That is one perfect way of defence yes, nice idea. xD You could also try using Swamp of the Underworld (Something we'll cover in the A-ranks) or basically any A-rank Earth technique to force his chakra out of the ground and effectively kill him. xD

(Doton: Doryūkatsu) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Divide

Description: The user will first perform the required hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and slamming the hands on the ground, the user can, by flowing concentrated chakra into the Dragon Veins flowing underground, tear the earth apart, creating large chasms by raising the earth in two oposite sides in the desired location and then splitting that piece of earth through the center. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are all up to the user. Manipulating the Dragon Veins requires fine chakra control, but if one has such skill, they can use this technique to divide the space between the enemy and their own team in two, destroy enemy camps or defences, and even to attack.
Note: This does not split the earth appart directly to cause opponents to fall in the fissure.

Now, people have been confused at this technique so if you have any questions ask away. By performing the Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake hand signs whilst kneading your Doton chakra, channelling it into the ground beneath you by slamming your palms on the ground, you can essentially tear the Earth apart, creating a minuscule fissure (even too small for your opponent to fall in) And change the structure of the Earth, by raising it in two opposite sides in diagonal directions, to create a chasm in between them. The factors that contribute to the overall quality of the chasm (length, size, width etc.) is all up to your imagination, and the technique itself doesn't really hold much value in Battles as well, at best all it can do is like space up the distance between you and your opponents. xD

The idea behind the dragon veins goes back to being a concept of Feng Shui. Which is a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing the human existence with the surrounding environment, who say that these dragon veins are energy flows running underground

Perform The Technique While performing the Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake ,I concentrate my doton chakra into my left hand slamming it on the ground, as my hand comes in contact with the ground, I simply release my chakra into the ground making the ground split a few meters away from us .
How would you use in battleI will use this jutsu when its a kinda 2 vs 2 ,To separate both side so its 1 vs 1, 1 vs 1.

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.

Another useful technique, by performing the snake hand sign whilst kneading doton chakra into your more dominant arm, you then slam either palm of your desire onto the ground whilstreleasing the Earth chakra into the ground, the force exerted and chakra used effectively disrupts the structure of the Earth, breaking the ground apart and causing chunks of rubble to pop out of the ground.

The main use of this technique would be to create some sort of distraction, either for a follow up attack or means of escape. However, it could also be used to target and defend from your enemies Earth attacks (ones which use the ground as a medium) of C ranks and below.

Perform The TechniqueI start by concentrating my doton chakra into my hand while performing the snake handseal, I then slam my hand on the ground releasing the continuous stream of chakra which flows to the ground under the opponent, using my imagination, i make several pebbles pop out the ground harming them
How would you use in battleReleasing my chakra into the ground beneath my opponent making it shake so as moving and performing handseals impossible
I then continue by making several pebbles eject from under them killing them
How would you defend against.I should use Raiton: raging thunder but havent learnt lightning

Now now, the technique isn't that severe you know. xD The best it will do is just about make your opponent stagger on the spot, but it won't strip them of the control they have over their own bodies, and they certainly will still be able to perform hand signs. Though, I can still see how you will go around using it and that's correct, remember it is either a distraction technique so you can escape from someone, or like a small set up for an incoming much more powerful attack. Anyways let's continue.

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique.

This is a favourite of mine, after performing these 2 hand signs *shows* you can then encase your more dominant arm in rocks. This can either be done by: Exhaling out Earthen particles which gather up at your arm and form into rocks; Or by channelling your Doton chakra towards said arm, and using it to form rocks on your arm. Either way you use, this technique is excellent for close quarter combats, as the hardness of the Earth adds extra strength to an average punch, not only that but it also acts as a layer of protection against your opponent. Though of course normal elemental weaknesses do apply, and you should be aware of lightning based moves as they can easily pierce through the Earth and accompany damage to your arm if you move in recklessly.

Perform The Technique: I concentrate my Doton chakra in my arm while swiftly performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation ,as the required amount of chakra gets to my hand, I start releasing it and immediately ,I start manipulating it into a rock which is around my arm
How would you use in battle: I will place my opponent inside a genjutsu where everywhere is dark, quickly reacting, I concentrate my chakra into my legs running at the opponent with stealth[Silent Homicide]
As am armsreach away from the opponent, I quickly form a rock around my left arm slamming into the opponent
How would you defend against:Katon: Phoenix Sage all at the opponent which destroys both them and the jutsu, this is a counter-attack

(Doton: Ton'neru chika no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Tunneling Technique

Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat → Bird is able to create a wide tunnel in the ground, this cannot travel through rock though or anything with a high density. The large tunnel that is created allows the user to transport others without detection.
Note: The initial entry of the technique is short range.

For this, begin by performing the Ram → Dog → Rat → Bird hand signs, and channel your Earth chakra into the ground. By forcefully disrupting the structure of the Earth beneath, you're able to form a simple tunnel, with an opening at one end and an exit at another end.

Now, the tunnel may be used for transportation by yourself and any comrade, though I wouldn't really use this in battles a lot. Trouble is because: 1, it can only be used on normal ground, and not on anything altered on the surface of the Earth which has a high density; 2, it is at a disadvantage compared to its other contenders like Hiding like a mole, which provides a quicker and more affordable transportation.

On that note however this does allow you to transport more than one person at a time due to the wideness of the technique, so that's a given advantage.

How would you use in battle I believe this is only useful in the NW
How would you defend against: Katon: Fire Crater, will just spit a fireball into the tunnel killing any life in it

We will skip the next jutsu as it is a combination that comes up with a later jutsu, so we'll come back to it then.

For now, this next technique is one similar to that of ''(Doton: Ganban Kyu) - Earth Release: Bedrock Coffin'' Begin by performing the Snake hand sign whilst channelling your Doton chakra into the ground, by disrupting the structure of the Earth, forcefully cause 2 Earth walls to erupt out of the ground next to your opponent. The walls face each other, with a small gap in between them which is where your opponent is stuck, the walls are roughly 2 times longer than the height of your opponent, and will embed enough pressure to keep him stuck at his place, hindering him from any movements above the surface of the ground, with more chakra added to it you can also make the Earthen walls move in on each other, with the pressure being able to break the bones of your opponent easily.

One weakness is that it only covers the surface of the ground, and depending on the way you use this technique, could also conceal the vision of your opponent, allowing him to use underground transportation for a way to deal with this technique.

Perform Performing a few handseals I start by concentrating a large amount of chakra which should be sufficient for the jutsu into his legs, I calm myself turning his chakra into doton chakra and I release it into the ground, as the clone was moving, immediately i manipulate the earth erecting two pillars which crush anything caught inbetween
Use in battle On creating the two pillar, I stomp the ground creating a tunnel which leads directly under the opponent creating no means of escaping

Defence I will simply jump up and spit 3 fireballs at the opponent

(Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra releasing it into the ground and with a wave of their arm or through the application of a weapon can cause a small wall of dust particles and sand to rise up from the ground and thrusting forwards. This technique creates a simple dust screen that will fade away after 3 turns.

Moving on, what I want you to do now is channel your Doton chakra throughout your body and outwards, onto the surface of the Earth you're standing on. In doing this your chakra to infuse with tiny dust particles on the ground or small grains of sand, and remain adamant there until you wave your arm looking cool and all as you do so, the infused particles from the ground will all gather up together and blast outwards towards your opponent. On their own the particles themselves don't carry any actual power and won't cause physical damage onto the opponent; however they will form a dust screen that will envelop the battlefield for three turns, minimizing the view of you that your opponent has. The dust screen has the capability of extending up to mid range as well which is quite useful.

Battle Use After using this technique, I will concentrate suiton chakra in my left hand and fling it at the the opponent's last position binding them after which I form an earth spear in my hand which i use to stab the opponent

Description: The user manipulates their chakra and creates a huge rock from the ground that will rise up, hammering the opponent by slamming it down from above them.

This one is quite simple and nice, it doesn't require any hand signs so that's good. Begin by channeling your Doton chakra into the ground beneath you, and by manipulating the structure of the Earth, force a single rock to erupt out of the ground, the rock itself is of quite an enormous size. Since this rock is now infused with all of your chakra you'll be able to further manipulate it, and since the rock's shape encompasses an asymmetrical, large form, by causing the bottom of the rock to move sideways, the top of the rock will fall down, acting like a hammer and crushing your opponent into the ground.

Whilst yes it does have quite a good effect, the range for the technique is only short so it'll only work in CQC situations, hence this disadvantage limits the technique.

As the chunk of earth wants to hit the opponent, I cause a pillar of earth to erect from under them pushing them towards the incoming rock smashing them inbetween

As the chunk of earth is coming outta the ground, I stomp the ground making a fire pillar erupt from under it destroying the rock before it could make its way up

( Doton: Iwa Dangan ) - Earth Release: Rock Bullet

Description: The user manipulating their chakra will point their palm or fist at the opponent, creating a large rock on it which he then sends at the opponent. Alternatively, the user can "spit" the rock. In this case he will spit a large globule of mud which hardens mid way towards the opponent into a large rock.

This next technique is your average boulder-manipulating Earth projectile. Concentrate on your Earth chakra, whilst pointing your index finger from your more dominant hand forwards towards your opponent, channelling the chakra towards the tip of said index finger. Once the chakra has accumulated at the specific point, use shape manipulation to form it into that of a semi-large boulder that will be blasted off towards your opponent, and upon impact has the capability of crushing with quite ease.

Other than with the use of an index finger you can also channel chakra towards your gullet and infuse it with your saliva, forming a mud-like substance that can be expelled from your mouth. As the globule of mud is expelled from your mouth it will harden on its path towards your opponent, though the resultant effect being the same for both methods, you choose which one you like more.

Combo I start by releasing my chakra into the air placing the opponent under a genjutsu where everywhere seems dark

How to use the template and fill it out effectively. This will also help your career in RP but it is quite a read though I do expect you to read it and carefully at that. I will notice if you have or not, and failure to write out the template correctly will result in a re-do of the jutsu(s).

Performance
When it comes to the performing point of the template, its all about imagination but this one is considered the most obvious of the whole template. When the student performs something you need to paint a picture in the teachers head to give them a clear image of everything that is going on and how you are reacting or feeling about the jutsu. Each jutsu will give different feelings and reaction. It is your job simply to show me how and what you are feeling and what is going on when performing the jutsus.

The things I expect in the performance are two things that are most important when performing the jutsus. The first is called Nature Manipulation. Nature manipulation is when the user will manipulate or control their raw chakra to change in basic nature which is one of the five basic elements. Now most people like to simply say something like this:
I gather my chakra and nature manipulate it into lightning chakra.
Yes this is okay but where is the creativity or the respect of actually wanting to perform and feel the jutsu? Now to explain every basic element properly on how to manipulate chakra into nature with more imagination and creativity such examples like this would work.
With my raw chakra gathered I begin to take focus upon the chakra. I begin to think of the warmth of the very sun and the blazing heat it gives off, I condense the chakra and finally mold the chakras nature into fire.

After gathering my chakra, I begin to take full control over it. I sharpen the chakra having the precious sharpness that surpasses that of a sword. Successfully I mold the chakra into wind chakra.
Now this is pretty much the basis when it comes to nature manipulation on how I see fit and what is best to impress your teacher. Now if you are wondering about how should I explain all the natures, well think about their property. Lightning has high frequent vibration and electrical sharpness, fire is superheated and blazing warm, water is free-flowing and very flexible, earth is rough and versatile, wind is sharp and thin with great accuracy. To be able to explain them you simply have to free your mind and become as creative as you can.

Now I can understand some times you don't want to go that deep into the jutsu because some are more simple then others and I can understand that, all I ask is to try and not be lazy with it.

The second thing that is most important when performing a jutsu correctly is called Shape manipulation. Now this is when you take the chakra or the chakra nature and shape it into any form or shape it requires to be properly formed. Shapes include spheres, animals (All types), blades, ect. This is all about attention to detail, and how precious you want to be when trying to perform the jutsu. Now here is a regular example that is done usually.
I manipulate the shape of my chakra to form a bullet.
Though again, that is not exactly wrong but where is the fun and creativity in that? This is all about paying attention to detail and how much you want to focus up on it. Here are some other examples that are more suffice.
After gathering my lightning chakra, I lengthen its size and sharpen the edge of the chakra to create a spear of lightning.

As I gather my chakra and release it forward, I begin to shape it and make it round as well as smooth leaving no bumps to create a spherical ball of chakra.
This is pretty much all it takes nothing more or less. You do not need to go extreme but detail is always best not only for me as a teacher but when you get in the habit of making proper and creative replies it will follow you in battle and help you greatly their when the time comes.

Creative uses/strengths

Now we are getting to the important part of all this. Now with this template I expect two things each with a total amount of detail. What I mean is firstly I expect you to tell me the strengths of a certain jutsu, I don't care how it works. I want to know what makes it useful. Things like that can include the jutsu is able to move in all ranges giving it a large amount of mobility. Another is you can send multiple attacks with one jutsu to attack more then one opponent or trying to barrage the opponent with attacks to make evasion difficult. Yes this are quite the small strengths but stuff like this count in the eyes of a teacher and needs to be taken in account. Though those are just some small examples what you really need to do is look into the jutsu itself. Try adding all or as much strengths with what you see in the jutsu. Also I understand some jutsus are more simple then others and might not have as much advantages but that is okay, its all about trying and thinking about it. But I do expect 1-3 strengths mentioned.

Lastly to perfect the strength portion, this is simple but something so many students fail to do. When you give a strength explain why that is considered a strength. Yes explain why. This is the most important part because it shows us how you plan on using it in battle and the teacher will be able to pick out what you have done wrong specifically. So simply saying it goes long range does not make it a hardcore advantage because if you think about it, that can also be considered a disadvantage. So by saying that it is very wrong and can confuse the teacher, all we really do is assume and guess what you are trying to say. So trying to perfect it, you would need to say something like this.This is the correct and proper way in doing the strength portion of the template.
The jutsu goes in long range, because of this the opponent will not be able to evade that easily by just pushing back and it can correspond with other jutsus.
Now the second portion of the template is creative usages. What is this is simply a combo or something you would do with the jutsu. This helps the teachers notice your style and what you are likely to accomplish in fighting so if you are doing anything wrong we can inject it and fix it so you do not make a mistake in battle. This is all about just being creative, every jutsu has a unique usage and can be used creatively or at the very least used in correspondence with other jutsus to create a combo to attack the opponent or turn the table on them.

Simple combos are of all kind, and most teachers will explain the jutsus usually giving a combo or a usage you can use, but it is the very basic of it. It is simply meant to show you how it is meant to be used or just to give you an idea. All because the teacher says it does not mean we want you to repeat what we said. You need to come up with another detail or combo. Simple combos could be like sending a fire jutsu towards the opponent and then use a jutsu to shake the ground to put the opponent off balance so it will be hard to react with the attack, and a more powerful combo could be when sending a fire jutsu direct it towards the ground and then send a single blade of wind behind the fire, which you can then activate the blade to turn into a hurricane to create a powerful fire vortex. Though with newer RPers they tend to sometimes use basic combos because they have seen less of the jutsu list or understand it less then others, but when you move on and learn more jutsu creating combos become much more easier and you begin to take action effectively.

Drawbacks/counters

Now this is the complete opposite of the strengths and creative usages. This is as equal as the strengths and creative usages for it allows the teacher to see exactly how is your understanding of the jutsu. Usually when people look at jutsus they tend to leave this with very little detail and failure to explain it properly. This is because many people believe disadvantages are to obvious to try and explain on why its a disadvantage which is the wrong mentality when doing this point. There are things with drawbacks and counter that need to be taken in account. What I usually expect from the student here is at least 1-3 drawbacks and at least one counter for the jutsu you would do.

Drawbacks when looking into it is not explained from the student, it is usually because of the double standards people give to jutsus. As I explained in the above long range attacks would be great attacks but their are disadvantages to them, one being is if the opponent is long range it will take much more time for the attack to reach the opponent so they will be able to counter the attack with ease. The thing is when it comes to advantages their will always be a disadvantage to that very thing. If something is great to use in short range battle it is useless in long range, if the jutsu is a projectile technique it can be used with combos but the jutsu will usually be straightforward and easy to anticipate. This is something always to consider when writing disadvantages that they're will always be one as long as you have listed advantages or mention them. So if you have two advantages mentioned then their is a huge likely hood that their will be two disadvantages with that, so their should not be much of a ratio difference between the two.

Listing proper drawbacks all depends on the way you fight and how you see the jutsu being used, usually it is looked at if the jutsu is sent or used against you, what would be the initial weaknesses you would sense. Firstly too look into listing them you have to take account everything in your senses and the jutsu concept. When it comes to the senses examples include if you send a large fire attack towards the opponent you will likely not be able to see through the fire so you won't be able to see how they are moving or what they are doing. If the opponent tries to use a jutsu with earth release that uses the ground as a medium you will be able to use your sense of feel, to feel the density of the ground begin to shift or change. Stuff like this are obvious disadvantages. Now when it comes with the jutsu concept those are usually the usual people tend to look into, so lets say the chidori only works in close range battle so it can't be used for anything but close range battle limiting the jutsu. Also jutsus that have long list of hand seals are disadvantages because it might take some time to perform the jutsu leaving you open. Streaming techniques are usually not good to use with combos but you have complete control where you aim them. (Notice their how their is a disadvantage but also a advantage because of that ability)

Lastly when it comes to countering the jutsu. Now how teachers picture your combos is usually as if the jutsu has already been sent so saying things like:
While he is performing the long list of hand seals I will send an attack before he completed them.
Yes they work but it will not always be the case like that so you need to be able to counter it as if it was already sent, though its not bad to mention that aspect saying because of the hand seals you can counter before he completes them but it is not what we look at, you are not simulating a battle situation, and that is what teachers what you to try to do and how they want to teach as if you were in battle. Remember when we were talking about how disadvantages work? Those are usually what a person will look at when trying to counter the jutsu, so lets say the opponent sends a lightning blade towards you as a projectile attack, this is what is acceptable.
Due to the fact it is straight forward and easy to notice (See the disadvantage) I can simply figure out where it is heading and I can create a dense defense like a wall or try to overpower it.
So using those disadvantages you listen can be used to make the proper counter towards the jutsu so remember that.

Lastly it is the type of counters we want to see. When it comes to countering a jutsu we don't want you just to stop the jutsu, we want you to turn the table and go on the offense so to impress try to add ways to not only defend but attack as well. Also try not to spam the same counter over and over, what I mean by that is if the opponent sends a lightning attack don't just say:
I will send a wind attack to overpower it.
That is far to generic, yes some techs are more straightforward then others but those should be the ones you can formulate better counters with, its okay to experiment and say something new or outside the box, that is what teachers want to see and what they expect. So instead of using a wind jutsu, why not use a water pillar to launch you in the air and then send a attack to go on the quick offense? Simple yes, but at least it is not generic and overdone.

So that is the basis of everything, all in all try to have fun and be creative with it, this is meant for enjoyment as well as a learning experience.

Description: The user manipulates their chakra and creates a huge rock from the ground that will rise up, hammering the opponent by slamming it down from above them.

A quick jutsu to use, the user will summon a huge rock from the ground to rise up, which he then begins to control and sends towards the opponent from above. He then sends the rock to crash down upon the opponent. Its a very good jutsu to use for attacks above but you must keep control of the rock. The rock is moves at a normal pace and the performance of the jutsu is quick. Its great to distract the opponent while using this technique, also to counter it best to try and attack the rock before it comes close to you. Huge downside to this jutsu is you can only move the rock up to short range and that is dangerous for a opponent who is strong with taijutsu can easily get to you qith quickness.

Description: The user claps their hands together and then unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on either side of the enemy to send the opponent flying backwards.

Very similar to the technique. The user claps their hands and unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on each side of the opponent that appears anywhere close to the opponent, it acts to try to attack the chin or any other area around them. The impact can cause the opponent to fly back in the air. As said before they are left vulnerable in the air, they rise quite quick and the opponent can sense the density happen in the ground before they officially rise so they can anticipate an attack. Difference is you can only use it up to mid-range the most.

Perform the technique:
With my raw chakra gathered I begin to take focus upon the chakra. I begin to think of the ground beneath my feet, I condense the chakra and finally mold the nature of the chakra into earth which I flow into the ground using it to carve a huge chunk of rock out of the earthern ground which manipulate to drop on the opponent slamming him/her into the ground
Creative uses/strengths:
-This jutsu can be used to force close range fighters e.g hyuugas to propel themselves backward in order to stay out of range
-Good for attacking opponent from above or it can be used to forcefully drive airborne opponents to the ground as the earth drops on them midair
-Due to the fact that only doton chakra can be molded when performing this technique, I will find a way of making the opponent loose their footing e.g(Doton: Earth Tremor)
Drawbacks/counters:
-This jutsu can only be used in short range thus an opponent can simply propel themselves backwards to evade it
-This jutsu can only be used in an environment with earthern source as a chunk of earth is needed to perform it
-This jutsu needs concentration as the user has to move it with his mind and a continuous stream of doton chakra, so I believe moulding of other forms of chakra will be impossible when using this technique
-A counter to this jutsu is by making the opponent loose concentration of the chunk of earth before it gets above the user such as genjutsu and then taking the advantage of being in close range, the user can follow up by decapitating the opponent with a weapon.

-This techniques can be used anywhere mid range around the user making its usage more unpredictable as the user can erect it anywhere
-This jutsu is efficient for sending opponents out of range especially taijutsu users ,their mission is to get close
-It also provides alot of combos as the opponent is left open midair, the user can continue their move by preparing earth spikes or flame pillars at the landing position of the opponent
Drawbacks/counters:
- This jutsu can only be used in an environment with earthern source as a chunk of earth is needed to perform it
-Opponent will notice when this jutsu is being performed as they hear the sound and also feel the vibration.
-A good counter would be to use a jutsu that attacks the opponent and pushes user outta range of the pillars at the same time, jutsus like Hurricane Fist
