Madara knows every Uchiha doujutsu tech, so he could use it (Izanami) on Itachi also. Itachi fucked himself out of Koto by burning the crow that had Shisui’s eye so that’s a no-go also.

I meant the forbidden Sharingan techniques, I.e. Izanagi And Izanami. He also used Tsukuyoumi with a spare sharingan but that’s it.

Itachi thought by taking out edo he could probably take out madara, so it really wasn’t a need to fight him when you could just go after the person casting the jutsu. Well I think he’s talking about the war arc since that was the only time they both were alive at the same time, and at that time he already had used it on his self. If we put itachi in his prime feel like we would have to do the same thing with madara and 4 limbo clone will be hard to stop really if he can switch spots with them

I'm the reason for the confusion. I was referring to their primes as in when both were alive and before Madara died and defied death. He has EMS and Kurama then, but that wouldn't be fair on Itachi either who's half dead and has a waning eye sight.

Were they ever both alive? That's interesting. In that case Itachi would be at a huge disadvantage with Madara being modified and immune to normal killing methods. I don't think Itachi has ever really been in his prime. In his prime, his MS powers are fully mastered that means he has PS and has a stronger Tsukuyomi control. He wouldn't be easy beating.

Madara with his Rinnegan can take him down though. Rinnegan puts anyone not an imbecile right above every Kage, and Itachi is largely Kage level around the time he's in Konoha with Kisame, where he's in his best shape.
