves that come out, 3 is the maximum. When the wolves are released they will charge at the opponent with great speed, this wolves moves by your will, you tell them what to do, but during the duration you do you can't use another technique because you must remain focused on the wolfs. Lastly a great ability is any attack they take which is taijutsu,kenjutsu, or any low ranked attack the wolfs can reform. This is a great jutsu to set up attacks and combos to a great extent. The more wolfs you make the more chakra it will cost.
