As long as you are short range from the ground, I think you'll be fine to use it. However, just to be certain... keep contact with the ground unless you are Oonoki or Mu.

( Doton: Jōshō Iwa ) - Earth Release: Rising Rocks
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user claps their hands together and then unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on either side of the enemy to send the opponent flying backwards.

Oonoki strikes again!
This time you'll clap your hands together, focusing your chakra into the earth to cause two chunks of earth to rapidly shoot out, crash into your opponent and send them flying away.

( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and stomps the ground. By doing so, he causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which will then force fragments of earth and rock to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and can raise them up into the air.

Channel your earth chakra and stomp on the ground to release it. This will create fractures in the ground that rapidly spread through the area up to mid-range to force (under your control via chakra) sections of rock to jag up and slam into your target or lift them suddenly up into he air (not airborne, just like lifting a flat section of earth up a distance).

Channeling my chakra into the ground I clap my hands. Using said chakra I let two chunks of earth shoot at my enemy, standing mid range from me, with high speed. One rock is aimed at my enemy's right shoulder the other one at his left upper leg. Due to the massive impact the target gets knocked back to long range with a broken shoulder and a broken thigh bone, unable to continue combat.

Not the worst Jutsu I could think of. It's quickly carried out, I can bring some distance between the target and myself and with proper explanation cause fractures etc. Only downside really is that it's only a frontal attack that doesn't diminish the vision the enemy has much.

Gathering my doton based chakra I stomp the ground. By doing so I release it into the ground and cause rapidly spreading fractures that rip through the earth. From those fractures formations of rock rise. Several of those would crush into my target while I simultaneously lift up the ground I'm standing on. The plateau, with a length and a width of 3 meters, rises 10 meters up and gives me good vision over the whole battlefield and clear vision of the target even while the rock formations crush into it.

Pretty versatile Jutsu. I can attack and change the battlefield at the same time, which can provide a huge advantage. Also I could attack from any side I wish and it again is executed quickly while this time I'd even have my hands free.

Indeed, having your hands free while performing a jutsu in invaluable. You could prepare explosing tags, throw kunai or any number of ninja tools. Just remember that while you are still performing any jutsu, that is right through to it's completion (The rocks have completely risen etc) you cannot start charging chakra for another jutsu, else your initial jutsu will stop short.

Now onto the next rank.

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

Using the two seals, followed by placing your hand on the ground, you'll focus your earth chakra into a single point, near or under your opponent, where you'll create a sort of suction in the earth to cause the ground to spin inwards, drawing in whatever is on the surface to one central point where it will be forced underground and crushed. This can do some serious damage to a limb if it is caught in the jutsu. In a sandy environment however, this jutsu won't be as damaging though it will still bring your opponent underground. Having said that, a terrain of solid rock or sharp rocks, will cause crushing injuries to your opponent.

( Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user of this technique condenses the soil and rock in the area to sprout out in the form of four large spikes which attack the target from four separate directions to make it harder to evade. However, it can be easilty avoided by escaping upwards.

Focus your chakra into four points in the ground, surrounding your enemy, a box formation works best for this. Then, compress four sections of earth in such a way that they shoot out in the form of a spike towards your target, all at the same time of course. Being that four spikes shoot out from four different directions, your opponent has limit chances to evade this jutsu else be stabbed by four spears of rock.

Gathering a fair amount of doton based chakra I perform a row of two handseals, Boar -> Ox and lay my hand on the ground. I channel said chakra into the earth and manipulate an area underneath my enemy. It would spiral inwards on itself and pull the target deep inside. Considering we stand on neither in a very sand nor a very rocky area this would deal some serious injuries to the target (most likely fractures and inner bleedings) in combination with the fading oxygen and the high weight the target would lose consciousness within seconds and die due to suffocation within minutes.

Pretty cool Jutsu imho. You can't just overpower it with a stronger Jutsu that would continue onto me which gives me a wide range of techniques I could follow up with. Also I could use it to bind my target/throw it off balance while I already attack with a frontal attack.

Channeling doton based chakra in the ground I'm standing on I create 4 spikes of rock that appear in a box-like-formation surrounding the target, located mid-range from me, piercing it at the same time from all directions. Killing my foe in the process.

Sounds like fun. You're left with little possibilities but escape by going airborn or underground/shielding yourself or destorying the spikes with something like "Raiton: Chidori Nagashi". In any of these cases I should have quite some time and a lot of possible moves to follow up.

(Doton: Iwa Bunshin) - Earth Release: Rock Clone Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates their clone out of stone that he spits from his mouth. Unlike other types of clones the rock clones don’t disappear after being defeated but rather crumble like rubble. These clones can also be used to create a clone of other people than themselves but do not take on the abilities of the copied person. They can use up to C-Rank Earth techniques and are very resistant to physical damage such as that from Taijutsu which they can endure up to B-Rank.

So, you've seen Shadow clones and lightning clones... I presume. This is basically the same principle, except you spit the rock used to form this clone from your mouth, before forming it into the image of your choice; be it yourself, alley or opponent. Another difference, instead of dispersing, it crumbles into rubble once defeated and actually has a solid form, capable of enduring some hits... up to B-rank taijutsu to be specific, while also being able to use up to C-rank earth jutsu.

What do you think would happen, if your opponent mistook you for this clone and went to punch it/throw kunai/stab it etc...

Channeling my doton based chakra into my mouth I spit out a fair portion of rock and earth. I manipulate said chakra and shape it into a clone of myself. The clone, basically having a solid form, would show a high resistance to physical attacks.

I got one question, does the maximum of 4 clones (no matter which sort), 3 times per battle rule still exist?

Now I assume that if you were to actually stab this clone with a Kunai or attack with Taijutsu stronger than B-Rank he'd crumble at the place it got pierced but, aside of that location, would remain solid in it's form, simply losing the clones appearance and turning to stone. This would of course mean that the person that attacked it is now bound a little as he'd need to break free from the remaining stones, which would create a possible opening.

Indeed, the rule still exists:

➔ Clones of any kind may only be used three times in battle and there will be a maximum of 4 clones created at a time.
A simple kunai stab won't destroy the clone, as you need greater than B-rank Taijutsu to destroy the clone. Essentially it would hurt if you free-form punch this clone, that was what I was getting at xD
I do like your last comment about being stuck in the stones.

Two similar techniques, two different mechanisms/ability.

(Doton: Iwa no Hogo) - Earth Release: Earth Shelter Technique
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user surrounds themselves with earth, taken from the immediate vicinity, in order to fabricate a formation of rock that is capable of protecting both the user and others in close proximity, if desired. Doing so, seemingly leaves the surrounding terrain unaltered, even when the quantity of earth used is enough to form a complete dome around multiple individuals as seen when Ittan used this technique. The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi.

This will create a protective dome around you or even just a partial roof if you want, without causing and disruption to the ground around you. It is capable of protecting multiple people, so long as they are within short range radius of you.

(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique
Rank: B
Type: Defensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description:The user slams his hands on the ground and creates a 1/4 dome of earth, which protects them from frontal external attacks. The domes shape is in a similar fashion to wood release: wood locking walls.

Slam hand on the ground and cause several interlocking pillars of earth to shoot up, forming a quarter dome.
