Itachi is responsible for Sasuke's pain. He should've killed Sasuke when he had the chance on the night of the massacre. At least then Sasuke would be at peace. But Itachi's selfishness got in the way if you ask me. This begs the question; does Sasuke deserve BETTER than Itachi? I'd say so.

Itachi was always acting in the BEST interest of Sasuke as his older brother whom he loved to the death and death after death! Sasuke is as powerful as he is because of Itachi's actions and is still alive because of it as well. Now tell me this, if you loved your younger brother would you kill him or let him live and give him a motivation to keep going in life even after a tragedy?

Truth be told being a shinobi in general changes people. Even if Itachi hadn't messed with Sasuke's mind, who's to say someone else wouldn't? Sasuke is easily colored as you see him being influenced by many people, such is life, get over it. If Itachi hadn't taken matters into his own hands that night, he would be dead; an innocent child.

Itachi saved his brother's life and if he really wanted Sasuke dead, he would have done it long ago. He did everything he could for Sasuke and if he hadn't pushed him, then he wouldn't be as strong as he is now. Face it, without Itachi pushing Sasuke, Naruto wouldn't have a rival. Itachi even prepared Sasuke so he was able to take his own eyes.

Big deal nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes! Itachi had to juggle the weight of protecting the shinobi world and his little brother! Until you are in that predicament who are you to judge and say that his ways were wrong?

Itachi wouldn't have asked for a better brother and Sasuke is doing everything in his power (at the moment anyways) to take revenge for his family, mainly what the leaf village forced Itachi into having to do.

Well, fanboy as in I'm an Itachi fan. I forgot fanboy in this forum means someone who is unreasonable and overrates their favorite character. I am not like that. I know Itachi's limits. For example:
Madara>>>Itachi
Nagato>Itachi
Naruto>Itachi
and so on.
Most people would agree that Itachi is arguable the smartest. If you can't see that, then that is pathetic, my friend

Even i am Itachi fan but its Clear Minato is Smartest. He found about about Tobi's ability came up with a Plan to defeat him & he was the first person to realise Naruto is Child of Prophecy & that too before he died. Jiraiya figured that out when he was about to die but Minato figured that out Before he was going to die & plus He Sacrificed himself for the same reason.

Tactics - Yea ( pretty high level too )
Planning and fore-sight - (He gets this also, due to naruto)

Jutsu - yea (i mean, he did learn all the uzumaki seals, so he gets that too)

x factors for both

Minato : while we have seen itachi in action since part one, and have wayyy more quotes and examples of his skill's abilities, and battle prowls you could say that we only saw minato fight seriously once, one "play-fight" and a few foderizations, were-as itachi has had far more screen-time comparatively.

Itachi : What's pretty crazy about itachi is that.... he was 13 when he killed his clan, around 20 at his oldest, and that's a major factor. I mean, were comparing a full grown man (we saw minato mostly as a man) v.s someone who, for a large portion of the series, was just a teen. Not to mention he was terminally il as well

Conclusion : tbh idk for sure, i mean, i'm a huge minato fan, but minato v.s. itachi is just a really close bout in most cases. We have barely seen any of minato's arsenal, and itachi, died really young and sick.

But i would assume minato was smarter just by a hair, and largely because i am a fan of his, i will concede though, that if itachi had lived to minato's ago he would likley be smarter ( more intelligent)
