Overrated is just another way of saying you don't understand why something is as liked or popular ect, as it is.
Disregarding your inability to see why something as obviously influential and revolutionary as dragon ball wa on the anime and manga genre more so than any other anime manga to this day.

It Definitely deserves the praise it gets for basically creating shonen manga style every shonen is still using it as a template today. Not because there are no other options but because it worked so well. It's like the most respected manga in its home country and it ain't because its overrated or shit.
