( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

How to perform it

*I start off by gathering a large amount of earth chakra on my right foot. Once I've gathered enough I raise my right knee and then dragged it downwards with force, stomping right foot with force while at the same time I release the gathered chakra on the ground. This causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which will then force fragments of earth to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and can raise them up into the air*


Strong points

From what I understand, the technique causes damage and then raises them into the air which is a plus. Meaning my opponent would be kind of hurt in the air and that makes even more difficult for him to defend against my next attack.

Weak points

I guess that it's a slow process. Meaning once my opponent sees the small fractures rip through the ground, he can react and avoid being hit by the rocks that rise.



How to counter

Once I see the fractures rip through the ground I would react by activating that C-rank lightning armor which surrounds my entire body and protect me from the rocks that rise from the ground.







(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm


How to perform it

*After listening to the instructions I perform the needed hand seals and then I place my right hand on the ground, causing the ground below my opponent to spiral inwards on itself, burying him alive or crushing hi, in a mayhem of jagged rocks*


Strong points

Can be used on any field except for a water one but it would work better on a mantuain or a pillar. Can target enemies in short, mid and long ranges which is pretty cool. You can also target multiple people with this technique.


Weak points

To be honest there's nothing good I could come up with. So I would say the hand seals and then placing my hand on the ground.



How to counter

If I'm standing on a pillar or a cave or mountainous areas I would use the wind stream technique to get away from all the rocks that broke apart and would land on the ground safely.

Description: The user creates their clone out of stone that he spits from his mouth. Unlike other types of clones the rock clones don’t disappear after being defeated but rather crumble like rubble. These clones can also be used to create a clone of other people than themselves but do not take on the abilities of the copied person. They can use up to C-Rank Earth techniques and are very resistant to physical damage such as that from Taijutsu which they can endure up to B-Rank.

( Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique

How to perform it

*I start to gather a large amount of earth chakra in both of my hands. I then slam both of my hands on the ground, causing four large spikes to quickly rise from the ground and from different angles, attacking my opponent.


Strong points

Like the description says the spikes are large and powerful and strike the target from different angles which should be more difficult for my opponent to evade.

Weak points

Leaves the area above you wide open so its easy to evade them. you could also escape by going underground.

How to counter

I would use the B-rank hurricane fist jutsu which is a wind jutsu that boosts you high into the air. In this case it would help me escape from the spikes.




(Doton: Iwa Bunshin) - Earth Release: Rock Clone Technique

How to perform it

*I start to gather a large amount of earth chakra in my mouth which I spit out of my mouth in the shape of clone that resembles my senpai. With this bad boy I could do a lot of things.


Strong points

Clones can use C-rank and below earth jutsus. They can also tank up to B-rank taijutsu techniques. They don't get defeated they just crumble.


Weak points

Can be easily defeated with C-rank and above lightning techniques. I also assume since they're made of rock that they move really slow making it easier for my opponent to get rid of them.



How to counter

By releasing a stream of lightning towards them, that should be enough to get rid of them. Also the swamp technique comes to mind.

Doing so, seemingly leaves the surrounding terrain unaltered, even when the quantity of earth used is enough to form a complete dome around multiple individuals as seen when Ittan used this technique. The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi.

How to perform it

*To start off I gather a large amount of earth jutsu and I release it in front of my. This allows me to fabricate a formation of rock that surrounds me with small openings around and a large one behind me, resembling a shelter of earth which should be able to protect me against some techniques*


Strong points

This technique can be used to not only protect yourself but your broskis too. You can manipulate the shelter to have openings wherever you want them.


Weak points

Nothing interesting to point out, the obvious thing is that the shelter can really be destroyed by almost every lightning technique B-ranked or above.


How to counter

You can use the hiding like a mole technique to rise inside the shelter and surprise your opponent. The shelter can honestly be taken down by most B-rank and above lightning jutsus.





(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique

How to perform it

*After listening to the instructions I gather some earth chakra in my hands. I then crouch and slam my hands on the ground with force while at the same time I send my chakra into the ground, this creates a dome of earth which rises around me with a opening behind me, this should be enough to protect me agains't certain attacks*

Strong points

The dome protects you all around except the area underneath you.


Weak points

Leaves the area underneath you open, if your not a sensor you wouldn't be able to sense that your opponent is coming to attack you from there which can backfire.


How to counter

Since my opponent loses his vision I would counter with the swamp technique. Since he is surrounded he would have a harder time escaping the swamp. Also destroying the dome with a lightning jutsu, the opponent should also have to deal with the rocks falling onto him as the dome gets destroyed.

How to perform it

*I start to gather a large amount of earth chakra in my mouth, once I have gathered enough I manipulate it while I release it from my mouth in the shape of multiple mud shots which I release towards a group of trees*


Strong points

Can be used in all ranges, also, you can target multiple opponents.

Weak points

It's your normal 'I release something towards you'. It's also easy to dodge.

How to counter

You can use an earth shield to protect yourself from the mud shots or you can simply release bolts or a stream of lightning towards them, it would be better to use a higher lightning technique in rank so that it continues towards your target as you prepare another technique.







(Doton: Dōka Ganseki Sensha) - Earth Release: Assimilated Rock Tank

How to perform it

*After using the Assimilate all creation technique I gather even more chakra, this allows me to collect rocks from the area around me. I manipulate it, creating the neccessary mass, creating an even more powerful human ball of earth.


Strong points

Stronger version


Weak points

Requires the user to perform two techniques. Can only be used in short range and the time it takes to prepare is great.


How to counter

With B-rank and above lightning techniques, a stream wouldn't work exactly so I would go with bolts. Also the earth core technique should work, lowering the ground or raising it.




(Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave

How to perform it

*To finish off things I perform the needed hand seals which allow me to gather a lot of earth chakra and send it into the ground, creating a soft wave of earth that I ride on towards my opponent to strike him with my sword.



Strong points

Can be used as a ride to get closer to your opponent and strike him. You can also use it trap them, keeping them in place and allowing you to attack them.


Weak points

As I make my way towards my opponent he would escape by boosting himself into the air. Also the technique really doesn't cause any damage and it's not deadly like the swam technique.

How to counter

Earth core technique comes to mind, I would lower the ground, trapping my opponent. I can also create a firewall or a lightning ball so that my opponent crashes against it.

Description: A trap technique in which the user will place somewhere and is activated upon contact with the opponent's chakra. The user uses a scroll to lay the trap in which releases mud that forms into the shape of wolves that will attack the enemy target/s. Despite being damaged the wolves can reform which can keep the enemy occupied to allow the enemy make a getaway. (Can only create a maximum of 3 mud wolves)
Note: Takes one turn to set the trap up and wolves only last two turns

(Doton no Yoroi) - Earth Release Armor

Chakra cost: 20 (-15 per turn to remain active)
Damage points: N/A (+10 to taijutsu moves)
Description: This Technique coats the users body with stones, making them much more resistant to attacks, at the cost of their speed. Whilst using this technique, the user can even change their appearance, but once the technique is either defeated or worn off the users original appearance is shown. The user whilst in this armor is resistant to B rank ninjutsu techniques but is vulnerable to Lightning Techniques.

(Doton: Doro Ookami) - Earth Release: Mud Wolves

How to perform it

*I grab a scroll and I place it on the ground, I follow up by gathering a large amount of earth chakra in my hands which I send into the scroll and so once it feels my oppoent's chakra it will activate and summon three wolves of mud*



Strong points

Summons more than one wolf. The wolves last two turns and can keep my opponent busy while I prepare an attack.


Weak points

My opponent could take action once I place the scroll on the ground. Can only be used in short range.

How to counter

Earth core technique comes to mind to lower da ground or raise it. You can also use the lightning armor to surround your body in electricity.




(Doton no Yoroi) - Earth Release Armor


How to perform it

*I gather a large amount of earth chakra all through out my body. I then manipulate it and my skin hardens like rock*




Strong points

You get a boost to your taijutsu, meaning even your free form attacks will cause more damage. The user is resistant to B-rank and lower ninjutsu except for lightning techniques.


Weak points

Lowers your speed.

How to counter

Strike your target with the lightning element or use the swamp technique, since their body is heavier they would sink faster.

The mud is very heavy and thick as well as adhesive, making it impossible to move if caught and easily crushing an enemy underneath. It’s normally followed up by Lightning release: sixteen pillar bind to create a giant oven around the opponent and then using Fire release: Firing biscuit technique to ignite the oven, hardening the mud and immobilizing the enemy target.

(Doton: Domu) – Earth Release: Earth Spear Technique

How to perform it

I perform the snake hand seal which allows me to gather a large amount of earth chakra all through out my body. I then manipulate it which hardens my body to a steel like quality, this increases my defence and my free form.

Strong points

Increases my physical attacks and also helps my defence since most taijutsu techniques shouldn't work against me.

Weak points

Lowers my base speed and also leaves vurnable to lightning techniques.

How to counter

You should be able to counter this with most B-rank and above lightning techcniques. I can see myself using the lightning armor technique and just punch my opponent.






(Doton: Iwa Keiro) – Earth Style: Rock Trail

How to perform it

I gather earth chakra on my hands and I then crouch and slam my hands into the ground, sending all the gathered chakra beneath the ground of my opponent. This causes giant rocks to rise and should break some lower body bones of my target.

Strong points

You can target multiple targets and you can make as many rocks as you like since the description doesn't state how many.

Weak points

Nothing good to state other than he ground shaking and the sound should give it away.

How to counter

I can see myself using the D-rank wind technique and release some blasts of wind to one of my sides moving me away from the area where the rocks will rise.




(Doton: Nentsuchi Otoshi) – Earth Release: Sticky Earth Drop

How to perform it

I perform the needed two hands seals that allow me to open a large portal in the sky and above my target. This portal drops sticky mud from it that should cover anyione under it and should trap them.

Strong points

You can use it in combination with Lightning release: sixteen pillar and Fire release: Firing biscuit. The mud should trap your target and probably drown them due to the large amount of mud.

Weak points

Your opponent should notice the portal right away as its really large.

How to counter

This one is a little tricky since lightning streams or currents in my opinion wouldn't work, so in my opinion it would be best to just move out of the way with either a wind jutsu.

Description: After doing the Snake handseal and slamming his hands on the ground, he user creates a portal above the target, high in the sky from which a giant, boar-shaped, earthen lid drops and falls on the target, trapping it underneath. The lid can be hollow or solid, depending on if the user wants to deal damage to the enemy or not. Because of its size, to safely used, the lid has to be created at least mid range from the user otherwise he will also be caught inside. The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta.

(Doton: Musaborudzuchi) – Earth Release: Devouring Earth

Description: The user performs the Ram → Horse → Tiger → Rabbit → Snake and slams their palm on the ground. Instantly, the ground to the sides of the opponent take the shape of huge jaws and attempt to crush and stab him between them. The size of the jaws can be adjusted to fit the size of the opponent or other uses.

How to perform it

*After listening to the instructions I perform the snake hand seal which allows me to gather earth chakra. Once that has been done I slam my hands on the ground, this allows me to create a large portal above my target, high in the sky from which a giant, boar-shaped, earthen lid drops and falls on the target, trapping it underneath*


Strong points

The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta. You can take out multiple targets. Can be used in short, mid and long range.

Weak points

Nothing good comes to mind.

How to counter

By going underground. you can also use a stronger lightning technique, one thats large.



(Doton Kage Bunshin) – Earth Release Shadow Clone

How to perform it

*Moving on now, I manipulate the ground below me, sending my earth chakra into to it and creating a mud clone that resembles me.

Strong points

It can continue to reform and mold itself back to its original shape even after taking physical damage (up to C-Rank). The clone can use up to C-rank earth techniques.

Weak points

The clone can be hardened by a strong fire jutsu, making it useless.

How to counter

I would use a strong fire technique to harden the mud clone, leaving it unable to move.


(Doton: Musaborudzuchi) – Earth Release: Devouring Earth

How to perform it

*I perform the Ram → Horse → Tiger → Rabbit → Snake and then slam my palm on the ground. Instantly, the ground to the sides of the opponent take the shape of huge jaws and attempt to crush and stab him between them.

Strong points

The jaws attack from both sides making it harder to avoid. Can make it the size you want. Can be used in all ranges.

Weak points

A lot of hand seals. The ground should start shaking and your opponent should know that something is up.

How to counter

Surround yourself with lightning and the jaws should get destroyed on contact.

Description: The user performs the Ram hand seal and causes causes the ground and everything on and around it to be sucked in towards the middle of a large pit, much like the method an antlion uses to catch prey. Upon being dragged to the centre, the victim will then be sucked underground. There the victim, depending on how deep the user makes them sink, will be trapped and/or suffocated. The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the technique.

How to use the template and fill it out effectively. This will also help your career in RP but it is quite a read though I do expect you to read it and carefully at that. I will notice if you have or not, and failure to write out the template correctly will result in a re-do of the jutsu(s).

Performance
When it comes to the performing point of the template, its all about imagination but this one is considered the most obvious of the whole template. When the student performs something you need to paint a picture in the teachers head to give them a clear image of everything that is going on and how you are reacting or feeling about the jutsu. Each jutsu will give different feelings and reaction. It is your job simply to show me how and what you are feeling and what is going on when performing the jutsus.

The things I expect in the performance are two things that are most important when performing the jutsus. The first is called Nature Manipulation. Nature manipulation is when the user will manipulate or control their raw chakra to change in basic nature which is one of the five basic elements. Now most people like to simply say something like this:
I gather my chakra and nature manipulate it into lightning chakra.
Yes this is okay but where is the creativity or the respect of actually wanting to perform and feel the jutsu? Now to explain every basic element properly on how to manipulate chakra into nature with more imagination and creativity such examples like this would work.
With my raw chakra gathered I begin to take focus upon the chakra. I begin to think of the warmth of the very sun and the blazing heat it gives off, I condense the chakra and finally mold the chakras nature into fire.

After gathering my chakra, I begin to take full control over it. I sharpen the chakra having the precious sharpness that surpasses that of a sword. Successfully I mold the chakra into wind chakra.
Now this is pretty much the basis when it comes to nature manipulation on how I see fit and what is best to impress your teacher. Now if you are wondering about how should I explain all the natures, well think about their property. Lightning has high frequent vibration and electrical sharpness, fire is superheated and blazing warm, water is free-flowing and very flexible, earth is rough and versatile, wind is sharp and thin with great accuracy. To be able to explain them you simply have to free your mind and become as creative as you can.

Now I can understand some times you don't want to go that deep into the jutsu because some are more simple then others and I can understand that, all I ask is to try and not be lazy with it.

The second thing that is most important when performing a jutsu correctly is called Shape manipulation. Now this is when you take the chakra or the chakra nature and shape it into any form or shape it requires to be properly formed. Shapes include spheres, animals (All types), blades, ect. This is all about attention to detail, and how precious you want to be when trying to perform the jutsu. Now here is a regular example that is done usually.
I manipulate the shape of my chakra to form a bullet.
Though again, that is not exactly wrong but where is the fun and creativity in that? This is all about paying attention to detail and how much you want to focus up on it. Here are some other examples that are more suffice.
After gathering my lightning chakra, I lengthen its size and sharpen the edge of the chakra to create a spear of lightning.

As I gather my chakra and release it forward, I begin to shape it and make it round as well as smooth leaving no bumps to create a spherical ball of chakra.
This is pretty much all it takes nothing more or less. You do not need to go extreme but detail is always best not only for me as a teacher but when you get in the habit of making proper and creative replies it will follow you in battle and help you greatly their when the time comes.

Creative uses/strengths

Now we are getting to the important part of all this. Now with this template I expect two things each with a total amount of detail. What I mean is firstly I expect you to tell me the strengths of a certain jutsu, I don't care how it works. I want to know what makes it useful. Things like that can include the jutsu is able to move in all ranges giving it a large amount of mobility. Another is you can send multiple attacks with one jutsu to attack more then one opponent or trying to barrage the opponent with attacks to make evasion difficult. Yes this are quite the small strengths but stuff like this count in the eyes of a teacher and needs to be taken in account. Though those are just some small examples what you really need to do is look into the jutsu itself. Try adding all or as much strengths with what you see in the jutsu. Also I understand some jutsus are more simple then others and might not have as much advantages but that is okay, its all about trying and thinking about it. But I do expect 1-3 strengths mentioned.

Lastly to perfect the strength portion, this is simple but something so many students fail to do. When you give a strength explain why that is considered a strength. Yes explain why. This is the most important part because it shows us how you plan on using it in battle and the teacher will be able to pick out what you have done wrong specifically. So simply saying it goes long range does not make it a hardcore advantage because if you think about it, that can also be considered a disadvantage. So by saying that it is very wrong and can confuse the teacher, all we really do is assume and guess what you are trying to say. So trying to perfect it, you would need to say something like this.This is the correct and proper way in doing the strength portion of the template.
The jutsu goes in long range, because of this the opponent will not be able to evade that easily by just pushing back and it can correspond with other jutsus.
Now the second portion of the template is creative usages. What is this is simply a combo or something you would do with the jutsu. This helps the teachers notice your style and what you are likely to accomplish in fighting so if you are doing anything wrong we can inject it and fix it so you do not make a mistake in battle. This is all about just being creative, every jutsu has a unique usage and can be used creatively or at the very least used in correspondence with other jutsus to create a combo to attack the opponent or turn the table on them.

Simple combos are of all kind, and most teachers will explain the jutsus usually giving a combo or a usage you can use, but it is the very basic of it. It is simply meant to show you how it is meant to be used or just to give you an idea. All because the teacher says it does not mean we want you to repeat what we said. You need to come up with another detail or combo. Simple combos could be like sending a fire jutsu towards the opponent and then use a jutsu to shake the ground to put the opponent off balance so it will be hard to react with the attack, and a more powerful combo could be when sending a fire jutsu direct it towards the ground and then send a single blade of wind behind the fire, which you can then activate the blade to turn into a hurricane to create a powerful fire vortex. Though with newer RPers they tend to sometimes use basic combos because they have seen less of the jutsu list or understand it less then others, but when you move on and learn more jutsu creating combos become much more easier and you begin to take action effectively.

Drawbacks/counters

Now this is the complete opposite of the strengths and creative usages. This is as equal as the strengths and creative usages for it allows the teacher to see exactly how is your understanding of the jutsu. Usually when people look at jutsus they tend to leave this with very little detail and failure to explain it properly. This is because many people believe disadvantages are to obvious to try and explain on why its a disadvantage which is the wrong mentality when doing this point. There are things with drawbacks and counter that need to be taken in account. What I usually expect from the student here is at least 1-3 drawbacks and at least one counter for the jutsu you would do.

Drawbacks when looking into it is not explained from the student, it is usually because of the double standards people give to jutsus. As I explained in the above long range attacks would be great attacks but their are disadvantages to them, one being is if the opponent is long range it will take much more time for the attack to reach the opponent so they will be able to counter the attack with ease. The thing is when it comes to advantages their will always be a disadvantage to that very thing. If something is great to use in short range battle it is useless in long range, if the jutsu is a projectile technique it can be used with combos but the jutsu will usually be straightforward and easy to anticipate. This is something always to consider when writing disadvantages that they're will always be one as long as you have listed advantages or mention them. So if you have two advantages mentioned then their is a huge likely hood that their will be two disadvantages with that, so their should not be much of a ratio difference between the two.

Listing proper drawbacks all depends on the way you fight and how you see the jutsu being used, usually it is looked at if the jutsu is sent or used against you, what would be the initial weaknesses you would sense. Firstly too look into listing them you have to take account everything in your senses and the jutsu concept. When it comes to the senses examples include if you send a large fire attack towards the opponent you will likely not be able to see through the fire so you won't be able to see how they are moving or what they are doing. If the opponent tries to use a jutsu with earth release that uses the ground as a medium you will be able to use your sense of feel, to feel the density of the ground begin to shift or change. Stuff like this are obvious disadvantages. Now when it comes with the jutsu concept those are usually the usual people tend to look into, so lets say the chidori only works in close range battle so it can't be used for anything but close range battle limiting the jutsu. Also jutsus that have long list of hand seals are disadvantages because it might take some time to perform the jutsu leaving you open. Streaming techniques are usually not good to use with combos but you have complete control where you aim them. (Notice their how their is a disadvantage but also a advantage because of that ability)

Lastly when it comes to countering the jutsu. Now how teachers picture your combos is usually as if the jutsu has already been sent so saying things like:
While he is performing the long list of hand seals I will send an attack before he completed them.
Yes they work but it will not always be the case like that so you need to be able to counter it as if it was already sent, though its not bad to mention that aspect saying because of the hand seals you can counter before he completes them but it is not what we look at, you are not simulating a battle situation, and that is what teachers what you to try to do and how they want to teach as if you were in battle. Remember when we were talking about how disadvantages work? Those are usually what a person will look at when trying to counter the jutsu, so lets say the opponent sends a lightning blade towards you as a projectile attack, this is what is acceptable.
Due to the fact it is straight forward and easy to notice (See the disadvantage) I can simply figure out where it is heading and I can create a dense defense like a wall or try to overpower it.
So using those disadvantages you listen can be used to make the proper counter towards the jutsu so remember that.

Lastly it is the type of counters we want to see. When it comes to countering a jutsu we don't want you just to stop the jutsu, we want you to turn the table and go on the offense so to impress try to add ways to not only defend but attack as well. Also try not to spam the same counter over and over, what I mean by that is if the opponent sends a lightning attack don't just say:
I will send a wind attack to overpower it.
That is far to generic, yes some techs are more straightforward then others but those should be the ones you can formulate better counters with, its okay to experiment and say something new or outside the box, that is what teachers want to see and what they expect. So instead of using a wind jutsu, why not use a water pillar to launch you in the air and then send a attack to go on the quick offense? Simple yes, but at least it is not generic and overdone.

So that is the basis of everything, all in all try to have fun and be creative with it, this is meant for enjoyment as well as a learning experience.
