You're basically admitting that:
A) You lack the sense to look at the Gender icon.
B) You do not know which Gender icon belongs to Males/Females.
C) Both.
...
lol, wrong on all accounts. it's actually because i see so many Gender icons being male and have avatar's that are female that i said anything. so i'm just saying, what's up with that? people do what they want... so call me old school if you want, but i just wouldn't use a girl for my avatar.
Im not going to lie to you, its confused me on more than once. You've just got to get used to it.
Just drop this subject and let your thread die. It really makes no sense to continue this.
what u say is true. People can use what they want, and that's fine. but do i have to be the bad guy for having the opinion that it'd be easier/better for people not to misrepresent themselves? i mean, when it comes down to it, that's really my biggest point--that that's how i feel.
see what?gets outta hand sometimes lol, makes me feel awkward wen people are around n they see dat
i personaly i dont care if guys use female avatars or girls male avatars.its their choice...misleading?nah...sometimes the actual user name tells the gender, and if i have doubts i see the gender icon...

Lol, so you've been hit on in a way you didn't want?but i will agree newbs who dunno what the gender sign is, sometimes start getting flirty and it's lik![]()
How do you know they are misrepresenting themselves?? Because they are male and have female Avatars? Acting like females?? What if that is their true personality? What if they are gay? bisexual? or transsexual? Is that still a misrepresentation? I'm just saying, you have to let people be, because you don't know their circumstance or lifestyle.
LOL bro, sometimes people swap out between gender icons, or they may have no gender icon at all. or they could just lie about the gender, i don't trust gender icons at all, but i can usually tell if it is a male or female by the way they post, or if i talk to them via vm/pm.
but on topic: i feel an avatar is a way to express one's self and who they are.. that is my opinion that i am sticking with
well, to some, it really may be pointless. it's just, sometimes i go online, see an avatar of a HOT ASS chick, and it turns out to be a dude! i'm talking first impressions, you know?
thanks man, i also feel like an avatar should--at least for the most part--represent who you are. and you're right, not everyone even bothers to use a gender icon!
(sorry for the double post, i don't know how to edit a previous post to include a new quote...)
Those are tricky over the net bro.
It's like finding a popsicle in Sahara; you can't see the contents because of the wrapping, but the picture on the outside looks like it needs a lick(don't be perverted now, this is only a metaphor... wait.. Isn't it me who's a pervert for thinking of it in the first place?.. Just forget it.), but then you open it and it's all melted and there are some ants in there because the wrapper had a slight hole at its side.
First impressions are confusing like that, but the difference between NB and Sahara is that, you'll eat the popsicle AND the ants, only to have diarrhoea and die of dehydration afterwards.
NB is a forum and a little confusion won't lead to anyone's death, so it's no big deal if they have a woman, and reversibly, a male as their avatar, no?

I'm sorry brothers, but u gotta stop it. i understand having a love for the chicks, but to represent yourself with an anime (or other) chick? besides confusing, it's just... i don't really know what to say. Use a dude for your avatar, and put the chicks in your sig or something... i don't mean to be rude or anything, but damn... it's weird.
