Madara knows every Uchiha doujutsu tech, so he could use it (Izanami) on Itachi also. Itachi fucked himself out of Koto by burning the crow that had Shisui’s eye so that’s a no-go also.

That doesn't really provide answer to his capabilities against Madara. Kishi could have made the crow regenerate Shisui's eye powers via Naruto's (Asura's) and Kurama's chakra. Saying 'he didn't have the power' is nowhere near as interesting as if he had that power.

On top of that, Madara didn't really know much about Obito's kamui until he saw him use it. I doubt he knew about Kotoamatsukami, but, of course, the possibility lies there (because Madara was alive during the third shinobi world war....as was Shisui)

...I'm merely saying that Kishi could have made it so Itachi wouldn't have burned the crow AND let Naruto's Ashura chakra (no matter how weak it is/was that time) speed up the process.

He could’ve also not nerfed Nagato and actually let them have a real battle without Nagato acting like an idiot and not getting rid of the smoke but screw logic. But yes, he could’ve that and again, I still don’t believe it would’ve helped.
