There's good news today
But will it be over-shadowed by tomorrow?
And what of yesterday?
Some things just never let go...

Money will never solve it all
But maybe it'll solve a few
And maybe I'll give the past a good call
I'll tell it to go find someone else to screw

But these dreams of the past never truly fade
Especially not with part of the dream living
Not that I'm complaining about the child who stayed
Even from a far, he's a gift that keeps giving

His smile in every picture brings me joy
Even if his mother's face brings me sorrow
Let him enjoy every new wonder and toy
While his mother finds a new "toy" tomorrow

Maybe it's best this way
I'll give happiness another try
If I can only get dreams of her to go away today
Because the fruit on that tree has soured inevitably..

If I could say one more thing to her it'd be this:
Take your bitterness elsewhere
Be good to our son with every loving kiss
And stop pretending to care, and do it for real on my dare...

After all it's not like you ever had anything to lose
Only what you never cared about before
Stop giving everyone else the blues..
