Fugaku and Mikoto were both Uchiha. Mikoto had the Uchiha traits, blue-ish black hair and big black pupils.

I didn't ignore anything, I provided a viz scan stating that the Senju were touted as the strogest Lol

"Our clan was the only one capable of standing up to them" <--- this answers your question about why the Uchiha were hired to fight the Senju. It doesn't mean that they were equals, they were just the only ones strong enough to put up a fight against them. If two kingdoms or organizations are fighting and one hires the senju it would only be natural the other side would choose the Uchiha to defend themselves.


The senju outclassed outclassed the Uchiha in their clashes, they canonically surrendered and agreed to the treaty.
