I watched the first 10 episodes of naruto and what did I saw ??
Bloody fight , zabuza death and lots of blood and drama .

I watched 52 episodes of one piece and it was full of crap and I decided to give on watching it since I am old enough to stop watching cartoon .

DBZ lacked a lot, but it was still too captivating and innovative. Instant classic.

DBZ anime is better than the anime mention here so far.

DBZ has too many episodes of excitement and things you want to see.

The story could have/ should have been a lot more of a *thinking* plot, but it did its thing

as the best action anime ever.

Naruto was aiming at that spot, but fell short too soon. Animation became crappy.

DBZ movies as well were just action packed and could have had more plot... but action anime was the best.

of all time. so far.. it took the world by storm pretty much..

DUBBED DBZ is the greatest ACTION ANIME of ALL TIME.

No, no it wasn't. Vegeta and Nappa's arc or the Namek arc was the best part of DBZ. Goku awakening SS after so many generations was awesome.

But like someone else said DBZ took way too long to move through episodes, DBZ Kai now that's another story, but DBZ, let me power up for 7 minutes of screen time ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm not gonna lie, it took me 97 episodes of OP to get behind it, I watched the first 30 like "ok why is everyone so hyped about this show?" then the further it got I understood, Luffy is the BEST main character. He's a lot like Goku in personality(while Naruto just looks like Goku; orange and blue, blonde hair) The animation style may be a little weak for some(I feel it can be weak at points, like Franky, but i digress)

I think it's kind of funny you called OP childish when compared with Bleach or Naruto it has way more adult themes than either. Naruto and Bleach feel like they're aimed at young teens while OP feels like it's aimed at late teens-20's readers(I know both are Shounen so aimed at the same group but OP just feels more grown up to me)

Hmmm there's so much good anime to choose from... I can't decide! But when I was new to anime, the Dragon Ball/Z series was my favourite. It's still an awesome anime I don't know if it's still #1...

I used to like naruto more than dbz but naruto storyline totally ruined especially in war arc .
One piece is for children !! I saw first 50 episodes and it's so childish .
Attack of titan is still new so don't count it here while bleach is totally lame.

Dragonball z is best anime so far U_U

Woah. Ignorant much? o_O

I would say at the time they both interested me the most naruto wins but, DBZ not Gt wins overall just due to scale and that was my life when i was a kid. I remember watching dragonball when i was really little.

Your take on DBZ is entirely subjective just as mine. Therefore popularity is one thing we can look at because if it appeals to so many people then obviously it has substance to it. And as for suspense, that's *my* take on things. I found goku's survival in namek interesting, akira was actually going to end the manga there but was persuaded the fans to carry on. The cell arc was also interesting. Did you anticipate Vegeta turning good? Picollo's sacrifice? Vageta's atonement? Cell surviving after goku's sacrifice? Well I sure didn't and perhaps so did many who read the manga at the time. As for action, dbz totally rocked in that field more so than anything I have come across. Power ups were totally justified in diagonally manga. Goku trained tediously hard and often was over powered in many battles. He didn't always win, he lost to tien in DB, cell in DBZ etc.

DBZ had suspense? What kind of suspense? Good always win, heroes always got revive - how is that suspenseful?

I respect a lot DBZ. Always have. For me, Dragon ball made the connection towards the West and gave real influence to the whole manga generation. Most mangas that were released in the last Decade got popular thanks to the influence brought previously by Dragon Ball. Without it, perhaps, mangas will only have been popular in Japan. Few forums site. Few online hosting of mangas. Few anime streaming. It will have been a Japan craze only. Not a worldwide one. Dragon ball is the one who changed that and still have a longevity enough to inspire some more people and quite some mangakas. For that influence, I respect DBZ and I like it for all the memories. It's highly nostalgic.

But an anime cannot be judged as per its influence or popularity or brainless powerups + action only. There are so many critical levels where there are lots of animes that surpass DBZ in terms of pure quality.

It's actually true that DBZ is the greatest action cartoon of all time. Google it if you don't believe me but in my opinion DBZ is the greatest Anime/Manga of all time.

Actually DBZ is the only Legendary Anime/Manga That alone makes the franchise blitz every other Anime/Manga

At the Bold: that isn't suspense that is surprise. Suspense is when an author implies something big will happen and then leaves you waiting for it, like when Kishimoto had Sasuke say let's go find the ones who know everything then went to tell naruto's story. That is suspense because the reader is waiting and running scenarios through their head until the author gives the reveal. When Goku died the first time it was suspenseful because the show was new and fans were unsure if he'd be revived but after the 3rd good guy got revived most fans saw major good guy characters weren't going to stay dead. Thus battles became less suspenseful as time went on.

DBZ isn't even the best shounen. And no, DBZ is not the only legendary. You must not watch alot of anime or manga then.

Do you know that DB is the flagship of Shounen Manga? It's the best and it's the only Anime/Manga to achieve Legendary status. I do in fact watch and read a lot of Anime/Manga

You must know very little of DB and the impact the franchise had on the Anime world.

DBZ too long one the scenes
Bleach was done in by fillers
Naruto has a similar disease
Samurai Champloo as you will

Claymore was dope, Deadman Wonderland(but the shit got cancelled), Mirrai Nikki.... shit... the more I think of it, the more series actually are a lot better than the main ones.

Didn't watch OP... indeed, did look a bit childish... manga is awesome, though!

deadman wonderland was an amazing anime

No it was not the flag ship of shounen manga, Alll shounen are not battle shounen and tournament shounen stop that nonsense.

There is not manga/anime legendary status, stop that.

ITs a classic, some people look at it to see what it did right and use those elements just like in any form of entertainment. That does not mean its the best ever and that does not mean i didnt have lots of flaws. It was a generic shounen that many happened to grow up with, dont let your nostalgia goggles blind you.

"sigh" i'm seriously bored in dealing with clueless imbeciles

It states here that DB is the Flagship of Shounen Manga

You know absolutely nothing about DB as it's the only Anime/Manga to achieve Legendary status so deal with it!
The Legendary franchise is in a league of it's own kid.

Naruto and other Anime/Manga wouldn't even of existed if it wasn't for DB, and every single Anime has flaws but DB is the greatest Anime/Manga of all time.
