Advantages are that you can change large portions of the terrain to your advantage and you can catch your opponent off guard by changing the ground directly under him or in an area that he may land. As a disadvantage you have to be making contact with the ground to change the terrain or manipulate the earth in any way.

Right, let me add some more.

Advantages of Method

Unlike the last method, you are given the ability utilize the actual earth and bend it to your will. This broadens the scope of your abilities greatly, and gives you easier access to your opponent. Many of these techniques extend their reach in range and if your opponent is on the ground as well, you can use these techniques to reach your opponent more quickly or even have them activate close to your opponent without having to worry about techniques traveling, which gives your opponent a larger window of time to avoid. You are still able to do much of what you could’ve in the last method as well with these sort of techniques while having the advantage of affecting the earth around you and your opponent for offensive and defensive purposes.

Disadvantages of Method

The downside to this method is the fact that you need the earth in order to be able to perform many of these tasks. Without connection to the earth or the ability to channel your chakra into the earth, it makes it difficult/impossible to use these techniques and that gets rid of the versatility you gain from this method. Now, I believe there is controversy that you don’t necessarily need to be touching/making contact with the earth in someway to use these techniques. I’ve seen this done before but I’m not sure on whether it’s official or not. Personally, I believe that you would need to be connected to the ground in order to manipulate it in such a way. However, if not, I would say be no further than the range limitations away from the ground for the jutsu. For example, if you use a technique that reaches up to mid range, don’t have your body be more than mid-range off the ground. To be 100% safe though, I would say you should always be connected to the ground if you are to use an earth ranked technique that falls within this category.

Any questions, regarding this?

(Doton: Gansetsukon) - Earth Release: Rock Section Cane
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Offense
Range: Short (Mid on throw)
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: This technique allows the user to take a small chunk of rock and turn it into the shape of a staff. The user can then use it as a melee weapon or throw it with pinpoint accuracy at their opponent. A variation of this technique allows the user to create several staffs and launch them at the target, but with less accuracy.

Quite easy and basic. You take a small rock and gather your Earth chakra, inserting it into the rock. You then take "hold" of the rock's properties, and shape manipulate it to shape it into a staff. This(the staff) would approximately be almost your height, and you can hurl them as a projectile weapon towards your opponent, which goes upto mid-range. An another application is to create several staffs, but the chakra within them gets divided, so they are individually very weak, as well as less accurate in their impact.

Seems like it would take a long time to actually pull out of the ground and form into a staff. I mean other than that it would be a useful technique used as a projectile.

(Doton: Ganban Kyu) - Earth Release: Bedrock Coffin
Rank: C
Type: Offense
Range: Mid/Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: After performing the Rat hand seal, the user to control multiple sections of rock and move them around their opponent. The user then forms two gigantic sections that crush the opponent.

This is an alright tech. You weave the Rat handseal, and use your Doton chakra to manipulate the surrounding Earth by infusing your chakra into it, and spatially recompose it to form several sections of Earth to rise in an almost diagonal arc from both the sides, and then you finally manipulate it to form two gigantic sections, both shaped like semi-circles that "close" in on the opponent, which could be used to crush him. Since, the jutsu spawns a wide range, it's given as Mid/Long, and if you use it in short range, you'll get caught in it too.

I guess it has a good idea, with converging rock around the opponent and crushing them. But does require a handseal.. not much more to add. You can't use it short range or you'll be trapped in it as well

(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: This technique lets the user create a few rock pillars that will protrude from the ground to skew the target. The rock pillars will even pass through obstacles to reach their target if these are less dense. The pillars/spikes can be done in any earthen surface, including other earth techniques of the user.

A very commonly used jutsu, and quite useful, if used at the right time. You channel your Earth chakra into the ground below the opponent, and control the Earth, manipulating it to give it the shape of sharp spikes. Doesn't require handseals, and you can make the spikes burst out of the ground with a simple hand gesture. These are very dense, and can skewer your opponent, killing him, if he doesn't defend in time. The ground's properties obviously start changing once the jutsu starts, so the opponent can deduce it and escape with a Wind, or a Water technique. You can use the B-Ranked Earth armor to defend yourself against it. Like other Earth techniques, you can perform this on any Earth source, provided it's solid. Needn't be necessary, that it's always the ground.

(Doton: Yochi no Douyou) - Earth Release: World Shaking
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will concentrate and release their chakra into the ground to create a small tremer that can result in making the enemies lose their footing and fall to ground or miss the aim of a given technique.

Another basic and useful technique. You focus your chakra into the ground below the opponent, and manipulate the Earth, loosening it's core somewhat, making the ground shake and causing a small tremor. This is particularly useful to cut off the opponent from performing his technique, and you can make him/her fall towards the ground. Once you do that, you can simply follow up with another technique, which would be difficult for him to avoid. A lot of people use this to distract the direction of high ranked attacks or interrupt handseals with such a low ranked jutsu.

Ive always hated this form of training. It's very hard to keep up with what has been learned and what hasn't. Luckily for us, Adachi has taught you up to the Earth Armor technique, which was then covered by Deadpool, so we will start from there. I'll try to not include jutsu that you've already lesrned, but if I do, let me know.

All I want you to do is give a small analysis of each jutsu and then perform them as well.

(Doton: Iwa Keiro) – Earth Style: Rock Trail
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user slams their hands on the ground and giant rocks rise up and jag the opponent from underneath

Basically, you slam you palms on the ground to channel your chakra into the ground beneath your opponent. Then you use it to manipulate the earth found there into forming giant rocks that raise out of the ground to jag your opponent from beneath.

Because the rocks come up from under the opponent it could make it tricky to counter against. Its a fairly quickly released jutsu because you need no handseals to perform. Its a fairly simple yet effective jutsu that could be used to hit a falling opponent or interrupt and opponents jutsu.

Slamming both hands onto the ground, I release my doton chakra into it causing multisized rock to erupt from the ground in a line stopping at a location mod range from me.

Good job. Oh, and I forgot to mention. If you think of any good combos, list them in your analysis, you can look back on this later and get ideas for fights that way!

Im going to start listing two techniques at once, but if I see that you aren't putting as much effort into each technique, we will go back down to one. I think you can handle it though.

(Doton: Nentsuchi Otoshi) – Earth Release: Sticky Earth Drop
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does 2 handseals (Ram → Snake) and creates an opening within the sky, which drips down onto the opponent a large amount of sticky mud (in all similar to that of Swamp of the Underworld Technique), covering them. The mud is very heavy and thick as well as adhesive, making it impossible to move if caught and easily crushing an enemy underneath. It’s normally followed up by Lightning release: sixteen pillar bind to create a giant oven around the opponent and then using Fire release: Firing biscuit technique to ignite the oven, hardening the mud and immobilizing the enemy target

Alright, so this one is pretty straight forward. Two hand seals to open a portal above your opponent, releasing a very sticky, very thick, mud like substance. If you are successful at covering your opponent, it will restrict their movements for a follow up attack.

(Doton: Otoshibuta) – Earth Release: Dropping Lid
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After doing the Snake handseal and slamming his hands on the ground, he user creates a portal above the target, high in the sky from which a giant, boar-shaped, earthen lid drops and falls on the target, trapping it underneath. The lid can be hollow or solid, depending on if the user wants to deal damage to the enemy or not. Because of its size, to safely used, the lid has to be created at least mid range from the user otherwise he will also be caught inside. The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta.

Fairly straight forward technique. One hand seal followed by slamming your palms on the ground to open another portal above your opponent. This time though, you are releasing an earthen structure that has a lid shape. Multiple uses, customizable in relation to density and size, decent technique overall.

The first tech is one that can potentially catch your opponent by surprise because it comes from above from basically no where. Thought it is usually followed up by a complimentary jutsu, by itself it accomplishes many things. It can interrupt what ever your opponent is doing and can act as a distraction. And the stickiness and thinckness works to completely immobilize the opponent.

Performing 2 handseals, i materialize a portal to appear intl the air. From the portal, a sticky, thick liquid , more like mud which is dropped out from it. When placed onto someone the liquid would cover them to the point movements would be restricted.

Much like the other technique this one can also be instrumental into catching your opponent off gaurd and creates a portal from above your opponent. Because there is many diffent factors you can change to the lid it allows for more opportunities to be applied to. It also has to be mid range to prevent the user from being trapped themselves. This tech is a bit easier to notice though because of its size. Because of it falling in the air a good complement could be using the falling lid to take the opponents attention then using another technique from underneath them while the lid falls.

After performing the snake handseal, I create another portal in sky mid range from me. From the portal I create a think hollow lid used to trap something underneath it. If i wanted to deal damage i would make it solid to just crush mu opponent underneath.

Good, but try to put more detail in the performance part of your replies. Things like, how did you form the sticky mud? How big was the lid you dropped? How far into the air do you open the portals? All of these details can be important, depending on what happens in your fights. Good though. Moving on

(Doton Kage Bunshin) – Earth Release Shadow Clone
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique creates a clone made of mud. Since its made of mud, it can continue to reform and mold itself back to its original shape even after taking physical damage (up to C-Rank). An unique use is that after reverting to mud, it can hold the opponent in place as a binding technique. They can also use up to C rank earth techniques.

This one is pretty cool. You form a clone made of mud, so it has all of the benefits of being a shadow clone, but it's a bit weaker. This clone can only be sustained within short range of you. You stand still, and it runs to mid range, it turns back into a pile of mud. It can only use up to C-Rank earth techniques, but can be used to restrain your opponent as well.

(Doton: Musaborudzuchi) – Earth Release: Devouring Earth
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user performs the Ram → Horse → Tiger → Rabbit → Snake and slams their palm on the ground. Instantly, the ground to the sides of the opponent take the shape of huge jaws and attempt to crush and stab him between them. The size of the jaws can be adjusted to fit the size of the opponent or other uses

After forming a few hand seals, you concentrate your chakra under your opponent. Then you form the earth found there into a set of jaws with very sharp teeth. Making the jaws clamp, you can crush/impale your target. This jutsu is also customizable when it comes to size, so that's something else to consider.

A pretty useful technique that allows you to create an identical clone of yourself. It can be used to deceive your opponent into thinking that they are fighting you, but they would actually be fighting a clone. Similar to shadow clone jutsu, only difference is that these clones can only use up to C rank earth jutsu. Once the clones are destroyed they revert back to mud which can potentially trap the opponent. What also makes this tech useful is its ability to reform itself. A few disadvantages to this vs the shadow clone jutsu is that this clone needs to stay short range of you and also can only use up to c rank earth.

I begin by forming a glob of mud into a humanoid shape, still the color of mud. After kneading chakra into it i start to form the facial features to match mine. The eyes lips nose ears all identical to myself. The clone continues to form, matching my height and size. Finally the close forms my clothes until me and the clone are identical.

This jutsu requires a string of handseals to perform, and once completed and after slamming you hand onto the ground it allows the user to create a giant fissure instantaneously under the opponent which opens up directly under the opponent. It is flexible with its range and can go up to long range keeping distance between you and your opponent. However, this jutsu requires one of the longer string of handseals and you need to slam your palm on the ground which can result in making yourself vulnerable to the opponents attacks. It can also change in size to allow the technique to be effective on larger opponents.

Performing the Ram → Horse → Tiger → Rabbit → Snake handseals, I slam my hands on the ground and channel doton chakra into the ground under my opponent. I force the ground to split apart creating a fissure about 5 meters in length that opens up. on either side of the fissure are large jagged spikes that give off the appearance of jaws of an animal. The fissure rises out of the ground and opens up like a mouth before coming together crushing whatever is in between

Good job.

(Doton: Tsuchi Kairō) - Earth Release: Earth Corridor
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the snake hand seal and then cause the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape

By forming one hand seal, you create a dome of earth to trap your target. You can give it an opening to attack from, or not, choice is yours. This works well with the Stone Spikes technique, allowing you to trap your opponent in a dome shaped iron maiden type device. Pretty useful all together.

(Doton: Arijigoku no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Antlion Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Mid/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user performs the Ram hand seal and causes causes the ground and everything on and around it to be sucked in towards the middle of a large pit, much like the method an antlion uses to catch prey. Upon being dragged to the centre, the victim will then be sucked underground. There the victim, depending on how deep the user makes them sink, will be trapped and/or suffocated. The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the technique.

This is my personal favorite B-Rank. You form one hand seal to create an antlion of earth around your target. It sucks in anything within its range to the center, where it is then trapped, suffocated, or crushed, depending on the specifics of the one you make.

Seems to be simple in idea, creating a dome around your opponent leaving an opening to attack, or entrapping them completely with the idea of attacking them as well. Either use of the technique is a good way to forcing your opponent into a enclosed area and taking advantage of it. Its completely supplemental to prevent the opponent from escaping.

I perform the snake handseal and channel my doton chakra into the ground. I then get the ground to rise up 5 meters in diameter around a center. Rather than have the dome have an opening i completely seal it up as the ground connects with itself above the center. With zero openings in the dome, I channel my doton chakra into the ground and cause multiple stone spikes to protrude from the ground impaling anything inside. *insert stone spikes here*

A cool technique that to me is similar to how a sink hole would work. It is even better because it can go up to long range of the opponent. The technique can kill the target by suffocating them underground or just trap them where you can further attack them. The user also cam change the size and how deep the antilion is. If used short range it can also trap you inside so using it mid to long range is required.

I perform a single ram handseal and channel my doton chakra into the ground around a specific area. The ground then begins to suck inwards on itself causing the ground to move towards the center of the area. With the ground constantly moving anything inside of the antlion area would lose its footing before being trapped in the canter with rocks and dirt burying them alive

Great work, we can bump it up to three techniques if you'd like, or keep it the way it is, I'll leave it up to you.

(Doton: Doryū Jōheki) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart
Rank: B
Type: Defence/Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: By performing the Tiger hand seal the user then makes a gigantic rampart rise up beneath the user's feet, by shaping the ground and increasing the amount of earth with chakra. Depending on what the user imagines, the shape of the rampart can be anything from level ground to a steep, needle-like mountain. If the user increases the volume of earth too much, he can be forced to keep his chakra consumption down. The user can combine this jutsu with Water Style: Waterfall Basin Technique to create a waterfall

Pretty straight forward technique, use your chakra to raise and create earth under your opponent to lift them into the air. The shape is up to your imagination, so have fun with that lol.

(Doton: Doryuheki) - Earth Release: Earth Style Wall Jutsu
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog and then creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defense. Chakra is either converted to earth within the body and then spat out to form the wall or the user can manipulate pre-existing earth to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. The barrier itself is also coated with chakra, making its strength incomparable to that of a normal mud wall. Because of the earth's special characteristics, the wall is highly resistant against, for instance, fire and water. Hizuren Sarutobi spits mud from his mouth to perform the jutsu whilst Kakashi creates a wall composed of bulldog sculptures to box-in Pain

Again, pretty straight forward. A very fast earth wall defense, real handy if you find yourself in a bind.

A situational technique that gives the user leeway to make what type of structure they would like to create. With the free range of creativity you can use it in many different situations. I would probably not use this tech even thought its is very open to creativity, but other than precarious situations there are other techs that the be used that offer the same use. But if im feeling in a a creative mood I might use this tech.

Performing the Tiger handseal I begin to channel my chakra underneath my opponent. I then increase the volume of earth to rise up, and with my chakra i shape it to funnel around my opponent tapping them inside as it rise up higher. A funnel of sorts with them at the bottom. I then can use another jutsu to full the hole to smother them or something, maybe even drown them with that waterfall jutsu.

This jutsu like you said is a good defensive jutsu to use when you need something solid. If your opponent doesn't have sensing they would not be able to see you while also blocking which every move they release. The user can create it from existing earth or can release it from their mouth which gives some more flexibility.

Performing the string of Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog i slam my hands onto the ground channeling my chakra into the ground. From the ground i raise up a wall of earth directly infront of me about half a foot thick and 2 meters tall. Its just a plain wall infused with my chakra to protect against attacks.

(Doton: Iwagakure no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Hiding in Rock Technique
Rank: B
Type: Defence/Supplementary
Range: Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This is a technique that allows its user to blend into rocks, move inside them and then move in and out of other rocks undetected. Despite this, Doujutsu and Sensors can still detect the opponent. The limitation of the technique is that it cannot be used to meld into other types of earth than rock or solid earth and its not a very fast technique, despite being faster than Underground Projection Fish technique.
Note: Can only blend through on C rank and below Earth Techniques

This one can be a good tool to have, but only if you use it correctly. Using it incorrectly can be fatal. It is not a fast technique, so after you begin melding into the earth, you're vulnerable to your opponent, given that their jutsu is faster than yours. Also, this does not protect you from incoming techniques, so never try to use it that way. Try to use it under smoke, mist, or something similar preferably.

(Doton: Doryūsō) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user first performs the Bird hand seal and the user condense mud or stone, from the ground, and shape them into spikes that will protrude from the ground in order to skewer the target. The spikes cannot penetrate targets of greater density

Basically an upgraded version of the C rank Stone Spike technique, so reference that one if you have questions. Feel free to ask me if that doesn't help

First one is a phasing technique allowing the user to move through the earth without taking physical damage. However this cannot be used to phase through incoming opponents techniques even if they are c rank and lower. Its not very fast and can only be used in solid structures. Its not THAT useful in a battle situation but can be used in certain situations like you said under a veil of mist or smoke to hide your movements.

Channeling doton chakra within myself I place my hand on a boulder and allow myself to phase in and out of it.

A stronger version of its C rank sister technique. Requires a handseal to condense mud or stone into spikes to rise up to skewer the opponent. Can't pierce objects of higher density which seems logical. A stronger tech requiring handseals and is able to for from mud and stone.

Performing the bird handseal, I condense the earth under my opponent and cause 4 spikes to form. All the spikes are about 4 meters long and they would skewer the opponent all over the body without making contact with one another.
