It may have no disrupted his chakra flow directly. However, an indirect disruption had been made, along with the other qualifications being met: didn't cause physical harm, saw false images, is Yin Release based etc.

Also what do you mean he still had air in his hand?
lmao, I meant he still had the Raikiri in his hand.

Nagato/Pain's chakra was flowing into Kakashi, via the chakra rods, so that's what made Kakashi lose his focus. I like your thread, and agree with a lot of it, but I'm not so sure I can call this a form of genjutsu. IDK

Step 1 it's physical harm.

Beautiful thread. Ain't nobody got time to read all dat.
;) Thanks anyhow. You better read it!
I don't really think that 'face' is part of a Genjutsu or illusion. Just a way of indicating that the foe is having their chakra system made irregular by the real Nagato, since his chakra is being sent to those rods [ ].
True. But isn't that what Genjutsu does? It distorts the users senses? The chakra rods in which are transmitting Nagato's chakra into his opponents chakra network is no doubt causing them problems with their senses: Kakashi had trouble pinpointing Nagato's Deva Path. I actually refute my previous point saying Kakashi was being controlled because look:

The Deva Path moved his head a inches away from Kakashi's Raikiri. If Nagato could control Kakashi with his chakra wouldn't he have just pushed Kakashi so many yards away?

love how i said it could do genjutsu yet people basically called me an idiot though thanks for not making me feel stupid proof
I said I had your back bro remember. :D

Or. Nagato uses those chakra recievers to control bodies with his own chakra, creating the sixth paths.
Now these are dead bodies, so it is much easier to manipulate.

In saying that. Kakashi is alive. So, he would be much harder to manipulate.
When he got stabbed by the chakra receivers, all Pain did, was slow him down a bit by controlling Kakashi's arm with his own chakra.
Enabling him to dodge the Raikiri.

The method is the main difference (physical contact required) but I think it falls within the category.

Good thread.

Thanks brother. :D

We'll call it a Pseudo Genjutsu how about that?

Step 1 it's physical harm.
Aka Penetration..

Give me some evidence to back up your claim.

I never really saw anyone claiming that rinnegan doesn't have genjutsu.
Anyway on topic,I have to agree with the obvious even though I think rinnegan's genjutsu is not high level.
It was used on Jirayia too (too bored for scan) and both Kakashi and Jman realized from the first second that something was wrong. It also reminded the illusionary tech Kakashi used with Zabuza to make him believe he got on his head (too bored for scan again).

Thank you for your effort but it's false.

It doesnt work like genjutsu at at all.

Kakashi simply was controlled via chakra receiver. Unlike dead bodies devoid of chakra, kakashi had some. Therefore it caused more challenge for pein to overpower chakra flow of kakashi and make him miss his target.
The rinnegan eyes only signal presence of foreign mind/chakra in one's body.

It has nothing to do with true genjutsu.

Very true. But the effect itself doesn't cause harm does it not? I mean the step in order to activate the Pseudo Genjutsu requires physical contact correct. So I'd say it'd go somewhere in the Taijutus/Genjutsu (Hybrid lol?) category.

Thanks bud.

Excellent thread, and excellent pictures ;)
The pictures are outstanding.

Great theory I agree with everything you said and it only makes sense that the Rinnegan can use genjutsu considering it's the ultimate dojutsu.

Most likely, although the symptoms nonetheless were similar to a regular Genjutsu were they not? This may very well be a Pseudo Genjutsu (in this scenario anyhow).

I've seen multiple people claim that the Rinnegan didn't possess some form of Genjutsu. If you can find those scans I'd Plus rep you no doubt, along with it being a great contribution to this thread.

The Rinnegan is no doubt Ninjutsu based. Sharingan Genjutsu based, and Byakugan Taijutsu based. However, this little bit of Genjutsu the Rinnegan possesses does not tie into the Sharingan's prowess.

Yin/Yang release:

I see it more as it distorted his vision; accuracy. Along with yes it did move his movements somewhat most likely.

Thanks.

Thanks bud.

Thanks.

The fact that he uses the same chakra rods as he uses within his own path's bodies to distort the enemy chakra and control their movements, i conclude that it clearly does not distort the senses, as that would have no effect pertaining to movement in dead bodies.
