Also, don't forget Tsunade. Naruto is biologically a cousin of the Senju, and is a direct descendant of the first Senju, so he arguably counts. Then factor Nagato, Kushina, Mito, and Karin as well?

Naruto is related to the Senju, so he counts too. Kishi did not do this on purpose. Ashura was reborn into those with Senju lineage, just as Indra was into Uchiha lineage. If the Senju had a distinguishing feature, like the Sharingan, Naruto would have most likely had it too, but they don't, they only inherit the Sage's "body" which Naruto did inherit,just like Sasuke inherited the "Sage's eyes."
