Doesn't matter because it's a supernatural being, it's a ghost, rinnegan users govern life and death which gives them a 6th sense (to see the dead souls) As proof of this "hell realm" can only be seen by the Rinnegan user OR the victim of it. Same thing applies for the death god.

looking at the latest chapter i would argue that obito was still very young (like, naruto/sasuke age right after time skip) when this fight took place and that he probably hadnt mastered his phasing to the point it is now. Minato's Speed was probably just enough to get past that split second of inexperience, not to mention surprising him with marks on people or whatever he did. On top of all that Minato was his Teacher, i cant help but wonder if he had any kind of hesitation or disinterest like he did with kakashi. so, /agree with minato hitting him during that period in time. More difficult if minato and obito were to fight now. (as a minato fan i would think he could pull it off)

Tobi can Travel through Dimensions..But (lets face it) it ain't possible to avoid/run away from a Death god!!!!! I believe tht Once the Reaper is Summoned he won't let go of the soul he has come to take!!!!! so yeah..it might work on him!!!

If you think at it, it handles dimension by itself. I mean, he comes from his dimension to the dimension of the caster.

So if Minato will get warped together with Tobi so will the Death Reaper.

However the thing is that you need to make contact with Tobi which would be a hard thing to do.

Maybe not in Kamui, but Minato has shown to speed to counter Obito's Kamui, so FTG + Shikka Fuujin would work for sure.

Yeah sorry i missed that part of your post until after i had replied. i saw yours and that other guys both talking about how the death god doesnt have to worry about dimensions. Sorry :/

The death god would be able to pull Tobi's soul wherever it would be the question relies on Minato's ability to grab Tobi for a long enough period until the death god hands reach Tobi's soul. Minato was able to land a blow in Obito, but that and grab Obito for long period of time are two completely different situations.

Death God seal is not an instant move apparently the God is rather indifferent if the technique works or not. The God wasn't pulling much hard when Sarutobi used it and Orochimaru managed to escape fairly good apart from his arms. The technique was broken in the moment Sarutobi lost grip of Orochimaru. So that leads to conclude that despite being a soul binding seal it needs a physical component that stretches for quite a while and therefore it would probably not work against Obito that would simply go intagible and escape with a minor soul/chakra loss.

The same argument would be made about other spiritual sealing techniques such as the Totsuka Sword. The sword needs to pierce and not to cut, and that is most likely because in order to seal the body must remain in contact with the blade. That's why Orochimaru's soul was able not to be completely sealed, because he severed a part of himself from the body that had been pierced, be it either the snake that fled or the Curse Marks he gave to his underlings. So we can extrapolate that Obito would be able to avoid being sealed by cutting the physical connection with the blade via intangibility.

At the end of the day Orochimaru saves Obito from being sealed by any means we know of.

The ability was first founded by Minato, and he was able to take down the yang side of the Kyuubi, and since he originated the technique, don't you think the 4th found a way to RDS something without having contact with the target? That's wild speculation. If that would be possible one could also say that by proxy Minato could have just landed the other side of the RDS in Obito and sealing both the Yang of the Kyuubi and Obito without even getting caught in it.

One thing is to be sure, if the RDS didn't needed the user to be holding contact then Minato would not have died. Self sacrifices make heroes but unnecessary self sacrifices make fools.
